Amanda Lovell (Lady Splenda's Daughter age 18) is having surgery March 23rd at Houston.

I am at 177 and I asked my doctor what he expected for me to lose and he said twenty more pounds. I would still be around 160.I was hoping to be off insulin. I was hoping for 150 minimum 135 is my GOAL.I was hoping to be at least a size 12. Im not giving up that easy.He said the smaller you are when you have the surgery the harder it is to lose. WHY. I do not mean to sound ungreatfull but this surgery cost $45000.00 and I want to be Healthy.Does he have all the control on how much I lose or is it truly up to me? If it is up to me. Yes my insurance Paid fourty five thousand. No wounder insurance is so high.How can they offer a cheap cash price and charge the insurance companies so much. On the other hand if you go to the emergency room and have insurance they only have to pay part of the bill. If you are paying cash it is the full amount. Who makes these rules.

Well my baby (18) is going for her surgery consultation tommorrow. She will be having surgery the 23rd in Houston. She is so worried so she cried tonight.I am trying to calm her down. But I am worried for her to. She is having to see a heart specialist to regulate her blood presure. PRAYER PLEASE

I keep getting stuck first 200,188 183, and now 177 I would not mind being stuck at 150. Hope I get there.Are you doing protien shakes still??? How late are you eating?We are close at start size lets keep in touch.I know that I eat too late and that may be slowing me down.

Im a type 2 diabetic for 20 years age 42..This surgery was the best thing I could have ever done. Im down from 70 units and two Amaryl and two AVANDIA(Makes me gain weight) to 12 units of lantis and two Amaryl. Took me about two weeks after surgery for my leavels to regulate. First month I lost 20 lbs and I have lost another twenty since then.I FEEL GREAT AND MY SUGAR IS SO MUCH BETTER. I wish it was coming off faster but all in all I am very happy.Down from a size 22 to a 16. I may never be off all my meds but my specialist expects I will be off insulin in another twenty pounds.GOOD LUCK. If you are having trouble losing are you taking AVANDIA OR ACTOS??????? I could eat lettuce all day and still gain weight on Avandia. I have heard Actos is the same.

This is a great thread a little strange but still a great thread. After losing 40 lbs the FUPA is shrinking along with everything else.My husband said I am Hot mama now. My husband calls his Heada. :confused: I was banded December 1st and Mandy will have her surgery March 23rd. She is 18 and a senior this year. She had to have some heart test done before she was ok for surgey. If you remember she passes out when she exercises.He has to put her on Meds for low blood pressure. Roxann money is money if you can get him to do it for what the insurance pays.Go for it. My surgery did not cost me a dime.

I have been taking Biotin, Ambertose and using Nexion Shampoo.So far so good.My toe nails are even growing for the first time in a long time I have had to trim my nails.

I got stuck at 200 , 190 and then 188 for three weeks. Now Im stuck at 184. It is crasy even though I have lost 34 lbs in nine weeks. I feel the same way. I still see my self as FAT and have a hard time seeing myself any other way.

Well in November we sent in a year of docter supervised weight loss program and a phyc evaluation.If you will remember the ONLY reason Amanda was turned down was only because she had not turned 18 till Dec 24th. So On Jan 4th it was sent again and it got LOST. Sent again and got turned down because she had no phyc evaluation and doctors supervised weight loss program. Can you say RUN A ROUND. So surgery Spring break is probably not going to happen.This will be my third appeal and we may not apply again for twelve months.:faint: I will be filing a IRO if she gets turned down again. I was told 95% of IRO's get approved and the insurance company recieves a heafty fine if they are found to have turned down for stupid reasons. My husbands ex has been banded for 12 years.She is a size ten and doing great.Her band is not adjustable.

I was banded the same day.I am learning do not eat fast.I cannot eat steak or bread.I have had problems but I still love the fact I have lost almost 35 lbs.I eat a lot of weight watchers type meals and lots of liquids. I am not hungry at all.My fill is at 1cc.I could eat more. I just dont.I fill my tummy with low sugar juice and water,low fat pudding and pop corn, nuts and raw vegtables and ranch dressing.Salad got old real fast.Good luck. If I do eat to fast or to much I feel like a big hunk of meat is stuck in my throat. I need that so I do not over eat.Given the chance I know I will. I am so glad the band does not give me a chance. I had grilled chicken and beans last night at a resturant and I though I was going to lose it. SOOOO Painfull.I was wishing for a PB.We will learn in time.I still feel like this is the best choice for me and I hope you will also.It is hard and In feel your pain.

I went for my second fill.I have to drive about 100 miles and once again he only gave me 1/2 cc.I had very little restriction last time.(My first fill). Is to much is to fast the rule with band fills. Is 1/2 a cc the normal??? I have read most people hit thier Sweet spot around 2cc. I get free fills the first 90 days and maybe he is being tight with the fills and not my band. :hungry:

I did it without floro.He did give me a cup of water.I have resriction but if it is like the first time it only lasted a few days. There was a new nurse in his office that had never seen it done. We got to talking and she had had Gastric Bypass and she was tiny.I hope to be that size she looked great.He said it was possible.

I feel great. Started back to College after 16 years tonight.

I have the inamed band.I have restriction the first two or three days after that not much.

I had shoulder pain for about 14 days. Then it was gone. Liquid tylenol and walk.I went to see a chiroprator (SP???) Big Mistake.It will get better with time on it's own. Linda
