Hey guys ... well I went in for my first fill on Thursday. I am down a total of 12lbs, was very disappointed, thought I should be down more and I haven't even cheated, started exercising and everything, oh well 12 lbs is 12 lbs. Dr. Chae said I was right on track and doing very well. Then I had the fill, he makes you wait after the fill and drink a full glass of water. I have the 10cc band he gave me 3cc's, I made it through about 3 sips of water and lost it. So he took 1 1/2cc's out, that was much better, but now I think he might have taken to much out. 2 days of liquids and I am about to starve, hopefully when I am back on solids it will go better, if not I will see if he will up my fill a little. Jtag, good luck on Thursday, keep us posted on how it goes. Plents, I totally understand on the time to workout, I hate to get up early and by the end of the work day I am so tired I can't even think about moving more.
  2. Thenume, I was banded the same day you were, my Dr. has restricted on sit ups, twisting, pilates, heavy weights for now. I go in for my first fill next week, I am hoping he will release me then to start doing some, if not all of those things. Check with your Dr. before you do anything very big.
  3. LOL, who;s you sound just like my husband!!!!! Thanks for all of the info. I went at lunch and signed up for our local rec center that has a pool, all sorts of classes, etc. Will take it slow until I see my Doc next week, getting my first fill then. Good luck everyone
  4. JM .... Thanks for the info. Good Luck
  5. OK First off you guys are amazing .... I am 22 days post-op, starting out VERY slow only 9 lbs lost, but I am not working out yet .... A few questions, how soon after your surgery date did you start excercising? My doctor has limited me to light activities for now, not sure why and definitly no crunches. I would love to start a program like this and start with a trainer, but a little scared to with his restrictions. Any thoughts? Meegon

Kelly the nutritionist in Dr. Chae's office said he doesn't fill lightly, I will get 5 cc's on my first fill. I don't know what my band is, I will have to ask him when I go in. Go to edit signature under quick links, then go to tickerfactory.com, pick your ticker press next, pick your slide etc. If you still have trouble let me know, it took me forever to figure it out. Have you started working out?

You know you're ready for a fill when:

I'm scheduled for my first fill on Nov. 1, 2007, a little nervous about it, but, I agree it can not come fast enough. It seems like I am back to eating almost as before I had the surgery, and that scares me even more than the fill does!!!!!

Wow .... 2 months out and 34 lbs. that is amazing, I hope mine starts coming off that fast. I have not had a fill yet, my first one will be Nov. 1st. Dr. Chae likes to wait at least a month before he does a fill. I agree on the new lifestyle, I have been so happy since I had it done, definitly something I can control. Dr. Chae and his whole staff are wonderful, I don't think I could have picked a better doctor. Why the unfill were you loosing to fast? Keep up the good work and keep us posted on your progress.

Congrat's on passing your psych consult. It is a major adjustment in your life, as long as you have a great support system and a positive attitude you will do great, and it sounds like you have both of those. Good Luck

OMG that is so cool, almost 30 lbs in a little over a month, I am amazed. You are doing great, I hope I am a successful. Will this be your first fill? Kelly was telling me on my post op appt. that Dr. Chae doesn't fill lightly, he goes for the big fills when he does it. Keep up the good work and keep me posted.

    1 week post-op...I made it!!!

Congrats .... 16 days post op here. I loved Yoplait Light Smoothies, they go down easy and keep me satisfied. I still have some port pain, it seems to get better everyday. The fatigue will take a few more days to clear up, the last two days have been my best days for not being just totally wiped out. I had so much energy yesterday, I even start working out, a little .... Hang in there it will get better. Good Luck

    Salads

I was just givin the go ahead to start any solids that I thought I could handle. Have tried several veggies, but not lettuce yet, it kinda frightens me. Haven't had any trouble with anything so far, (fingers crossed). I keep reading about PB/slime, can anyone tell me what that is?

Good afternoon fellow bandsters .... I am so excited to find this site, what a great place !!!!! A little about me, I was banded Oct. 1, 2007, by Dr. Frank Chae. At my post-op appt. I had lost 10 lbs, with my 1st fill expected Nov. 9th. Being a newbie, I have not experienced alot yet with the band, liquids, mushy food, learning to chew very slowly, and NO liquids with meals, but I can already to tell you, this was the best decision I have ever made for myself .... Excercise is my next big challenge, hoping that gets off to just as great a start as the first leg of this incredible journey. Anyway, just wanted to drop by introduce myself and say hi to everyone. Meegon :kiss
