Revision from sleeve to Rny bc of gerd
kimdlawson06 replied to Maria Castillo's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had a revision on 11/5 due to GERD and regain due to my thyroid. I noticed the difference immediately. However the past few days I noticed slight discomfort but nothing like before. I’m a little concerned because it’s been 3 weeks and I’m only down 13 pounds. -
I agree. If your body isn't getting enough nutrients it literally hold on to every calorie. Take a look at this article. https://www.womenshealthmag.com/weight-loss/a19998301/what-is-starvation-mode/

Hello. I had a revision on 11/5 and my GERD went away immediately. I’ve had a few instances where I felt slight heartburn but it went away quickly. -
Thanks!

I had my surgery on Nov 5th as well. I hope all is going well. How long are you required to do clear liquids post-op? -
Thank you! How long will you be on full liquids before going to puree?
-
Hello! I'm just curious. I had surgery this past Friday and was told I had to do clear liquids for 2 weeks. It seems as if some people don't have the same requirement. How soon were you told that you could start full liquids?

I know! I’m excited but nervous. I keep hearing that you don’t lose as much weight during a revision. -

I was sleeved in December and now my daughter is trying to get approval for the bypass. Our first appointment was March which counts toward the 90 day supervised diet requirement. She missed April due to being away at college and had her second appointment this week. Does the March appointment still count since she missed April? We're hoping to get it done early July before fall classes start!

I too have Hashimoto which makes it difficult to loose weight. I had the sleeve a little over 3 years ago and I've gained about 15 pounds back. It started when my medication and levels got out of whack! I've been struggling every since. I'm thinking of looking into the Keto diet. Don't know much about it. Thanks for sharing. -
What can happen if I cheated on post op diet?
kimdlawson06 replied to Little Bee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have heard differs people say similar things. I think it really depends on the person. I was physically unable to eat for a few weeks. Even liquid was extremely difficult. Also my surgeon use the smallest bougie (stomach) size to create my pouch. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
No regrets for me. My largest size was 16 in pants but that's the heaviest I'd ever been without being pregnant. 12 months out and I'm down to a size 8.
