I will be going on vacation to the beach in a few weeks! I am really excited to get away with my family! I am somewhat worried about eating. I know we will eat out a lot and when we don't I will need something to eat besides what my sister makes for the kids. All the other adults will Just eat "whatever." I need snack and meal ideas. We're going to Florida which is about an 18 hour drive. Any suggestions are appreciated!!

APPS FOR TRACKING

I love my fitness pal. I also have an app called waterlogged. You track your water intake and it reminds you when you haven't tracked or drank enough. -

December Surgery Thread - we rock!
holliwood1980 replied to bellabloom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey everyone! My surgery was December 18 and I am down 91 pounds since the day of surgery. I still have about 50 more to go. I am doing pretty well with most foods except meat. I feel really good, still tired a lot but great other than that! So glad I did this! -
I'm in!!

I had my 6 month post op visit the other day. I can't believe it has already been that long! It seems like just yesterday I was struggling to eat broth! I have come a long way and learned even more these 6 months. I still struggle with certain foods but I have never been more sure that this was the best decision of my life! I still have a ways to go and still sometimes have to force myself to go to the gym and occasionally force myself to not eat peanuts lol, but I will get there. I am down 91 pounds so far. I really hoped to hit 100 pounds by 6 months but I know that I need to be proud of what I have accomplished. I basically lost the equivalent of my niece and nephew put together. That's crazy! The doctor was very pleased and my blood work all looks great! I hope everyone has similar and even better success! To anyone starting out, it is very hard especially at first. It's overwhelming at times and an emotional journey. Sometimes I miss my old friends sugar and fat, but I quickly get over it and know I would do this again in a heartbeat!

I still crave diet coke occasionally. I took a sip of my moms the other day. It was not fun. It tasted really gross and burned my throat!! Not worth it!

I am 4 months out and down 75 pounds. I am very happy with my progress. I weigh myself every morning (even though I probably shouldn't) and I have had a few stalls but not bad. I weighed myself Monday and skipped Tuesday. On Wednesday I was up 4 pounds when I weighed myself! I'm so confused! I am eating 700-900 calories a day. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? I usually go to the gym 3 times a week sometimes less though depending on work.

4 months out and weight gain
holliwood1980 replied to holliwood1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No it's not my time of the month. I try not to weigh during that time lol. I keep weighing and it's still up 4 pounds it's making me crazy! I'm sure it will go back down I'm just trying to figure out what it is. -

I am 4 months out and have lost 75 pounds. I still feel like the same person I was before! I know my clothes are way too big now but I don't feel like I look any differently despite what everyone tells me. -
I had a hernia repair with my surgery. I have had terrible acid reflux for 15 years. I am a little over 3 months out and since surgery I haven't even had heartburn once!!!

What was everyone eating 3 months out? Any kind of meat or eggs bothers my stomach. I feel Like all I eat lately is cheese lol. I need to change it up a bit.

3 months out

I am cleared for everything except raw vegetables at this point. The problem is most times when I try something new it feels terrible. -
3 months out
holliwood1980 replied to holliwood1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes I have learned my lesson from eating too much cheese! All meat even in gravy and lunch meat makes my stomach hurt. I need to come up with some alternatives. -
How do you feel when you are getting full?
holliwood1980 replied to lauradevans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just started on full solid foods and I am the same way! I go from not full to oh no way too full in an instants! It's making me crazy! I'm having a hard time figuring out the right amount.
