    fast food options

I haven't had the surgery yet but my surgeon told me I can have a chicken sandwich from any fast food place (Mcdonald, Wendy's etc ) just ask for it to be wrapped in lettuce instead of the bread. The chili from Wendy's is good. At El Pollo Loco or Chipotle u can order a burrito bowl, it pretty much the filling of the burrito in a bowl with no tortilla.

    GOAL! Flipogram of My Journey

Wow you look amazing. I am in the pre-op stages of getting the gastric sleeve. Hopefully by October I will have it done. But wow you did a great job and have come a long way. Definitely an inspiration to me.
  6. I an currently in the process of trying to get the gastric sleeve but I know several people who have had the lap band done and to answer your question no I do not think the lap band is a cake walk. I have heard of success stories but I have also heard of some scary ones as well. It takes longer for a person to loose weight with the band. And you don't lose as much as compared to the sleeve or the bypass. You also have to deal with slippage, erosion, and sometimes getting them adjusted and refilled. I've also heard there is a higher chance of gaining the weight back because you learn how to eat around it. I'd say it's a lot of maintenance with the band, but congrats to the ones who have made it work.

    Day 2 post op

I hope it gets better for you. Hopefully within a couple more days you will have more comfort. I haven't been sleeved yet. I'm planning going to have it done in September (fingers crossed). I am a little happy you posted this by the way because I know people who have had the surgery in the past and they tell me there's no pain :/. I know there is pain and they probably don't want to scare me but I like to know what to expect when it comes to the surgery. But good luck to you in your journey

Having kids after Gastric Sleeve Surgery ?

My doctor told me you can get pregnant after having the sleeve but he doesn't recommend trying to get pregnant the first 12 months after surgery seeing that we are trying to lose the weight and especially since in the first year after our bodies go through a big change and we are trying to keep in as much nutrients and proteins for ourselves. I can't imagine trying to keep in enough to carry a baby. But I also want to have another baby and that is one of the reasons why I am having the surgery besides other reasons of course.i don't think it's considered high risk though unless u have had other complications in the past. But good luck with your success

Is anyone months out from surgery?

Hi, my name is Dana I started my journey July 3rd, 2014. I am from Fresno, CA. I am going through a place called California Variations for my gastric sleeve surgery. My main requirements were to attend a seminar, meet the dietitian and do a psych evaluation. I have already completed the seminar and my psych evaluation and will be meeting with the dietitian August 13th, hopefully by then I can get approval from the insurance company and get a surgery date. I'm thinking sometime in September (fingers crossed)..if there's anyone who has questions or in need of a buddy I would love to help
