Alcohol and Weightloss
Stevehud replied to Cape Crooner's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
All ill say is this. When you post how you cheat and do stupid shit you arent supposed to, Good for you! because you are obviosly old hat at this stuff and have no problems with food and drink. You already know it all and have been nutritionists and surgeons your whole lives and were never FAT. SO heres the bottom , line When you fail, Its your fault. you obviously dont want to listen and thats your failure and you will live with it. So lash out at those who tell you not to do the stupid shit if you want. But we wil succeed and you will blame everyone else for your own failures. So enjoy it. when the honeymoon and the bullshit ends, You will have no one else to blame but yourself for not listening. Drink up! Eat Up!, F*ck Up then Give up! have a great time doing it. After all rules are for other people. I wont fail at this, and Im not going to give a shit that you wil. Im out. if anyone would like me for anything ill check back in a few weeks, there's too many seriously dumb new people here and I have had to question whether they are real or just trolls and that sad. Because i dont believe half of the people who post this carp are real. Not at all. No Pics, no proifle, no dates, unrealistic weights, no surgeons, no tickers , not nothing and no idea what this is about. So like someone i respect suggested, its time to walk away for awhile. Peace, and have a great weekend. . -
Alcohol and Weightloss
Stevehud replied to Cape Crooner's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
sorry nothing "releases weight. I do notice you seem to post a lot about alcohol. Can i ask why you drink so much? -
You might want to include more information, as in, what did you eat, how much did you eat, what type of surgery did you have and when?

yes definitely baking powder. lol as i said i wouldnt really say there are a cake per se, they are more of a, thicker bread pudding. if you under microwave them, then like a thicker creme brulee or custard i guess. i will say this, after you mix the "batter" if you lick the spoon and it doesn't taste good, then you wont like the taste of the final result either. so it is one of those things. i do think the taste is better with sugar free creamer, because im not an almond milk fan. But for people wh like almond milk, then hey go for it. -
im starting the C25K app in two weeks to get prepped for a spring 5k. and i hope to play in a over 40 soccer league this summer. so i need to build up some more running stamina.

as i said, you have to be able to digest them, some people can , some cant. , as with all things what works for one persons diet may not work for another. And i only recommend carbs etc after you hit goal. i use the flat out flats for my hummus pizza http://imgur.com/Awa9GIX

Yeah 1600 calories? it sounds like your trying to gain not lose? which is where weight training comes in, Is it possible you're gaining muscle and losing fat? Absolutely. if you want to lose, then lose if you want to swap fat for muscle then the number really isnt going to matter. i average about 800 to 1000 calories a day, and i do 45 mins to an hour ( usually around 12 to 15 miles ) on an exercise bike at high revs and intervals 6 days a week. ( even god rested on the 7th day lol) and even at that your body gets used to how its being run and i might lose a pound every two weeks or so. Unfortunately you are long past the honeymoons stages, and id have to ask not just how many calories you are taking in, but from what? just straight up Proteins? are you eating grains? how many carbs? any sugars? how much fat? etc. Its not as simple as the calorie deficit, thats been totally disproven. the human body isnt just a fireplace, its a chemical factory and the wrong calories will make the weight not come off.

dont just wait until stage 4, wait until you hit goal or are damn close. Theres no reason to introduce bread into your diet until you are trying to maintain. You need to maximize your weight loss and carbs are the enemy. Well one of them anyway.

i love em, i eat the flat-out hungry girl fold its wheat ones. i eat them with turkey brgers, chicken burgers etc , some jalapenos, a little chipotle sauce etc. the wraps are a little big, i use them for my fish or veggie tacos. i literally buy this things multi-packs each week, but im an maintenance and i didnt start touching them until 10 months post op. I still cant do regular bread it just sits like a spongey rock. but these i have no probs with. I also recommend the josephs wraps and pits with the flax seed, Omega 3's etc very low carbs etc, make wonderful veggie burritos etc. if your at goal etc. https://www.josephsbakery.com/shop/flax-oat-bran-whole-wheat-square-lavash.html https://www.josephsbakery.com/shop/flax-oat-bran-and-whole-wheat/flax-oat-bran-whole-wheat-pita-bread.html

