What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
LadyK44 replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My sister was 10 years older than me! When I went to her funeral, her daughter-in-law said "you look just like your sister." I had started this weight-loss journey with her! At that time I was pre-sleeved! I did not tell our family about my surgery that would happen 4 months later. She died of a massive heart attack after returning home from the gym. That was April 2014. I am not at goal but in a better place with my health. I have not seen the rest of my family in two years. I don’t physical look like her anymore body wise and less each day. I miss her and it hurts. I am not ready to die yet too! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App -
I am working my way back too! I still need to lose 48 pounds (which is a little child). I have spent the last six weeks exceriseing, drinking Water and eating healthy things. I am constantly telling my head to get back on track. It is working but slower than I thought the scale is moving down. I was off due to depression and several post-sleeve operations. Yeah I gained and now I am losing. I will never give up! This is the first time that I admitted gaining. This has not been easy but this tool is very helpful. You know you lost weight when
LadyK44 replied to Thomas CPA's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
When your are walking to your office on jean day and the jeans you been wearing for the last month keep almost falling off! I did not think that I needed a belt. Lol -
For me the c-section was much easier! I remember waking up in pain after my sleeve. I was in my hospital room telling the nurses. I got plenty of pain meds for 2 1/2 days in the hospital. For me the pain lasted 2 plus week!s! After my c-section I did not take any pain meds. Everyone is different!

Is returning to work after 5 days reasonable?
LadyK44 replied to ld33's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Like many said before everyone is different. I went back to work after 11 days. I was miserable but I made it. It was not pretty. Be careful listen to your doctor and body. -
It was/is a hard decision! There is nothing wrong with your choice! It is your body and life. After years of dieting and trying to get healthy I am finding great success being sleeved. It is a process. I am not the poster child for the sleeve. However, I am getting to a heathy place. I have no regrets. It is a permanent choice. It is and was your choice!

Bummed Out After Watching "My 600 Lb Life: Where Are They Now?"
LadyK44 replied to Proud2BMe's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have a love hate relationship with this show! The thing that I tell myself is "get moving." I am on my way back to the gym in under two hours! This is a lifestyle choice! -

Done too! -
I am not an expert. I think you can achieve your goals it just might take longer than you expected. I have spent countless hours reading every story I can fine about life after sleeve surgery! I found that some people take longer to reach goal. I've seen people who do not reach goal until year 3. I think the most important part is that you never give up, consistently monitor monitor your diet and exercise. Remind yourself that this is a lifetime of making good choices. Seek medical advice and continue to reach out in the community. You've done great and congratulations!

Before And After Gastric Sleeve Surgery Photos
LadyK44 replied to StacyS's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks! I need to get real about my eating habits again but I live in the house of junk food and it can be really hard. I'd like to lose about 60 more lbs. That would put me in the 150 range. I really understand the house of junk food thing! My kids are 14! There is less junk food than before but it is still in our house! In the last few weeks I have started buying myself things like tuna fish! I still need to lose about 40 pounds. It will happen but it is harder with increased temptations. Drinking Water is helping too! -
I too had a Hysterectomy after being sleeved! With my sleeve everyone kepted telling me I was going to have so much energy. However, that did not happen until after I had the hysterectomy. Both surgeries have helped save my life!

Questions for Alcohol Drinkers ONLY!
LadyK44 replied to Cape Crooner's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow people! This life is all about personal choices. There are people here who drink that is their choice. There are people who never drink again that is their choice . Medically there is conflicting research on drinking after having the sleeve. There is not a person on this site that has not made an unhealthy life choice. So why is this becoming so nasty? No reason! Every one gab a freaking mirror!!! -

My husband and I are both sleeved. We had our procedures around 6 weeks apart. His job is more physical than mind and he took off 2 weeks. We are both happy with our sleeved lives. Good luck to the both of you.
