Vomiting 2 weeks out - stomach bug or something else?
blackjetta12 replied to Hannah Lee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I believe you may have a virus however I would lay off the watermelon. When you feel as though you are ging to vomit place a cold compress under your chin across the throat area. I had a reaction to apple juice but the vomiting only last a few minutes. Eat some crushed ice and lots of Water to avoid dehydration. If this issue continues please contact your doctor. I am sure someone is on call. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year -

Welcome to the site. You have been blessed with a wonderful opportunity for a better life. I had my surgery last September and have lost 75 lbs. My goal is another 25 lbs by the end of this month. Mostly because i had to stop working out due to a leg injury. Although i continued to lose i would have lost more . My biggest issue was finding the right protein powder. The smell of several made me sick. Protein definitely drives your weight loss and you will see greater results. I found syntha-6. It is wonderful. It taste like a milkshake. I actually use it as a dessert whenever i have a craving. I use water and fruit and sometimes skim or almond milk. Just stick to whatever your doctor and nutritionist states and you will be find. I had little pain when sitting or standing up after surgery but it only lasted a week. The hardest for me right now is how fast my clothes size is changing so shop for cheap clothing because your size cash decrease in a matter of days. Let me know how you make out and good luck with your surgery. -
Hello Fab All is going good. I am glad to hear you are doing well. I had to stop working out due to a knee injury but I have lost 66 lbs. 44lbs from losing 100 lbs. It is amazing one day your clothes git and the next week they fall off. When I started out I was in a size 30/32 and currently wearing a 20. My hardest challenge is working out to firm up my skin. Keep up the good work. Talk to you soon

Thanks angel I am on my 4th week post surgery. Its hard for me to tell when I an full so I have been working hard not to eat too much but most of the time I have no appetite. I am currently on smooth foods and scheduled this week to meet with my doctor to transition to regular food. I return to work in two weeks for a total of six weeks. I have lost between 36 and 38 lbs since my first visit to doctor in August. I have no regrets my goal is to lose 150 lbs. I am looking forward to the future of losing being healthier and maintaining after I reach my goal. You have done extremely well. Its individuals like you that give me hope.

That is remarkable. Congratulations and Happy Birthday..what has been the hardest part of your journey.

You are absolutely correct. This is my third week since surgery and you think you feel okay until you get out and start moving around. There is a whole new level of pain after week two. The tightness in your abdomen and several others. I will be off six weeks before returning to work.

I had my surgery on 9/16 . Was discharged on yesterday. All is well. Very little pain and no gas pain do far. I have liquid morphine for pain since I am allergic to vicodin. Was able to get in 4 ounces of protein this morning . Working to drink 4 ounces every three hours in addition to other liquids approved on my list. Hope everyone is doing great...

Ramuse and sweetchin _ I am glad to hear you guys are doing fine.So far no major issues with the September Club. My surgery is this week 9/16. We keep everyone posted.
-
I agree with tmarie3. My surgeon writes out the request for 8 weeks. The reason for the eight weeks is because the healing is both physical and emotional. He states your body will go through several stages and there will be times that you look in the mirror and will not recognize yourself. He also does it because he wants you to return to work eating regular foods which makes the transition back into the real world as we know it. My company covers my pay 100 percent for 4 weeks and 70 percent up to 12 weeks after. I am taking minimum six weeks and I am an Analyst

Way to go Ramuse. My date is Tuesday 9/16. Good luck to you.

Shelly 79 hang in there. It's funny when you are preparing and going thru your psych visit, nutition, and all the others in your head you know the day will eventually come but once you get the call that the date is set reality starts to set in. I think about all the thousands of dollars spent on the clothes I have in my closet that will be donated. I also think about the unknown of what my body will become as I head down this road. The surgery does not scare me. I am sure there will be some pain . Life after surgery is my worry. But when I think about the healthier side of what my life will become I smile and all the other worries go away. My clothes will be donated to the Women's shelter in Atlanta, some will go to the consignment stores where I hope to make a little money to buy the new clothes I will need and my weight center has a clothes closet where you can trade the clothes you can no longer fit for those you can. This journey is scary the fear of the unknown. What's wonderful is finding other's you can share your thoughts with , find support and support others which is what I love about this blog/site. Good luck and we'll wishes to everyone.
