wow! I have a blockage in my intestines due to the surgery. I couldn't stop throwing up or having diahrea. I was so dehydrate it has been the worse now i have to stay in the hospital till it moves it way back. to its spot. what a terrible way to start thi new lifE! I hope you guys are doing better than me.[

Thanks guys, just got home from hospital yesterday. Three days in and I am feeling better, thank God! Had wonderful care still pretty weak, but starting to eat day three protein shakes, and cream of soups. So hopeful to be feeling back to normal soon. Thank you for yuor prayers, I really needed it:) (Sleeved Sept. 25,)

omg had my surgery on thursday. I have been in so much pain! I hope to be feeling better quickly! I hate how terrible I feel.

Wow! I work with someone that just loves running in another room to talk about me. She is the biggest back stabber. It's really quite sad for them. People act like they like her but say terrible things about her. The girl I know only has friends face to face but behind her back no one likes her. It's people like that I just want to just act like they don't exist. I am courteous because we have to work together. I can only say she must live a sad life at home with her husband. you guys are right who's next for the gossip chopping block. I just want to stay around positive people. I think she is waiting for me to come back to work to say thats all she lost blah blah blah. Lol I know I am loved and happy on the inside, this girl apparently is not.

Does anybody know if there is ever any complications with the titanium staples that they use to sew you up for the gstric sleeve? They stay in you forever, so I was just wondering if anyone ever has complications life long from them. I worry that it is a foriegn body in the stomach?

I have been thinking about it also. The metal gave me no problems, but any internal stitches I have had have always work their way out of my body. My orthopedic surgeon said my body just won't absorb them. Anyway, maybe we can find out some more about the staple. Lets research some more and keep in touch.

Well I am all set all preadmission stuff is done. Had last meeting with the doctor. All pretesting and boot camp for the big day! Yikes sept 25, is coming soo fast!

Well i can't believe it , got my approval letter from blue cross, blue shield yestereday!! It took less than a week for approval Sept 25, here I come! wonderful news, so happy!!!

Hey flipper my doctor told me not to be too worried about all the protein shakes and diet right now. He is afraid to that I might be too close to not qualifying if I lose weight. defenitelty two days before only clear liquids so thats good to know. My bmi is 40 as of right now so I am not losing my spot in the operating room for nothing! -

hi flipper I just got my date for the 25 too! I am afraid of leaks too. Ask your doctor if they do the swallow test. You have to drink some stuff before you go home at hospital and they see if you leak. My doctor doesn't do that, they put gas in stomach and see if anything bubbles before you leave operating room. Good luck! friend me we can do this together! Scared but so excited too! -
Well got my official surgery date, Sept 25, 2014.I can't believe it! Next is boot camp and they say I have to take a test to see if I pass a 25 question test?? Lots to prepare, having a little anxiety about how my body will handle it. help any other sleevers for this month?

Well today is a big day, I pick my surgery date! I am so scared and nervous. What ifs are trying to take over. Scared the insurance company won't approve me for some crazy reason. Yikes! Can't wait to see whats going to happen in this next couple of weeks! Have a great day everybody!

Hi my name is Nicole, I am looking to get sleeved in September as well. Waiting for surgery date and insurance to approve. Got all my testing done, going to see dietician and psychololgical evaluation next week. Then all paper work gets sent in.. YIKES! Scarey waiting for date and what insurance company will say. Doctor says Sept so here's hoping it all goes as planned. Support group I went to last night. My insurance requires only one that you have to go to. Hope to get to know all of you, support is the key I think to get through this. Good luck to all of us:) -
Today I am going to my first support group that is required for surgery. My husband wants to go feeling nervous about taking him and have no idea what to expect at meeting. As anybody gone to the supprt groups yet?

hi, I am new at this too. Had appointment with surgeon, got pretesting done, now its pschological , dietician and one support group left. My doctor says Sept but no official date yet. It's scarey and exciting all at the same time. Hopefully we will all be shedding lots of weight together soon! -

I am going for surgery in Sept, waiting for the exact date from surgeon. Got all testing done now waiting for results to schedule the surgery date. So excited but scared to death at the same time. Everything I do revolves around food. I need this surgery to get a grip on myself. I am trying to think how will I replace my old time friend, food? I am thinking exercise could be the key with my food addiction. I exercise now but not enough to ever burn the amount I put in.. I am hoping the dietician I have will be able to teach me to eat better. I have tried evey diet out there. I could be a dietician with all that I have learned but yet gain everything back when I get sick of doing that diet. i really need some support, thanks for any input out there.
