Stevehud replied to Biloxigirl's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Mine e's dec 16th love it so far -
for me ham chicken nd ground beef are easy peasy, turkey not so much lol, and nevermind steak or whole cuts of bef. but ham because of its moistness works great, the thing is, how fast are you eating it, if you're not taking that 1/2 to eat it, you are eating too fast and thats why you vomit.

it is undeniable. when you see a single man in their late 30's and 40's you have to understand the reason they haven't found someone else is because they are assholes masquerading as men. their problems are so deep-rooted they can't be fixed by even the greatest compassion. Now i don't mean this of all men, just close to it. There are a few that were able to overcome their past problems, but not that many. Id like to give you wonderful ladies the five warning signs of an asshole male. here they are in no particular order. 1. He thinks a bar is an appropriate romantic date destination. 2. He has children from different women and doesn't pay child support to any of them. 3. He has other women's names ( not his mothers) tattooed on his body and shows them to you. 4. He doesn't own a tie or a suit, and thinks a tuxedo was the t-shirt he wore to the prom. 5. He tells you how to improve yourself or your life. if you witness these things, run, do not walk, just get away. It's just not worth it.

Want to Be Skinny? Start Acting Like It
Stevehud replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
I love the "another species" line. it hits home so well. when im at the gym for example the other day i surpassed ny goal and did 7+ mile sont he stationary bike on hills setting , and i felt so good about myself until i noticed this tour de france wanna be guy with a six pack and tank yop t shirt thing on him and about 15 years younger than me had done 20 miles on his bike, it was deflating. so i understand the need to focus on just the doing not other people. -
wait which one is the kid?

Kaiser's Class Action Lawsuit: Is Excess Skin Removal Cosmetic Surgery?
Stevehud replied to My Bariatric Life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
i can say this , my sister recently was forced to retire from one of the very very arge ins companies due to her MS. She was a nurse case manager. She has given this advice to me and we talk about it a lot. in order to get coverage you have to show the skin, either A. causes infections and rashes that are chronic ( usually 6 months of documentation) or for the panniculectomy if the skin interferes with sexual congress i.e. if it hangs down and hits your wee wee or hoo ha, in either of these cases it has to be covered as medically necessary otherwise its just cosmetic. I know from talking with my insurance they wil cover the panny if its touching my dingle dangle ( im in a weird mood , sue me) or if it becomes a source of chronic care 9 rashes, infections etc. -

i put this story on my blog but itts worth the quick retell. i was in walmart buying underwear because heck mine were floating on me, so just for giggles i grabbed a black suit jacket off the rack, and said to my wife " im just curious" and the damn thing fit beautifully. I was absolutely stunned. not only did it fit, but its the first time in my life i have been able to fit into something like that off the rack not in a big and tall section and not without needing alterations, or being labelled portly or wide cut etc. i actually kinda teared up for a second. weird such a moment in a walmart lol.

Hello all, some have contacted me because my Taste test videos were not working for them on ipads, iphones etc. Well that is due to the fact they used Adobe flash which is not supported by apple products. So I have now put all my taste test video up on easy to watch you tube. For those who may not know I do many taste tests of various Protein shakes and mixes etc. Enjoy! Thank you. You Can Do This! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9YtO83j45OsMIY1l1p_rNw/videos

I generally mind my own business when I meet a very obese person
Stevehud replied to CowgirlJane's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
its a denial thing, its how we enable ourselves to be who we are. I compare it to smoking. For many years while i smoked i would talk to other smokers and say " i dont even want to quit, I enjoy my cigarettes and i enjoy being a smoker." the truth that we dont admit or even see is that we are rationalizing our lifestyle by saying those things. We give ourselves a coping mechanism to why we are the way we are. So to say i enjoy my food and drink, well didnt we all? if we didnt enjoy it we wouldnt have been where we were/are. its a catch 22 in that respect. now while i do not tell people hey get WLS your fat. I cannot help but wonder if i had been talked to years before how much happier and healthier i would be now. Heck i used to walk with two canes and that was just over a year ago, now i ride 10 miles on a exercise bike. the diffferences are extreme, and i never knew this could even be possible. When people would say on tv and such, how much energy they have, i thought they were all just lying and saying it for advertising etc. but its the damn truth. -

Everyone becomes an offended party for somewhat different reasons. Whether it be a perception issue, or an incorrect tone used in the writing of a post. However my own pet peeve, if you will , is people who complain about other people complaining. If you do not like a post, or the grammar used in said post, then do not read it. The choice is yours, whether or not to read it, it is not up to you to require others to post in a manner that you like and feel comfortable with. This is not formal dining, nor is it a rational discourse on the human condition. It is an internet forum, and while openly acerbic, demeaning and/or expletive-laced insults, are not tolerated by those in power. There is leeway for somewhat contentious dialogue however. In the words of comedian Edward Murphy, "this ain't Burger King, You don't get it your way, you take what you get, or you don't get the Mother****** ." I trust this is a rational answer to your rant. Thank you. And have a wonderful day.

