Hi everyone! I had my sleeve surgery this past Monday, 7/21/14. I decided to join the community as I already have questions about what I'm feeling physically and emotionally.
I have been overweight my entire adult life. The last reasonable weight I can remember ( which is now my goal weight) was apx 145 lbs around age 19-20, My weight increased over the next seven years. by the time I was pregnant at 27, I was apx 185 lbs .After that I was officially ( in my own eyes) huge at 252 post delivery. So, since I was 27, I have hovered btw 242-252. I got a grip on my eating enough to always "watch it" and maintain at 242. Tough work for the only cook in the family, and a foodie with all foodie friends and family. So, about 9 yrs ago I made an appt for a consultation for banding. My insurance was not having it, and honestly, I wasn't ready. I was still serious about my affair with food,
Fast forward, the kids are grown and out of the house, and I'm tired...of being tired.
I am actually very healthy, no illnesses, no disease, no medications. But I don't feel strong. I wanna be able to try anything now, with nothing weighing me down. And even more reason, both of my parents were morbidly obese, developed type II diabetes and both died too young as a result of complications. So in Feb, I got serious, and made another consult appt...followed the req's for my insurance...and here I am.
So I'm gonna follow the rules and turn off the tv and lose this weight!
