  1. Down 95.5 since my pre surgery diet which started mid April this year. Surgery was the first week of May. I stalled for almost a month, but this week I'm dropping fast. I made no changes, just rode it out. I'm in onederland which I truly knew I'd never see again before I made this choice. I'm "obese class 1" now. Still work to go, but I'm more than happy with my slow and steady approach.
  2. So true. I was ice cold only for beverages and HOT for anything "food" (broth)

I feel like I blew it

My "bad" wasn't the amount of food. It was my typical choices. Carb, carbs, carbs. Could have made some better choices. Add that to my sugary alcoholic beverages and it was a day of super not so great choices. My really BAD was carbonated alcoholic beverages. More than one. And I enjoyed them too easily. I've lost almost 90 pounds since April and I felt like I just stood at the top of a very slippery slope for myself. Remember, this is my tool but my long term success has to be my choices. And if I'm already trying to go around my tool, I'm afraid I'll be setting myself up for future failure. Stretching my pouch due to carbonation was a true concern for me though. I like having a restriction. In the moment I felt just like I have during every previous diet. Sabotage. Regret. Failure. But the amazing thing with this surgery is that yes, I felt like that. But the next day I didn't stay in my cycle of just screw it. Instead, I still had my typical restriction. I had my tiny meals, exercised, drank my water, and for my own personal mindset I tried on my beginning clothes which literally fell off my body. I'm good. Not as great as I'd like to be. And woah, the bloating from my 'bad' day was off the charts. Here we are 3 days out and my bloating is gone, I'm back on track, and I'm still able to shop at regular stores and not even in the plus section. Life is still amazing!

I feel like I blew it

I think it's because the alcohol went down so easily. Carbonation, not a problem. Sugary combination, not a problem. Like I dipped my toe in the water and hoped I'd get bit by a shark. But, nah, the water's fine. Come on in. I didn't want to really know that I'd have zero reaction to a high sugar drink. I'm doing better today. And biked 10 miles at the gym so I'm feeling better about myself for at least getting my butt there and doing it. It reset my head. Today's a new day.
  5. I ate decently: small amount of Turkey in small bites, a very small amount of dressing, two bites of mac n cheese... But later I ate a piece of pie with whipped cream. Almost a whole small sliver. And I had 3 alcohol drinks throughout the day (from 12-8pm). Now I have the typical fat, shameful remorse that i always have had after pigging out. But I now have the additional fear DID I RUIN WHAT I HAVE COME THIS FAR WITH? I'm 6.5 mos out. What if I stretched out my sleeve with two glasses of champagne. I drank s-l-o-w but it's still bubbly. Tomorrow has to be a restart day. Protein shakes, water, water, water. I didn't think holidays would be this hard. I thought it'd be me chatting with all the family and hearing how great I look (motivation before dining). But our plans fell through and...I messed up.

Post op pain - be honest

I was same day outpatient surgery. That day (Thurs) and the following (Fri) I stayed medicated with the meds sent home. Saturday I was at my kids soccer and baseball games all day and Sunday was a repeat with multiple games all over town. I tired more easily but pain wasn't unbearable at all.

    Any MAY sleevers???

5/3/18 Hw 286 Sw 258 Cw 199 Started size 26 Current pants size 12/14 Yes, I'm a horrible patient. Yes, I forget and break rules left and right. But with this, I'm able to get right back on track like I'm supposed to and enjoy success in my new life
  8. I went home same day. Surgery on Thursday, stayed in bed at home Friday, and by Saturday and Sunday I was at the fields watching my kids: soccer and baseball games. I had no issues at all post surgery.
  9. I will be so happy to be allowed salad and fresh fruit in 6 more weeks!!! I'm stuck on the same foods over and over and still only getting literally three bites in before being full. It makes prepping food seem pointless. I know I'll have more room as I heal. For now I just push through. I eat about 1/4 of a lf baby bel cheese dipped in hummus. A tablespoon of Refried beans with a little cheese and juice from salsa. I bought soft protein bars from my Dr I can eat about 4 bites of that. A whole one is 15g protein. I've been eating the same one 3 days now. I tried chicken salad a week or two ago but it was too rich for me. I'll try again this week probably. I'm bored with foods and protein drinks make me gag. But each day my tastes change so I will keep on trying. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. I had a great recovery from surgery. Was out at kids baseball and soccer games two days later. But at week three I felt awful. Ended up being a blood sugar issue. This coming Sunday marks my one month surgiversary. I'm taking my kids to the pool and amusement park daily. I'm a little more ready for bed now around 9 or 10 instead of 11pm but that's also due to the heat and sun. 8 kids don't care about my energy level, they just want to go go go. So we go.
  11. I have the exact same story. I know once I'm able to control my own diet it'll become second nature and it'll be rewarding. But for now the stomach pain and nausea after eating very small amounts, very slowly are hard to deal with. I can say that I'm not quite at a month out and I have lost 30lbs so I appreciate at least I have something to show for my aches and pain.
  12. That's crazy too. But I get it. I'm just happy to be back to feeling "me".
  13. I've been taking sl b12 qd since day 7. I do think they help overall but not like the apple juice did for my blood sugar.
  14. 3/4 cup all natural apple juice + 1/4 cup water. 8 oz total.
  15. I'd you don't have a glucose meter available, you might try the juice and just see how you feel. Before I was struggling getting through a day of doing nothing but trying to stay hydrated. Now I'm ready to hydrate, work on protein, and get some treadmill time for steps. It's that big of a difference!
