Hey you guys...Just checking in on my 8 month bandiversary? Down 60 lbs as of a couple of days ago. I had to have another unfill today. This time they took out everything. I was having heartburn and reflux at night and was miserable. I can go back next week to put most back in or just wait until I'm feeling better. I still love my band, even if it is a little fickle sometimes. I have been at my sweet spot since last month at this time and then all of a sudden...WHAMMMMM. Too tight. :thumbup: There's no rhyme nor reason for it. I started in a size tight 18 and now is a loose 12. :thumbup: 10's here I come. I've lost 60% of my excess weight in 8 months and I'm not one bit worried about gaining anything back. This is the first time I've given away my FAT clothes. I truly feel at peace with my weight, body etc. I'd still like to get another 25lbs off. I'm only 5'2". I'm in no rush. Would love to be a size 8 when all is said and done. The nut at the doc's office doesn't think I'll lose more than 10 more lbs. :w00t: (I'll show her) Anyway...I don't post a lot but I do lurk to see what everybody's up to.

OOOPPPPS Yesterday was my 6 month bandiversary, but I forgot to reply. I'm down 54#s and happy as could be. This past month my son got married and then I spent a week in Vegas, and I still lost weight. I'm at peace with myself/weight for the first time. You know if it were not for this band...I would have GAINED weight after all the special EATING/drinking events going on recently. Especially after being on a restricted caloric intake for the previous 5 months. That what always happens. Two steps forward and 1 step back, until I got so discouraged that I gave up. I said it before...this band really does hold your place until you are ready to start losing again. (I read that somewhere a while ago) I'M READY TO START LOSING AGAIN.

You go to Las Vegas on vacation and the only souvenirs you come back with are the barf bags from the plane.:biggrin:

Hi all Merry Losers!!! Well today is my 5 month anniversary. I'm down 51 lbs and doing great. If I did it correctly, I'm 23% down. I had a little unfill a couple of weeks ago and I was afraid I would start eating and gaining...but not the case. I'm eating more but still loosing. :thumbup: My older son got married Sat nite and all went well. Some people I haven't seen since surgery could not believe the change. I've been getting emails all morning commenting on the wedding and about how good I looked. This is a strange turn of events. I don't know about you, but I'm not used to getting compliments on my looks. My cooking yes!!!! ahahah I'm finally starting to see some difference, especially dressed. ahahah Undressed, I look like the Saggy, Baggy, Elephant.:eek: I'll post pictures as soon as I get some back.

Hi all you Merry Losers!! Haven't checked in for a while. Lots of Lurking. Just got back from the doctor for a slight unfill. I should have had 1.5 cc's in a 4 cc band. He pulled out 1.1 and put back just under 1cc. I have been having trouble for the past 2 weeks eating enough protein. pbing way too much. My last fill was mid March...so I'm not sure why all of a sudden I got super restriction. I did get a cortisone (sp?) shot in my shoulder in April. Dr. didn't comment if that could be the cause. Anyway...I'm down 49lbs since 12/26/2007. Can't complain about that. I'm never hungry:thumbup:. Started sized 18W- now regular 14's are loose. Some 12's fit just fine. I love my band!! My older son is getting married next week (May 24th) Then I'm off to Vegas for a week. :biggrin: I hope I can eat for the Bridal Luncheon, Rehearsal Dinner, Wedding and of course Vegas...BABY!!! Just wanted to tell you all how much I enjoy coming here every day to hear how everyone is doing. I truly get a warm and fuzzy feeling from each and everyone of you.

That happens often here...I have an emergency food kit under my desk. It has K20 water, pinapple juice, barf bag, small tubs of peanut butter, 100 calorie packs of crackers, small tins of tuna, even gas x strips and gum, etc. If I can't get away for lunch, I still have something to eat. I've only had to visit my "goodie" bag twice since banding but boy did it come in handy. Stress can really do a number on your band. I have noticed that lately and try to smooth things out a bit to avoid stress. Hope you can eat soon!

