I had a brachioplasty a month ago and of course they can get your arms super tight because of swelling which occurs and nerves in the arm. My question is - what type of arm exercise is the best to firm up the arms? Thanks!

I'm in Richmond

Yes they are still a little swollen. I know they look better than before, but I was hoping for them to be smaller. But oh well. I had a breast lift and the brachioplasty combined and it was around $6000. This included the dr fees, anesthesia and operating room. I used a dr that had a residency student that was fixing to graduate, so he was able to assist and it kept my cost a little lower. Thank you. Yes I'm still healing. No pain at all. I was just sore and uncomfortable more than anything. I honestly don't think the idea of no jiggle at all may be realistic. My arms are very toned through yoga, but I still have a little left. They just can't cut too close because of all the arteries and nerves. But toning will certainly help to a degree.Yeah I know there will be a little jiggle and I know they are definitely better than before. I just want them to be as toned as possible. Do you mind me asking what type of yoga poses and all that I can do? I've already done about 300 curls today with 4 lb weight. LolThat seems early to be doing that many curls so soon after surgery. Be careful Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App It wasn't all at once. This was stretched out over about 8 hours. My dr told me I could start working back out at 1 month, but to just be careful. I was careful.

Had surgery on 4/21 and still not sure I am happy or not? I hope I can do some firming up because I still don't like the way my arms look.

He told me I could start working out 1 month post op. My range of motion still isn't 100%, but probably 80%. I am currently a member of Curves and I walk. I also have some hand weights and kettle bells at home.

Yeah I think they look better, but I want them to be tighter and firmer, but I know I have to put some work in which I am going to do. I guess I just wasn't expecting there to be any jiggle left. I don't know. Lol

Thank you so so much! Today is 3 weeks and I'm getting a little more range of motion, but he still told me nothing more than 5 lbs and don't reach over my head. I'm healing really good, just a few more weeks of my arms being wrapped. Thanks again!

I had a brachioplasty and a breast lift on 4/21. I was just wondering what the average time to get back to "normal" is? Normal as in having normal range of motion back with your arms, being able to bed over without discomfort due to the lift, ect. Because everything is so tight right now and my boobs have never been this tight. Thanks

Finally on the other side.

My next item is a brachioplasty. I want that badly. But first I need to recover from my breast augmentation and extended tummy tuck.My next procedure will be a belt lipectomy and then eventually my legs! My arms and breasts were what bothered me the most, so that was what I wanted done first! Thanks for the pictures! -
He has given me restrictions and all. I can't lift over my head and no more than 5 lbs. I was just curious on range of motion and stuff like that. Thanks!

I just had a brachioplasty and breast lift on 4/21. -
Thank you. I have my follow up appointment in the morning, so in going to be asking what to use. I will mention the tea tree stuff and see what he thinks. I just used warm Water on Sunday night, didn't shower last night because I had some other issues and was worn out and not well, tonight I used some of what they had me shower with the night before and morning of the surgery. I want to do all I can to not have any infections or issues at all!! I love putting tea tree oil in my shampoo and I use it for several other things also!! ????

Well I had my brachioplasty and breast lift yesterday. We got home about 9 or so last night. It went good and I have absolutely no regrets, but I am so very sore. Not really any pain, but just sore. If that makes sense. Have to keep compression garments on for 72 hours and then I can take off and take a bath.
-
Thank you! That's the way my look, dried blood and dried glue mixed together. Lol. I will probably wash line daily also, but I had a tough evening last night with horrible constipation, that I was so worn out and didn't shower last night lol. I've got some of that soap that I had to use when I got my body piercings, so I will use that tonight. Thank you so much!

I have my follow up appointment tomorrow, so u know I will have answers tomorrow, but I have a few questions. What do I use to wash the incisions with? I just used warm water the other night because I didn't know what to use. Also, how often do I need to wash them? Thankfully from what I can tell, my dr used glue and/or tape to seal the incisions, so stitches that I can see, so I'm hoping that will help with the scars being minimal!

Thank you! I know that they will fade and I knew going into it what to expect (I watched surgery videos and looked at pictures), but until you see it on yourself, it doesn't seem real. Lol. My dr said for best results keep the scars out of the sun for 2 years which I plan on doing, but I can't wait to wear sleeveless or short sleeves which I haven't in years because of my wings. And my surgery was only Thursday, so I have just begun to heal and I Know it will get better. I just want it to be better overnight. Lol. Thanks for sharing ladies!!

Finally got to take a shower tonight and saw my scars and swelling for the first time. Wow is all I can say. I know the swelling will go down and the scars will fade, after all I'm only 72 hours out of surgery, but man oh man. I feel like Frankenstein! Not a pretty sight at all!

Thanks! I had hubby takes pics of my boobs and arms which is the only surgery at the time. I'm trying to get up the nerve to post. I keep apologizing to him that my boobs look ugly and I want them to look pretty for him, etc etc. He says its alright and I know he is right, but he is a boob guy and I feel he is disappointed even though I know he isn't because he knew what they would look like during the healing process as did it.
-
Thanks. The scares aren't really that bad on my arms, but my boobs looks so bad and I kept apologizing to my husband for the way they looked lol. Yeah I have lots of swelling and bruising, but I know I'm the end all of it will be a distant memory and will all be worth it!!
-
Yea, I know it will be worth it, just not pretty in the beginning. I had a breast lift and a brachioplasty done Thursday. Yea the shower felt wonderful, but I was exhausted afterward! Lol.
-
Thanks for all the helpful information. I will definitely be getting some tape. I am so surprised that I have no pain. I'm just sore and uncomfortable. I finally get to take a shower tonight and I am so excited about it too. I'm ready to feel fresh, clean hair and I'm also excited to see my arms and boobs! I know I will probably freak out about the scars but my dr explained that they heal very nicely so to not worry. I'm loving feeling my boobs, because they are so firm and I love that!!!!

Here it is 6:22 am and my surgery is at 10:30 this morning! I am nervous and excited at the same time!! Saying goodbye to my deflated balloons and bat wings!! Thoughts and prayers would be appreciated!!

I'm scheduled to have my brachioplasty next Thursday 4/21 along with a breast lift and removing the side fat where my bra strap lays.
