My kids love to slap my arms and watch them jiggle!! They think it's hilarious! I'm so used to it that I literally sit there and let them have fun with it! Lol -
Great stuff ladies! I was sleeved Dec 31st so I consider myself a Jan 2015 sleeved. Why not? Lol I too need to recommit myself although I still have really good restriction. Good luck!

My once curvy butt has gone into hiding!! -
I was sleeved in December. Haven't been heavy my whole life and started at a pretty low BMI. My daughter on the other hand, is pretty heavy. She's 19 year old college student and just got approved for surgery! She's 5 hours away, so we're scheduling surgery for Christmas break when she'll be home six weeks. Is that enough time for her to recover or should we wait until next summer? She has a dorm that has a full kitchen and private bath so I'm hoping I can help her get set with all she needs there too. How soon after RNY did you start feeling better? Are we moving too fast?

Luckily our clinic has a location in the same town as her school. If not, it wouldn't possible so were lucky in that regard. I really appreciate the advise.

Help! Got questions about my daughter!
kimdlawson06 replied to kimdlawson06's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Luckily, the clinic also has a location near her college where she can do the follow ups. She's also in a dorm that has a fully functional kitchen that she can prepare food, purée, etc. thanks so much for the information. It's so worrisome when it's your kid! ???? -
Freaking out about surgery!
kimdlawson06 replied to CocoBelle's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
From what I've read in conjunction with my own experience, it's very individual. It can be pretty scary knowing you'll go to sleep and then wake up changed forever. My friend and I had surgery the same week. My pain was pretty bad while she did not have as much. Very individual. -

What is one guilty pleasure you cannot give up
kimdlawson06 replied to AussieSam's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I love sweets! You name it, cakes, donuts, etc! I can no longer eat it like I used to (thank God), but I will indulge in a small amount depending on how "good" I've been all day. Luckily it's a lot easier to resist than I thought! But I think not having it at all just wouldn't work for me. -

Pain in large incision area worsening

I'm four months out and had the same issue. It took forever for it to feel better and took about 6 weeks for it to be tolerable. -
BCBS Federal Insurance Authorization
kimdlawson06 replied to mskathrynls's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have the same insurance and also had the same BMI, 36 but 33 during the past 2 years. I was also told I had to wait but a friend suggested I try another surgical practice. They really worked hard to stress my comorbidities. I had hbp and was prediabetic. I was approved on the first try! Don't take no for an answer and find a new surgeon! -
My experience nearly one year post-op, low bmi'er, success!
kimdlawson06 replied to Butterflyhigh's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You look amazing and happy. That's what's important. I too had a low bmi, starting weight 232 and I'm four and a half months out. Down 50 pounds so far. Like you, I'm trying to enjoy the journey and giving myself a year to reach goal. This made me excited to see what's to come!! -

Traveling! What can I bring on the plane!
kimdlawson06 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm traveling for work and I want to bring a ziplock bag with protein powder, quest bars, etc. Has anyone had experience bringing this on a plane in a carry on? That stuff is expensive and I don't want it thrown away! -

I felt the exact same way! I was miserable and didn't see any end in sight! Happy to report it does get better, you will be able to drink. And the pain will subside. I'll be three months out on the 31st of this month. Other than the extreme restriction, I'm pretty normal. I credit that to staying hydrated throughout the day. ????
