Hi! first of all congratulations!! I wasn't told nothing about not being able to eat soup. In fact, I've been eating soup lately that includes cream of chicken plus chicken noodle soup. I have no problems eating soup. I had the sleeve surgery done. I hope you will be able to eat soup. Only thing that I was told not to eat so soon was stuff like chips (things that can poke the sleeve). But everything that can poke is carbs and I don't eat carbs if I can help it. Good Luck!

Excess skin - warning photos
nora72814 replied to AutumnPunkin's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
GIRL!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHOWING THOSE PICTURES!! You are brave, but who cares of our excessive skin?! (lol) You are skinny and I will be skinny someday soon also. I rather have my skin like that and be skinny and healthy. (if that makes any sense) I know that will be a issue w/the weight loss but you are gorgeous. Again, I rather have excessive skin and be healthy(skinny) than overweight and in bad health. Congratulations!!! and God Bless you girlfriend! GREAT JOB!!!!! -
Hello! I'm not here to say anything bad to you. But it seems that you are buying stuff that your not suppose to and bringing into your house. If you don't buy it and bring it into your house then there isn't anyway you can be eating it..correct? Just going to put a list of items that I have in my fridge to eat when I want to eat or when I'm really hungry. Protein shakes, boiled eggs, cheese sticks, turkey slices, sugar-free pudding, sugar-free Jello, yogurt, salad, sugarfree drink powders, lots of Water, chicken salad, tuna salad, etc. I know its hard believe me ive been there and I think we all struggle w/our eating habits. But I believe in the phrase "It's me time" and you have to begin love yourself enough to chose the right choices when it comes to eating and exercise. If we don't take care of our self who is going to take care of us? There will be times that we fall off the wagon but we must get back up, dust our self off and get back on the horse. (as they say). Good luck and God Bless!

@shbelter...its normal to be a emotional overwhelmed for any surgery. But again this was the best decision that I ever made for MYSELF. Of course I was nervous also, but I had a double mastectomy like 4 yrs ago and I don't think no other surgery is going to be worse for me than that one. That surgery was to safe my life and once again this surgery was again to safe my life. You will do good and will be relief once you are on our side. Please keep up posted on your recovery and your journey. Bunch of GENTLE hugs....

Can't Lose Anymore Weight! :'(
nora72814 replied to nashiemmom's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey hi, THANK YOU so much for your question. I had my surgery 7/28/14 and believe me when I was reading your question I thought that was me. Ive hit a stall once again, and doing everything just like you. I will continue to do what i'm doing and going to wait for the weight to fall off. I know i'm losing only because my clothes is loose and gone down a couple of sizes. But it is true we are building muscle. Again thank you for asking that question. I am happy to say that we will start losing the weight. Have a great day! -
Morning JM...I had the same exact experience. I had no complications and was able to drink w/o any problem. My first post surgery I had to see for myself on the xray machine of some sort that I have the sleeve done. I had to drink a liquid and was able to see the liquid go down my throat and stomach(size of it). So yes it is working, but still take it slow. I had some experience with drinking too fast or too much. Good luck and Congratulations!.

It's a total life changing that can be done. Be proud to be a sleever like the rest of us. (yes I think its gone to my head lol) God bless!!!

Has anyone lost it on a day when they just went crazy on eating? This past Saturday I just ate, ate and ate. I ate healthy but just ate! Isn't that crazy??? Has anyone had days like this? I didn't eat bad food, but I did eat turkey slices, cheese, boil eggs, sugar free popsicles. (stuff like this). I finally had to get up and go to the store to walk and get out of the house. Please tell me that WE all go thru these days.

What was your fat-based nickname as a child, and how did it make you feel?
nora72814 replied to LindafromFlorida's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had several my step dad would call me NONA or Blue Bear due to a robe that I had. They thought it was funny. My mother allowed him to call me that and said he was just playing. People don't think about what they say affects that person. I already had a dark secret inside of me in my childhood years. And there is where my weight increased. As the secret grew in years so did my weight. As a child I didn't have a say so what happened to me, but as a ADULT I HAVE A RIGHT TO SAY WHAT HAPPENS TO ME NOW! So I am living my life now. Sorry for the ranting on, but just hit a nerve on this top. Sorry again.. -
Great tasting protein shakes? Need input for which are the best brands.
nora72814 replied to Arlene G's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi...just needed to tell you about this Protein shakes that have 30grams of protein. They are called Premier Protein and you buy them from Sam's warehouse or costco stores. My favorite is chocolate no after taste whatsoever! They have vanilla and strawberry. They also have Protein Bars that have 15 grams of protein in them. shakes are 1g of sugar, 160 calories but 30 grams of protein. Hope you try them and love them. Good luck! -
Struggling with excercise
nora72814 replied to EvEisMySleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hi! I know exactly what you are going through, but I am doing my exercise everyday. My surgery was July 28th. I walked an hour everyday or I get on my Tony Little Gazelle machine. I also work 9 to 10 hours a day, but I have to exercise everyday. On weekends I take longer walks and I'm starting to love it. Only think I can tell you is that you have to make it a point to exercise everyday. Monday thru Friday I do the Gazelle an hour and on weekends I walk at a track. Good Luck to you. -
Hit a stall 3 wks out. GRRRRR!
nora72814 replied to mi75's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm also frustrated but I see that I'm not alone in the stall syndrome. I will take some information and apply to my eating and see if the stall is go away. I'm glad that I'm not alone in this. Keep moving everyone! -
I agree 100% with 1Day1Life4Now above. Everything that he said is exactly right. You have to shrink your liver for safety reason in surgery. Plus also they want you to lose weight for surgery and they want to see that you can lose weight. Plus everything else that he said. Good Luck on your journey.
