I have no fill in the band JuneBug36, that's why I am hungry. My surgeon said no fill until 6 to 8 weeks.
I'm just worried that I'll gain all the pounds I lost.

I agree, I was banded on the 20th, so I am also day 4, I also have no appetite, I am trying to push liquids downs, cause I know I need it! I am also very tired! I just said, I can't wait to feel normal, what ever that might feel like! Like on the pre diet, I want to get to the feel of Normal! I am just trying to relax, rest and recover. I have to go to work Monday also! Good Luck!!

Thanks for the encouragement! I am 4 days post op and not feeling well at all. I have no appetite and nothing tastes good. I'm trying to walk because the gas pains still there. Just glad to see others getting past this and feeling so much better! I have to go back to work on Monday...first day of school for me and don't want to miss. I did tell them if Monday doesn't go well then I might need to take a couple more days. Just hoping I start feeling better over the weekend.
    Have a great weekend!

    Hi all,
I am 12 days post -op and this topic are for those of you experiencing pain first few days of surgery. I just want to inform everyone that this pain goes away on the 2nd week. I felt so much pain the first 3 days after surgery and today, I feel nothing. I literally called my surgeon to ask when I can go to the gym and he said as of today, I can use the treadmill but no weight lifting.
I lost an amazing 14 lbs! I am 170 lbs right now and I am very happy that I want to uplift mood of people undergoing the first few days post-op. Believe me , pain goes away. Take your gas-x and walk a lot.
I am still on liquids, will start mushy food in 2 days. I feel like I can continue the liquids because I think with the liquid diet, you lose weight quick. Any input on this?
    Thanks for reading my post.

Congratulations! I will do the same thing when I'm ready for it. Everything is not covered by insurance, right?

Here is a great low carb recipe that I made up myself:
    4 skinless boneless chicken breast
    3 tblsp butter
    tblsp garlic powder
    4 tblsp lemon juice.< /p>
    1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Pre heat oven to 375. Place chicken in a non-stick baking pan. Pour lemon juice over chicken...sprinkle garlic powder over it, then thin slice butter and lay it randomly over chicken. Sprinkle parmesan cheese over the top. Bake 45 minutes. You know it is done when your cheese turns golden brown. A tasty recipe

I feel this same. I was banded one week ago 8/13. I am on the mushy stage and I feel hungry. I am not a patient person but I understand that I have to have self control and continue dieting until I get at least my first fill.... We GOT THIS!

A lot of the weight lost in the first few weeks of the presurgery diet is Water... so you may gain a few pounds. It can take two or three follow up visits before you start seeing results from the band. It takes time to heal, and it takes time to get the band near the green zone so it can do its job.
That's one problem with the band, the results aren't as immediate as the more drastic WLS procedures. But, the band will work!

This is bandster hell and you just have to use self control and just diet even though you are hungry. Once the fills start working, you will find that you are not hungry all the time and it will be easier to eat better and eat less.

it is really hard to lose wt. when on soft or mushy. most whole foods are good, its what you use to make it mushy. like mayo, gravies, butter etc. this is also the best time to eat like if your band has been adjusted. yes you will be hungry so it also is a good time to figure what you can eat that isn't calorie laden for Snacks.

eggs are more for the soft food stage, but you could try something like egg drop Soup if you like that.
I did not eat any mashed potatoes or anything like that, because of the carb content and there isn't much nutrition to it.
You can do things like meatballs and sauce, mash them up and enjoy. You can get chunky Soups and smooth them out. Flaky fish is another great choice, things like flounder or tilapia that can be mushed up with some lemon sauce or tartar sauce (go easy with this one if it's not light)
During these stages your goals are not to lose weight but to heal, that said however you don't want to start eating ice cream and mashed potatoes and gain weight.
In the mornings, Greek yogurt with fruit is great. Chobani was my favorite at the time, it was high in Protein, no sugar, and low calorie. I think Dannon now makes one that is even lower in calorie but still high in Protein.< /p>
You want to try and eat things that have a high protein content right now, and always choose that protein first over the fruits and vegetables. Your body is healing after surgery, and you are going to need the extra protein to help that healing process and prevent muscle loss, and worst of all hair loss.
When you do move to eggs, I found the easiest ones to eat were scrambled or egg whites. Always eat slowly and chew chew chew. The mushy stage will move quickly to soft foods it's really giving you the chance to heal a bit more and work on those eating mechanics so as you go forward you won't experience PB's sliming or worse a stuck episode.

eggs got stuck? I thought egg is a soft food. I think this stage is really a threat to someone who still want to lose weight. My doctor told me I even can blend steak if I want to .....haha

I've been struggling with this stage too and am actually back up to 232 because everything is so damned fattening. Also, being in Bander's Hell isn't helping.
OH! With the eggs ... I've learned that you have to be VERY careful and chew a lot. Even if you think it's been chewed enough, chew more. I thought the eggs I was eating were not just mushy enough, but also chewed enough, and they got stuck. I can now say that I've experienced Sliming. I felt like my cat after she's had a really nasty medication shoved in her mouth.
For veggies ... baby food. I get the stuff in the squeezable pouch. It' not bad. It's not GREAT, but it's not horrible either.

I did the tuna salad, egg salad and chicken salad. I also ate baked potatoes, but have not since that stage because of the carbs. I would eat pudding, cottage cheese and I would mix fruits into my Protein shakes. I hope this helps.

I know in the mushy stage, we can blend anything and I know we can eat tuna salad or egg salad. I was wondering how people can eat a salad without a bread or even a lettuce cup? I do need to know how people cope up in this stage.
Tell me any outrageous food you have blended, and does it taste good?

Congrats on feeling better! I'm on day 8 post surgery and still a little uncomfortable, so your post was just what I needed, thanks! I'm still on liquids as well, and getting bored but enjoying watching my number go down. I'm curious if you feel any restriction. I don't yet, but I'm figuring that's because I'm liquid only. I'm trying to remember to just sip, but it's hard to keep in mind when I don't feel much different yet. I do seem to get full faster though, so that's good news for sure.