Preop diet in a house full of people eating whatever

Be strong. You can and will do this! -
Look people, this is the internet, It will never be confused with the Hague. It will never be a bastion of lovey dovey touchy feely crap. This is realism at its finest. If you are afraid of responses , tough. If you dont like someone, ignore them, Its a simple concept. We support each others weight loss here. Just because we dont support each other financially or have differing opinions has no bearing on whether or not we want someone to succeed. On the contrary, we want to help people succeed and in turn be helped to succeed ourselves. If you have a problem with something someone said, take a step back and look into the mirror, chances are it is you who have the problem, not them. Unless you are being attacked as a person, in which case, fine. report them and be done with it. God knows ive had my run-ins and arguments, and yes some people just know how to push my buttons, but those are MY buttons. So just get over yourself, this isn't Dr Phil and we aren't going to kiss each other and pick out matching china patterns any time soon. If you need help with your WLS, and you ask for it, you'll get it. If you ask for advice you will get it, whether you like the advice you get, is all on you.

Real intimacy isn't sex, so how do you get there?
Stevehud replied to OKCPirate's topic in Singles Forum
ill also say this a lot of people say you cant last if you find people online. My wife and I met on AOL online back in the dial-up days of 1996 , moved in together 6 months later, were married in 1998 and are happier than all get out with each other. She is my rock and I am hers. it matters not where you meet or how you meet. Love does not require a specific location. Enjoy Pirate! -
New Study Says People with WLS are generally....
Stevehud posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Okay so Im watching the news yesterday while at the gym, Well reading the captions anyway. And it comes up that a new study shows that people who are successful with weight loss surgery, aside from having health concerns lessened etc, also have a much lowr rate of depression and are much happier with a better outlook on life. Well DUH!!! I mean seriously someone actually studied this!, So let me get this straight, if i lose weight, can be active, dont have all the pains and hospitalizations etc, ill be happier? Holy Cow! Who would have thought that would be the case? On a serious note, though it is good to see that maybe things will start to sway in the direction of doing what we all know, and that is WLS is not something to be shunned or kept outside of the norm, but that it can be embraced as a meaningful way for people to take charge of their life and gain the life we desperately need and want. We have all earned the right to be Happy, Now we have the Proof! http://www.latimes.com/science/sciencenow/la-sci-sn-bariatric-surgery-mental-health-20160112-story.html . -
trust me I know what you are talking about. I am now a thrift shop nut. I picked yup a pair of Versace jeans mint condition for 7 bucks, i wear 7 for all humanity, lucky, diesel, Rockin republic etc. i picked up a few Armani shirts, Hilfiger, Tommy Bahama, etc friends and co-workers have called me a "fashion bitch" lol i never had anything fashionable to wear because i always shopped at big and tall places. Now i look in a mirror ( especially in changing rooms) and since i still dont recognize myself, ( body dysmorphia at its finest) i revel in looking good. Im trying not to let it go to my head, but its fun as well. lol

Just be aware, as it has been mentioned several times, due to the decrease in area of the stomach the absorption rates in the gut from alcohol are about 7 times faster for sleevers. as such alcohol hits you about 7 times harder. No disrespect to the gentleman above, but i find it hard to beleive, since 8 to 10 drinks would make an absolute lush, drunk. And id have to say why on earth would you have 8 to 10 drinks? are you trying to fail? that's like 5 thousand calories and all from sugars, give yourself a chance. Your not even at goal. why would you do that? To give some perspective one of my best friends is a bartender and as such, he has repeatedly told me about customers that have ben brought to his attention to not serve a lot to, and to serve very slowly to as they are sleeves and the establishments management makes sure those patrons don't have problems, since they once had a sleeve drink 3 shots in like 15 minutes and had to be taken to the ER. So please be very careful.

Do you have UES dysfunction
Stevehud replied to cclopes25's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You need to check with your surgeon, they will know quite well. also your barium swallow and other tests will show how well your esophagus works or doesnt. -
