Kissifur, you are very lucky!

Such great information, thank you!

Wow, I really think it's funny how many of our mom's have the same train of thought. They were all cut from the same cloth. I'll probably NEVER tell her what I've done, it's easier than listening to her "all you need to do is watch what you eat and exercise".

Mexico is always an option, just a thought, I'm going next month!

Looking for a good plastic surgeon in Mexico with flight and hotel included with price.
Cody's mom replied to aninim's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
You'll be able to purchase a flight for cheaper than the surgeon's assistant will, unless cost isn't an issue for you, why do you want them to do it for you? They'll also be able to recommend a hotel at a reduced rate that they use. Asking them to do all this will only cost you more money. -
lose4life2, I think your mom is moonlighting as my mom. Scary!

What can I drink that doesn't have aspartame in it? Even the jello has aspartame in it and I can't tolerate the taste? -
Oh, that's good to know. I'd be interested in anyone else's suggestions on where to go as well.

Cosmed, they are in TJ and were highly recommended. I'll be going to them once I loose my weight for a refurbishing!

Yes, toot toot, pat pat, way to go, and can I throw in a a quick "how exciting".. Now how did you start? I would love to learn to run, but at my current state, I can barely walk very far. I saw two earlier post about someone who ran a mile with their son, and another person who ran for 20 consecutive minutes, and all I could think of was "wow look at them go, I hope I can do that one day".

I'm going to Mexico this fall as well, and have absolutley no concerns at all about going there.. There is a section on this site you can insert your doctors name and get all the reviews on him. When are you booking for and what Doctor. -
What are you most proud of since wls? Or what are you striving for? Most memorable moment?

I want to be able to ride properly again. Having horses and needing to ride almost everyday (that I'm home) having an extra 70 pounds on my body has thrown my balance out beyond comprehension. I have trouble walking out to catch them as I'm out of breath and in pain trying to climb the small hills where they graze, and I really want to be able to wear all the cute clothes available to girls of smaller sizes. I hate wearing my stretchy pants with boots and spurs. I also want to be able to get up on my horses without the aid of a mounting block, my arms just can't boost my butt up any more. So much to look forward to, A life of not hiding from the world I once knew and loved! -
My next question will be "puree foods". Is it only me that finds blending solid food with broth to eat makes a person a little nauseous? How did you do this? I keep thinking of the different stages required for this to work, and I think it's going to be quite difficult. I've tried four different protein shakes without sugar (with natural sweetners) and the after taste is horrible, and I'm having a hard time stomaching the thought of blended food. Maybe because I've never had children I find this more difficult..

I have a kind of funny question
Cody's mom replied to mentalistfan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good grief, here I am again thnking, okay if I could loose 17 pounds on the pre-op diet, maybe I don't need this done. I read how many people had problems and I'm truly spooked. I get a week off after my surgery is done, then I have to be back at work. Before the surgery I couldn't wait for it! Then during the pre-op I lost 17 lbs on my own (low carb diet) and I actually had a second thought about the surgery. Plus I had to stay 1 night alone at the hospital the night before, I was kind of freeked out. Then in the morning I was alsoo alone when the nurse came for me they dropped some kind of anti anxiety under my tongue before brining me to the OR. So while waiting in the waiting room I was like getting high on the drung, I was actually singing the whole time and then fell asleep. The worst part was when I woke up in the ICU, 5 tubes all over my body. After I saw my husband briefly (I was pretty much on anesthesia) I felt naussea so I pushed myself to sleep then the med team came to check on me every 3 hours, each time they injected insulin, take the blood preasure, inject medicine, check my blood sugar, my temperature. It's been 4 days like this until I kept woke up every 3 hours for more than a week later. 2 days later my psychiatrice came to visit me I actually told him that "You know maybe I made the wrong decision about this" but he didn't take it seriously (he cleared me for the surgery) he said, Oh, don't be silly, you're on anesthesia and pain killer, you'll be fine, it will change your life, you'll see. I stuck in bed for 4 days, the pain's actually gone on day 3 but I sill felt uncomfortable because of the tubes. I told myself, it's goning to be better tomorrow and tried to sleep early every night. Now I fall asleep at 11 pm and wake up at 6 am to embrace the new me everyday. And I think it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. -
How the Pre-op Diet is Feeling Post-op
Cody's mom replied to alwaysvegas's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Always Vegas - you said "So, by the end of the first full day home (fourth day since surgery) I was able to drink 56 oz total of shakes + Isopure and got like 80g of Protein. Protein is easy". You were drinking 56 oz of shakes and Isopure? Were the shakes protein and is the isopure protein? I go next month and am trying to get my ducks in a row with all the great advice I'm finding here and hopefully will have a succesful surgery and recovery, although I know everyone is different. Congratulations on your sleeve! I also do find having something a bit savory does taste great. I'm really big on spices, so adding different spices to a broth helps a lot for me. I can add a smidge of soy sauce, ginger, garlic powder, and onion powder and it has a great asian flair to the broth. For lunch today I added cumin, red chili powder, dried cilantro, dash of hot sauce (new tummy doesn't mind spices yay). Because I don't really feel hungry it does fill the flavor I was looking for with just broth. I love it! So, by the end of the first full day home (fourth day since surgery) I was able to drink 56 oz total of shakes + Isopure and got like 80g of protein. Protein is easy. -
I have a kind of funny question
Cody's mom replied to mentalistfan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
May I ask who your surgeon was? I'm booked with Dr. E Otiz. I'll be going alone, any words of advice? How did you do on the pre-op diet? I keep asking everyone this as that scares me more than the surgery itself. Were there any things that you wished you had brought with you that you hadn't? -

not losing very fast
Cody's mom replied to jtickle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Holy smokes, you have lost 53 pounds in two months, I think you're doing awesome. Don't beat yourself up, I think sometimes slow and steady wins the race, and who cares what the scale says, it's the inches that matter, and no matter what you've been told, size does matter, and your shrinking how exciting!!!!!
