  1. It is a big difference for me from 269to190. I am 5'6" and I look longer/smaller. My goal is between 140 to 150. I will be at six months sleeved on 2/1. I always have to work on my body image. I can not let myself see that same 269lbs woman in the mirror every morning. My distorted body image is one of the reasons after weight loss I gain everything thing back. I know this is a long hard fight in my case.

    Alcohol intake

The biggest issue with alcohol is cross-addiction. Work with you doctor and learn about your own habits.

    Post op pain

I had a lot of pain for about four or five weeks. I went back to work in 11 days. It sucked. But I would do it again down a total of 80 pounds. For me it hurt like H. I took a lot of prescription medications which helped. ????

    Success Photos!

Wow you have done great. I agree you are an inspiration to many of us who are still on this weighloss journey. Thanks
  11. I just wanted to say. "Effortless" is the wrong word for most of us on this journey. I think see most of us work hard at becoming healthier and staying that way. You have your own very unique experience. I can respect that and even repeat to others. However learn today for the other 99.00/100 this requires a lifetime of effort and a complete lifestyle change. Additionally long-term success depends primary on commitment to change. Food is addictive and most fat people are addicted. I hope you have continued success.
  12. For me being sleeved has not been easy. The sleeve can stop the amount I eat at a time. However it does not stop me from eating junk all day. I just don't do that. WLS is a tool in my new life. It has not cured my food addiction which I battle daily. I wish my WLS didn't take this much work. It will be a lifetime of effort and making healthy choices. Hay but that is just my experience!

  15. I just want to know are you really sick?
  16. In the office I feel like the spokesman for WLS. I really did tell a lot of people. Somehow everyone knows. I don't care. I answer questions and give my limited experience. I live in one body and use it as my reference. I look and feel different after lossing almost 80 pounds. If I can help someone else I will.
  17. Congrats to you both . My husband and I are also sleeved. We are working forward towards our goals. Thank you for sharing and being an inspiration.

Mochax it sounds like you are doing great. You are learning about life being sleeved. Your sister is probably dealing with her own issues related to you being sleeved. She maybe unsure how it's going to play into your relationship. I suggest you just take this day by day. I am not an expert. However, I have learned that being sleeved is working for me. I am changing my life and increasing my happiness over all. Give yourself a break and remember this not another diet. Change takes time.

    African American Sleevers

Mochax! You have completed the first step in having the surgery. Now It's time to move forward on creating your healthier lifestyle. I am 3 months post-op today. It has not been easy. I miss fried foods. However, I have more energy and happiness. Some days I just want to eat my happy foods. Then I think about how unhealthy my body had gotten. I felt like crap most days. For me, that the reason why I did this. I did not want to feel sleepy and crappie. I am now getting healthy. Sometimes, I still eat the bad stuff. However, I don't live off junk or excuses anymore. The weight will come off. Stalls are normal. You just have to do your part. We are all here to help each other. Tell us more about what is going on!

    Alcohol intake

I had a long island ice tea. It use to take four from my favorite restaurant to get a buzz. However, after one I was feeling fine at 9 weeks post-op. I will have one more at 12 weeks on Friday. Lol But you have to set limits. Know your body and mind. Be careful!
