14 months out and it is a roar at any given time! I can be in a meeting and/or in bed with my husband! I am no longer embarrassed! It is kinda funny cause I often say what was that? ????????????

Yeah thanks for the post! It is always good read about somebody else's experiences and grow. Congratulations to you for a job well done! Keep it moving!

Tell them to suck rocks! Then you keep it moving! The easy way out it to continue failing at dieting and die an early death! This is a lifetime of work!

I just gave some more of my clothing to charity! My wardrobe has shrunk so much over the last year! I am still working towards my weight loss goal!
-
That doesn't make any sense! The 6 months are traditionally used to test your commitment to the process. People are often denied because they don't lose weight. Fight!
-
You are doing great! Keep on your plan! I personally have not reach 100 pound loss as I believed would happen after 13 months of being sleeved! However, I am getting there and should reach goal by Christmas which will be the best present ever! Keep it moving!

Does the first time hurt the worst? Inner-demons
LadyK44 replied to theother_onefoot's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone is different. I've been sleeved for almost 14 months! Every day can be a challenge when it comes to food. It takes a lot to make a choice not to over eat and/or eat the wrong things! Find activity that you enjoy and use that as a substitute. Something healthy like walking, reading, or writing. I enjoy working out and writing. -
Congrats and great job!

No one warns you not to fall of the Gurnee just before your operation while you are scooting over to the operation table! -

Congrats to you for making the choice! I have been sleeved for over a year and just coming out of a 3 month stall! You learn about those soon! This is one of the best choices I have made my health! -
I did have drains but they did not hurt when they came out! For me it was easiest part of this process! But I can understand how it might be hard for anyone else! I suggest taking your pain med 30 minutes!

Thank you for this! I am smaller than ever but not at goal! At 13 months you help fuel my hope that reaching my goal is possible! Congratulations to you! I have around 30 pounds left! I lost almost 100 pounds and life is moving!!!! -
Men in my office notice but after our last sexual harassment training they are afraid to say anything! For example, I was talking about losing weight to another female colleague. A gentleman that we work with walked up and said "you lost weight wow congratulations." But then he hesitated, I told him it was okay "I don't think that you are sexually harassing me." Everyone laugh and the day went on! The work environment can be crazy, funny and stressful!

When people ask "what is your secret" I tell them "I don't have one!" After a year, I really don't feel the need to review my weight loss history with everyone. I am so ready to move forward to a new city, job and life.

Feeling Like a Failure
LadyK44 replied to NYCVSGGirl87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stop feeling like a failure and take control. You are the only person that can stop what goes into your mouth and the only one that can make you body move! Brush yourself off and get over the "why me!" Start over you still have your sleeve and you've done good so far. Get back to the basics! You can do it! -
Afraid I'll gain the weight back...
LadyK44 replied to sweettea's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Literally after almost dying twice this year, I was sleeved August 2014 , I don't fear anything. Every day I'm thinking about what I'm putting in my body and what am I doing to improve my life. I have an upcoming surgery which will require me to be down for four 1/2 weeks. All I can do is plan my meals and moved forward! Sleeved life is a part of everyday life! I am just happy that I don't require extra support and/or bigger wheelchairs/beds as they wheel me into the operating room. Live life and become your health best! -
Your reaction fuels their energy! Live your life and find real friends. Keep moving forward and ignore the drama.

I think the sleeve was way worse than my c-section! I woke up in pain and took pain meds for weeks! I would do it again and have no regrets! Good luck to you!

Vet update from a slow loser
LadyK44 replied to Lilu's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am so happy that you guys wrote about this! I will be a year sleeved August 1, 2015. I have been so sad because I have not made my goal! I have lost almost 100 pounds and still have 30 or so to go. I read about people losing so much more weight in a shorter amount of time! I know in my head that I've done okay! In my heart I still feel down! I often feel kind of bipolar. Well I'm not going to give up I'm just going to celebrate like heck when I reach goal! I've been on medication that made me gain weight and I've had to stop working out several times due to other health conditions! I just want the rest of this weight off now. I will keep working on it. Keep it moving everyone! -
