  1. I was given liquid meds. Tonight I want to take a Tylenol PM so I was going to crush it and put it in pudding, but maybe the applesauce would slide down better.
  2. Hi Kevin, I was banded the same day and for the first three days I was fine. Today I am starving too. Right now my husband is making a pork roast dinner for the family and it smells sooooo good I am going to have to really try hard to imagine my shake as a plate of that dinner. I don't want them to stop living because of my situation and I honestly didn't think I would be this hungry. I'm just glad right now that he is actually taking care of the whole meal thing right now because I don't think I could do it. I guess if we realy want this to work (and I do) we just have to grin and bear it. So chin up!!!! We will make it!!! Bekkie
  3. I'm on day 4 and I am already dreaming of mushies but I also know that this is normal because lets face it, we wouldn't be here if we were liquid dieters. Hang in there. This too shall pass. Keep up the good work !!! Bekkie

  5. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea in June. I decided not to get the cpap because I was not comfortable with it plus I was told that the weight loss would cure the apnea. The surgeon required me to see the anesthesiologist before surgery because of the apnea but all went well and I was banded on Oct 16th with no complications. Good luck to you. Bekkie
  6. Hi to all, I am brand new to this site. I was banded yesterday. All went well. I am a little sore today. I switched over to Tylenol from percoset this afternoon. I have a little discomfort from the gas but it isn't too bad. Does it get worse ? I read a few postings about the gas and am a little worried this is not the end of it. Any one with info on what to expect in the next couple of days I would appreciate it. I'm excited for future. Thaks for listening. Bekkie

    Stomach Rumblings

I was banded yesterday and today my stomach started that. I"m glad I stumbled apon your post. Ay least we are not starving. lol Take Care Bekkie
  10. In my support group we had a woman who had gastric bypass surgery 7 years ago and gained back most of the weight. We were told buy the surgeon that no matter what surgery you choose there is the possibilty that the weight can be put back on. This is only a tool (a very good one though) any stomach can be stretched. This woman will not know which surgery she will be waking up with until the doctor gets in there and determines what his options are with scar tissue and what the previous surgeon did. I asked her why she was going through it again and what will be different. She said seven years ago she had no education about the surgery and was sent home with no information and only one follow up appointment to check her incision. Now by the time you have the surgery you have been going through about a year of classes and group meetings and nutrition appointments. I think these things better prepare you for what's ahead. The bottom line is that no matter what you decide it is still up to you to make it work. Good luck to you. Bekkie

    Surgery in 12 Days

I just had my surgery yesterday and I am feeling pretty good. Just a little pain. I didn't get all this info on the exercise. I was told I could go back to work after two weeks and not to do any heavy lifting, pushing or pulling for about a month. Just use commom sense. You wouldn't want to do anything to hurt youself. Good luck on your surgery. Bekkie
