Has anyone here had surgery with Scottsdale Healthcare Bariatric? Or with Dr. Robin Blackstone?

Dec 3rd here! When I got the call this morning to schedule I thought I was going to vomit! Feels real now! -
I'm a single mom with 2 full time kids, 8 &13. Does anyone find it difficult to feed for your kids while you are going through all your own stuff?

Since I am still in the getting knowledge stage, I was wondering if any of you who had the surgery are chefs or avid home cooks? Do you still cook? Do you like too? I'm a self proclaimed home chef and I love to entertain. Will I still be able or want to do that?

I had my psyche evaluation last week. It was brief, concise and to the point. She just wanted to be sure that I wasn't a suicidal person, that I had a good support system and that I understood the post surgery requirements. It was easy and the psyche was pleasant. But with all the being said I already see a therapist (since my divorce several years ago) & I see a psychiatrist for stress meds. She seemed very happy to hear that so maybe that's why it went so quick and easy.

Bariatric Surgery v the "Natural Way" (Long)

Menina, you took the words right out of my mouth! I too always and still do feel that if God forbid something happens because I wanted to do something as selfish and vain as WLS that God might punish me and I would be leaving my children! These thoughts are what have kept me from ever moving forward. Not anymore though. I try to fight those negative thoughts as best as I can. Good luck to you! -
4 month Sleeve Anniversary: 82 down, 77 to go.

Reading everyone's stories, life's journeys and pain touches me. I have a little part of each of you inside me, I just never realized it before. Always thought that my thing was eating.....now I'm thinking maybe it shouldn't be. I need to make something new and exciting my thing. Thank you everyone for your courageous good and sometimes sad/bad stories! -
Thanks all of you for your honest and helpful answers! So happy I found this site!

As I have stated several times on this site I'm new here so forgive me if my questions have already been asked by someone else. I'm not into exercising (shocker I'm sure) what happens if one doesn't exercise or keep a rather strict diet after the sleeve?

Transformed body but what about my mind?
bullymama replied to Jewells70's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm happy someone posted this as well. I have not had the surgery yet but I am very concerned that I won't know what to do with myself if I'm not thinking about food or eating it. Like the rest of us I have been down the extreme weight loss road before and I want this time to be the last time! Any suggestions from post op sleeves of what they do to keep from not going crazy? -
Dlf3 I am prepared but I had a big discussion with someone else who is considering the sleeve and they felt that they would not have to exercise (or very little), did not feel they needed to change their eating habits a lot and felt that they would not regain the weight.

Would you do it again if you knew....?

Most of your posts have been so helpful! I am so scared that I will have to become a different person and not in a good way. I just want to remain the fun food loving foodie and winey that I am but I want to know when to stop and not just eat, eat , eat all the time. -
Scared, Excited, and all feelings in between
bullymama posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Everyone I'm new to this site but so happy I found it! I'm in the early stages of preparing for surgery (got all paperwork just waiting on consult and date) so not sure if there has been anyone who posted these feelings so forgive me if I missed it. I'm a single mom with 2 kids, 8 & 13 and they don't have a good relationship with their dad. I'm so freaked out about dying from the wls and leaving them alone and them ending up with their father! I understand that being 41, with a 50 BMI and on blood pressure meds is not a good place to be either but I feel ok. Has anyone else been in this position? I'm also very nervous about my future relationship with food. I'm a devout foodie..love good food and wine. My biggest issue is quantity. I may be fat but I don't eat crap. Will I be able to still be a foodie? It seems silly but I'm scared of losing that part of me. With all this being said I am excited. I don't want to be the fat girl anymore. Any and all comments would be so greatly appreciated! -