I hear you Fanny....I feel at peace now. Even if the scale isn't moving for a week or more...I can take it. I'm not in a panic thinking I screwed up 3 months of dieting in a blowout weekend of cheating. Someone else once said something like "the band it there to hold our place, until we are ready to start loosing again". I find comfort in that. It will happen this time. It is happening this time.

Bigunc, Good luck on your Big day Monday. I'm a member of the "Merry Losers" and I'm also from Louisiana. Shrimp are hard for me to keep down...of course I just had a fill and I'm pretty tight right now. Also, Jambalaya (rice) is not too band friendly. Let us know how everything went.

I hear ya! My son is getting married May 24, 2008 and I have no idea what size I'll be by then. I also need a nice dress for the rehearsal dinner as well as several showers etc. OH NOOOOOO!!!. I'm going to wait until late March and just buy several things maybe 2 different sizes and hope for the best.

I hate to chew cookies. Makes my teeth itch:tongue_smilie:. I do however, suck them to death. (or use to pre-band)

OMG!!! ME TOO. I was banded on 12/26/2007. I lost 17lbs in the 2 weeks pre op but have been gaining and losing the same 2 lbs since then. What Gives??? I'm eating less than 1000 calories per day and walking more than I have in years. I know I wont get a fill until mid Feb. '08...but I don't think I can hold out much longer. I hungry, not just head hunger. HUNGRY.:smile:

Hi, I'm here in Kenner, LA. I was banded on 12/26/2007 at Ochsner Hospital. I have 2 grown sons living in Las Vegas, NV wahoooooo and a DH of 32 years. (yes I'm an oldie but goodie) My order son is getting married in May 08 and I will look HOT by then. ahahahha Went back to work 3 days after surgery. I have no pain...only discomfort. ( I'm a stomach sleeper and the port site feels weird). I'm still on protein shakes and mushies but really have no hunger.YET I think we southerners have a harder time with this food thing. I love to cook and that is going to be the hardest . I sometimes forget I have the damn thing. I PB'd on Jello twice. Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing. Hi all, I was banded on 12/26/2007 ...and just thought I would let everyone know how I am doing. First of all I had very little to NO pain from the moment I opened my eyes in post op. I hit the pain pump pretty regularly until they disconnected it :heh: just before my release.ahaha I haven't needed: Pain meds (not even liquid Tylenol) Gas X strips (no gas pains) Nausea meds (suppositories) Heating pad for shoulder pain BBQ tongs. (OMG gross...) I have 5 incesions... only my port site is bruised and has 2 steri strips covering it. I guess the others are glued. I left the hospital on Friday and went to work on Sat. (only a couple of hours) to do payroll and I'm at work today until noon. I stayed in the hospital 2 nights instead of just one because the nurses couldn't find the Dr.'s discharge p/w. DONT HAVE SURGERY DURING THE HOLIDAYS!!! The skeleton crew they had on duty didn't know anything. They kept giving me straws with every drink, water, juice... I FEEL GREAT... I have been doing my liquid protein drinks, jello, water etc. Not much hunger, but I'm ready to take this baby on a trial run. I'll post again soon.

How 'bout dem Saints??? Don't get me started on the food down here! That's why I am the size I am. I also love to cook and I'm good at it.ahahhaha Jambalaya, Gumbo, smothered anything!!!!!!! I must stop the madness. My husband came home this weekend with a KING CAKE.. Good lord, Mardi Gras is 2 months away:eek: Ours lives revolve around food. Catching it (big fishermen/hunters), cooking it, eating it, eating it, eating it. How is you family dealing with your decision to have the band?

Hi All, Please add me the the "MERRY LOSERS" Just got my date: 12/26/2007. Yes, Yes, Yes I know its the day after X-mas. I've eaten enough X-Mas dinners, right??? I just want to say a big "Thank You" to everyone here. You have given me so much knowledge and information, not to mention HOPE. I know this is right for me and that I CAN do it. I look forward to getting to know you and travel this road together. I have very supportive family/friends and look forward to starting my new life next Wednesday.:omg: But there are somethings they just don't or can't understand. That's where ya'll come in.
