    Vitamin Melts

Do you purchase them as a set or individual? Does your insurance cover them? I had got vitamins through my Dr office and get them delivered once a month, but I'm not really loving them and therefore not consistently taking them. They were covered by my insurance and a good price.

I think I broke my scale...

24lbs is an awesome loss!!! You should be very proud...it all happens in time just keep following your plan. I was sleeved 7/17 and I'm down 56lbs, I can tell you the lbs come off when they are good and ready too! Best of luck and stay positive.
  3. Hi! I was sleeved 7/17, so far down 56lbs including the 6 from preop diet. I've been walking 2 miles every other day, but I have just added some running in. This past week was tough, felt like I had a lot of challenges food wise. The temptations in the house were getting to me and hard to resist. I was kind of beating myself up about it. So today I did my walk and clearing the slate. Not feeling guilty and letting it go. This is the best decision I ever made. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

    Darn Head Hunger

I have been feeling the same way. It's so hard not to treat yourself when other people in the house are. My parents live with us and they are junk food eaters (the reason why I'm this way) and not overweight. So right now in the fridge is a homemade apple pie and some left over cheesecake. I did have a taste of each, but now that little devil is trying to get me to have more. So far I have resisted, but it is difficult. Stay focused and think of this new future we have for ourselves!

    Aunt Flo?

I had mine during sleeve surgery and then came like normal the following month, but this month was different. It came earlier and has definitely been more intense, lasting longer and more cramps. I also hope this doesn't last long and regulates. Ugh!

    What is your goal?

I am 7 wks post op and I have to say being able to go on rides with my 6th and 19 month olds is the best thing ever an amazing feeling for sure.
  7. OK thanks. Yea I'm tracking through my fitness pal and I did go through the past couple days and like you I'm all over, especially when I exercise.
  8. Do you track your fat grams per day? I recently started using MG just to see what I was eating, previously I was just worried about protein. So yesterday while logging my dinner it notified me to try and stay under 22g of fat, so when I looked and saw for the day I was up to 31g of fat I was really surprised. I went through my whole day and found that my two turkey and cheese roll-ups were about 15g of fat! I now have to rethink my quick breakfast. What do you all do for a quick breakfast? Any ideas? I had a cooked egg today, only 7g of fat but I was satisfied with one. Oh, I'm 7 wks post op sleeve and down 47lbs. So I know I'm loosing but I want to make good food choices, ya know.

    Retro Fitness or Planet Fitness?

I agree with the previous post check them each out at the time you will most likely be going to see how busy it is and what kinds of machines are available. Plus I think each of them gives you a trial period. That way you make a good decision for you.

    eating too much?

I am also about 6 weeks out and started using MFP just to see where I was. I do get my protein in but come up short on water and calories. Most days I can get 600-650 and less if it's an exercise day. I'm down a total of 41lbs so I'm happy with that. I go back to work next week and hoping I can keep up ok because I have a very physical job.

    Full?

Yep same with liquids. I will get a little pain, discomfort feeling esp if I take too big a sip. I just have to wait a few minutes before taking another sip.
  12. In the beginning yes it will be that way. I'm 5 weeks out and can still only eat one scrambled egg or maybe 2oz of yogurt, soup, purée tuna. I have started getting 4-6 oz of protein shake at a time! It's hard to imagine ever being like this but I actually love it! I'm down 36 lbs and loving this new body!
  13. I remember my nut saying food should be cut into M&M size.
  14. I think it takes a while to get back into eating after being on all the liquids and protein shakes. But it is important to have food that tastes good. So start slow try things you liked before you may just have to alter the seasonings for taste?

    Full?

I usually feel a pressure on my chest, I will wait a few minutes and if it goes away I will take another bite and if not I'm full. It's helpful to measure or weigh things at first. I used the med cups 1-2 oz at a time.

    Drinking Water

I use the Mio squirts and it does help. I was an avid water drinker pre-op and now it's much harder to get it in. I just try to keep it cold and flavored and always have a full cup when I'm leaving the house.

    Moving to soft & moist

I like tuna mixed with tomato, I still pulse it a couple times to make it smoother. I also like hummus with red peppers, scrambled eggs with anything I can mush up! Try to keep foods as moist as possible, it helps it to go down with no issue. I still can't get 2oz of purée tuna in yet, but nice to have the textures.
  20. I do use the Benefiber in my shakes by the third day. My dr said every four days will be my new norm. I'm 4 wks out and still doing purée. I found a soup from Tabatnchick brand in the freezer section, it's a Tuscan Lentil so I purée it and it does help.
  21. I am 4 weeks out but have been walking for a while. I started doing 15 min in the morning and 15 min in the evening, the next week I increased to 20-25 min twice a day and now I do two 30 min or one longer walk. It's just about getting yourself in a routine and to a point where it becomes natural like brushing your teeth! Don't be so hard on yourself you can do this! Good Luck :-)
  22. I was in the same boat for my sleeve. I got the big meshy undies with the huge pad to go with! It wasn't too bad because I was so focused on waking after my surgery and everything else going on that it didn't seem to get it the way and by the time I was home it was gone. I had a 2 day stay. Good Luck to you!
  23. No mine didn't but they did give me a chart and a tape measure! So I did it pre op but haven't done it again, I think at my month goal I will do it again. I think measurements are a good idea because some people loose inches before lbs.
  24. I am 3 1/2 weeks post op and the purée is ok but still be careful of what you eat. I was also looking forward to mashed potatoes and my new stomach was not loving them! I even thinned them out with chicken broth and they made me so sick! I stick to eggs, yogurt, chicken soup, and a lentil soup, I will occasionally have some very moist fish. I was told I can have eggs and fish solid as long as they were kept moist. Good Luck ladies and guys. It is so worth it! I'm down 25lbs/total of 32lbs and counting!

    How long to drink shake?

I'm 3 wks po and it still takes me a while to drink my shake anywhere from 15-30min. Sometimes because I'm watching tv and sometimes it just takes a while to get it down. I can't take large sips(gulps).