Of course I'm losing weight where I don't want to.
Stevehud replied to kyrickchick64's topic in Rants & Raves
lack of tissue or fat in the tailbone area is a real issue, i sit on coccyx cushions at work and at home, even the best office chair still makes me feel like someones trying to grab my colon via my butt whenever i get up. Worst is riding the exercise bike at the gym, every 10 minutes i have to adjust my butt or else it fels like the seat attempting to go where no man has gone before...or woman for that matter but i digress, There is that old saying "Rectum?" ""Nah I damned near killed em!" -
Difficulty Walking/balance/gait/hip problems
Stevehud replied to dominique's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
What your talking about does indeed sound like neuropathy, which has many causes. From disc issues, to spine issues, to more serious issues. I wont go into those as there is no need to scare anyone or be irresponsible. Suffice it to say, talk with your doctor. good luck. -

At what point do I seek out a consult?
Stevehud replied to Quest4TheNewMe's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Personally my surgeon has stated 12 to 18 months for plastics because after getting much lower your body needs to adjust to you atthe new weight before you surgically remove even more. Although for me, im probably only going to get away with a panniculectomy and were gonna have to show that it interferes with sex in order to qualify through insurance. any other skin will have to stay, no way to get that kind of cash or a loan since im already in a bankruptcy anyway. so ill live with it. -
Can I get a hug and maybe some guidance?
Stevehud replied to ilikecake2much's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Please remember this, ( a kis is just a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh...) oh wait sorry wandered off there. But, noi one here can make up your mind, you have to do a lot of soul searching. this is not something to be entered into lightly. Once altered you will NEVER be normal again. You can look great and feel great but your stomach cannot ever grow back. its not possible physically, ever period. That's a big burden to bear, so please do not tread lightly into these waters. If you have doubts, they will be magnified, if you cannot give up food as your friend, then do not do this. It takes more than just the want to be thin and buy new clothes ( although its fun as hell but i digress) its all about life-saving changes to make you into a happy and HEALTHY person. It's about shedding the fat person skin and becoming the you that you knew could exist but doesn't now. Its all up to you. We will be here for support and hugs, but like Smokey The Bear Says, Only you... -
After surgery care? Need your input!
Stevehud replied to Meghabyte's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
umm sounds to me like you went way over the deep end. diarrhea after surgery is not uncommon and usually subsides within a few days 3 to 5 usually. Surgeon do not follow up a few days later they expect you to follow up with them if needed and only if needed. two days after my surgery i was on the floor of my living room crying like a baby because i had a migraine so bad i would've done anything to make it stop, but i didn't call the surgeon because there is nothing surgical about it. So my wife emailed the nutritionist who had the nurse practitioner call my wife to have her go and get some liquid Tylenol, and she did and i got better after cold compresses and liquid Tylenol. ( btw works amazingly well, tastes like ass, but works so much faster than pills or gels etc.) The point here is, that you have to not freak out over something so mundane as diarrhea. good luck, keep moving forward in your journey. -
vomiting blood 6 weeks post op
Stevehud replied to hockeydog's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
could be lots of things, gastritis like you said, an ulcer which would be very bad, but that would give you blood not bloody flecks. sounds more like reflux or hiatal hernia type discomfort. as to the headache most post surgical type migraines, ( mine knocked me to the floor) are related to being dehydrated, chronic dehydration will cause chronic migraines. get your Fluid intake up. make sure you eat slowly and chew extra fully, etc. and talk to your doc. Good luck. -
honestly before i would go in for a manual disimpaction, i would try a fleet enema. Have someone who cares administer it if you can not do so on your own, , ther is a old saying hard hot and hellofa lot, basically squeeze that enema bottle hard make sure its as hot as you can stand ( do not burn yourself!) and lube it up well the tip that is, trust me, its the way to go. miralax can take days to work and doesnt work too well on very hard stools. good luck. (this is not medical advice nor is it intended to be such, it is not intended to treat any symptoms, diseases or conditions, and I in know way replace the advice of your own medical personnel.)

Stevehud replied to livingstone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
