20 grams of sugar? holy s*it thats a candy bar. if youre trying to lose weight how about sugar free please. unless you're trying to gain weight. Oh by the way do what your doctor says not what anyone else says. some doctors dont have issues with liver being in the way they just add another hole and do it that way. let your surgeon be your guide. good luck. you will do fine.

jeez lots of pills here lol. i take multivitamin twice a day with Iron, calcium chew twice a day, and Vitamin d once a week. thats it. My labs are perfect. between vitamin Water which loads you up on b Vitamins, and or an energy shot ( not 5 hour those are sooo expensive) i get plenty of extra vitamins and minerals elsewhere.

Enough drama . . . what's for dinner this week?!
Stevehud replied to gal friday's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
lets see tonight is deconstructed stuffed cabbage (love it barely 1 carb) tuesday, very lightly panko encrusted chicken tenders with a side of diced carrots. (6 carbs i can do that) wed-Ham slice 4 oz portion, with side of green Beans (3 carbs) thursday marinated chicken tips with side of corn (5 carbs) Friday food shopping night, probably be chopped sirloin ( aka hamburger patty ) with a side of diced carrots. (3 carbs i can live with that.) -

How to Pack a Weight Loss Surgery Friendly Lunch
Stevehud replied to Sally Johnston's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
i dunno seems like a lot of carbs there, i mean bread rice, etc. maybe its geared more for maintenance stages? Oh and if sanyone is wondering, capsicum is a substitute word for peppers, in this case im assuming Jalapenos since bell peppers have no actual capsicum in them, or very little, ( capsicum being the heat generating chemical in peppers.) -
Have you been re-sleeved? In Mexicali? Please tell me.
Stevehud replied to MakingTime's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
hmm never heard of a re-sleeve, i dont think its physically possible as the fundus which is removed in the initial sleeve, does not grow back, so i would be intrigued. i also dont think a second sleeve would help in any way as the food calorie thing doesnt change per se, and the hormone producing areas dont grow back either. certainly seems a bit... well. i dont know. -

Perplexed. Surgeon says no such thing as a "stall"
Stevehud replied to kndoster's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
ill say this whether asked or not, stalls are a term for non visible weight changes. But that doesn't mean there aren't body changes going on at the same time. So you can be burning fat and replacing fat weight with Water weight or muscle weight. so you can lose inches etc but not have a discernable weight loss for a specific time period. -
i used propel fitness Water to help when i had to pretty much never drank plain water. Just had my 3 month checkup today and everything is going great. So theres nothing wrong with drinking water like products just be careful about sugars etc. but it seems you are so goo for you and keep going it does get easier .

So today i weighed in at 265 pounds which now measure my lost weight at 97 pounds and gives me 95 to go. I have officially past the halfway mark, the tipping point, over the hump! To those awaiting surgery, or struggling those few days or so after post op, take it from me, the feeling is....indescribable. Every day we rewrite the pages n the book of our lives and make them better for us and those who love us. To be honest when i first started along this journey I repeatedly said if I could just get below 300 pounds it would be a huge success for me and I would be happy. But when you follow your plan and things o right, the outcome is well just great, and heck im not afraid to say when i hit my 100 pound loss in a few days (3.2 pounds left to go) I will probably be a bit emotional about it as well. So many people here have helped me get this far and I thank you all. and to those just starting out..You Can Do This!!

SYNTRAX NECTAR-Does anyone have any receipes or ideas of what this can be mixed with in addition to water.
Stevehud replied to TREVORSMOM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Now the nectar sweets i mix with 1% milk, those are choclate, vanilla torte and strawbery mousse as well as my beloved cappuccino. 5 to 6 oz of 1% milk 1 1/2 scoops of mix and blend to mix. love it. i will say in the summer using ice with a few small pieces of frozen fruit will be a big easy way to cool down, and with unsweetened iced tea really picks up the flavor especially strawberries and raspberries, even blue berries are good, mangoes though, oh the best. but i nevr use more than 3 or 4 pieces of fruit in a smoothie. -

