I'm a Texan who loves spending time with my loving son and the love of my life.

I didn't always struggle with weight, however sometime around 2000 I started gaining weight, I reached my highest weight ever in 2004 weighing in at 269. I started dieting and eventually lost 69lbs, within the past few years I started the yo-yo effect with weight. By 2012 I had regained between 32-38 pounds of what I had previously lost and was told by the doctor I had hypertension and that my cholosterol & triglyceride level was border line. After seeing and hearing a few co-workers talk about their lapband experience I decided to take a plunge and research. Once I researched it enough, I started the process and I was approved by insurance and I got the lapband this year in April. To date I have lost 33lbs and still going, furtunately for me I really haven't had any bad experiences with the procedure, the most difficult part was eating slow (always was a fast eater before), I have a good support system at home so if I tend to start eating faster than what I should I'm told to slow down which is just wonderful for me.

I saw bariatricpal.com after googling food recipes and decided to join since I have recently had my surgery. I'm hoping to learn and just read stories on how everyone else has been successful with the procedure itself, exercise, etc and if I meet and make new friends along the way then I gladly embrace it. I'm a talker, with a great personality and I'm def not shy.