Stevehud replied to TREVORSMOM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes indeed i consoder myself a Syntrax junkie. i love almost all the flavors nectars and sweets. except the grape (yech) but try mixing the fuzzy navel with diet lemonade or unsweetened or diet iced tea, you can mix almost all the fruit flavors with dit iced tea. or the diet lemonade. I also used to make a super Protein drink with 3 ounces of isopure black tea with lemon 3 ounces of unswwetened iced tea, and 1 1/2 scoops of syntrax fuzzy navel or lemonade. 40 grams of protein 1 6 ounce drink and mighty tasty. I have also used the black cheery propel fitness Water with cherry nectar, and the lifewater fuji apple pear with the green apple. -
Have you ever just gotten bored with eating?
Stevehud replied to brians34's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
trust me you are describing me perfectly except i have a shake for lunch most work days. but yep eating is now getting boring it is no longer something i look forward to. Which i guess is part of how we get past the need to eat for fun or to eat for taste etc. so i understand it. But yep it is very boring lol -
1 week post op protein problems....
Stevehud replied to 2bullymom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
genepro is a joke. its a lie they tell you to use much less Protein saying that their blend is like getting 30 grams of protein but they are saying that as if you cant absorb protein which isnt true so genepro right of is a very very bad idea it doesnt give you anywhere near enough protein which is probably why your body is starving itself along with dehydration. please do not rely on the GENEPRO or at least put in three to four times as much as it calls for. -
1 week post op protein problems....
Stevehud replied to 2bullymom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yep try the Syntrax fuzzy navel, ( i love the Cappuccino as well but thats with milk for m so its thicker,) but the fuzzy navel pink grapefruit and cherry and the apple even ( not the grape) all mix with Water and you can mix them with ike 5 ounces of water and do a scoop and a half of mix, so you get 39 grams of Protein in one 5 to 6 ounces serving so its much easier to fit in your little sleeve!. if you go the isopure ready made clear drinks, go with alpine punch and orange frost, and the black tea with lemon those are the good ones. -
lol that'll be a fun day indeed.

It really doesnt suck that is for sure.

Need some quick responses
Stevehud replied to Sunshyne3074's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Simple responses 1. Thank you for your heartwarming concern. 2. You need to operate on your attitude. 3. I had surgery for weight loss, when do you go in for a personality transplant? 4. (and my favorite), wow , your life must really suck to make you have to insult others to make yourself feel good. -
oh if your stuck on sodas but cant do carbonation i have a solution, you can buy the sodastream product mixes and mix them up with 1 liter of Water and bingo i use it for my red bull addiction, i use the red bull mix ( yes im allowed caffeine because it does not irritate my sleeve, im lucky i know) to make a bottle of red bull . they have all kinds of flavors for diet drinks. but id give i wasnt allowed caffeine until my 6 weeks post op. they do also have a caffeine free die coke version as well. i tried some carbonated beverage, but i can only take about 2 good sips before the burping is obnoxious and its not very comfortable. so i do without.

lol you can never stretch your stomach out to anywhere near the original size. period end of story. the fundus ( the elastic part of your stomach ) is removed gone, bye bye, it dont grow back, humans do not regenerate organs. Now your stomach will stretch a bit over time, but you will not stop that, it has to happen or else you wont take in enough nutrition. You will not get fat stretching your stomach you WILL get fat eating the wrong foods, like tix bars and cake and pizza and onion rings a, hmm miss those, etc etc.

Actually she is right to a point, many insurance agencies that would otherwise cover WLS do not cover it due to a specific exclusion rider chosen by the employer who offers the plan. this saves them money in their premiums, for example my wifes company excludes tufts from covering wls, so i had to pick up insurance through my company which has tufts, because my company does not exclude anything. Now i had a hard time but that was due to paperwork issues. Now my company has just been bought out by a company in another state and they ise BCBS of tx which does cover WLS, but i checked into it to see about the panniculectomy and was told by my new company that they exclude all wls surgeries and related surgeries as well as fertility treatments, ( not worried about that lol) Now some states do not allow exclusions but they are few and far between, new hampshire is one, i think indiana, and washington, but dont quote me on those.

Frozen meals - lean cuisine weight watchers...
Stevehud replied to MamaTo3inNH's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
personally i tried using lean cuisine ( stay away from the atkins meals they are LOADED in sugar and carbs) but only two met my requirements, Swedish meatballs, and meatloaf, my nutritionist agreed that in a pinch like if i forgot lunch at work etc, i could eat just the meatballs out of the Swedish meatballs one, ( comes with noodles which i dont eat) but i found it easier to just make a bunch of small meatballs and pre-package them and freeze some for those occasions. but i do tend to fall back and have a Protein shake for lunch at work, on like 4 times a week which my nutritionist hates, but It really helps me, and i dont get a break for lunch so i need something i can make easily and quickly and a shake works great. But thats me. just my opinion. enjoy. -
Only losing 1lbs a day
Stevehud replied to nikki1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
comparing weight loss to others will only lead in heartache, you wont lose as fast as some or as slowly as others, its the way it is. your weight loss is to get to a goal weight. if you set too many mini goals you'll get discouraged easily, same if you just have one goal then the task can seem too daunting. Take it as it comes, follow your plan and be happy with your results.
