What was your level of PAIN?
mchap25 replied to jadama22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maggiemayuk, I too had referred pain. It was no picnic but manageable with Meds. I can't compare it to my C-Section because I had major complications from that and they put extra in my spinal. I didn't feel anything for 2 days. -
Sleeve and gas pains
mchap25 replied to xxjosettexx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Be sure to walk, walk, walk. This helped me the most with that feeling. Day 3-4 were much better. -
Cranky sleeve: need some advice please
mchap25 replied to mchap25's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My doc sent me home with Zofran and I use it when I need to. The French onion soup sounds fantastic! I'm just backing off and going with what my sleeve can handle. -
Recently sleeved needs positive energy
mchap25 replied to rear624's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It gets better! You've come this far and you can do it! -
I can only drink iced tea. The sweetened things, even jello and Popsicles, make me nauseous.

Looking for comforting words
mchap25 replied to jennjarrid's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to postpone 6 weeks because insurance didn't approve me in time to do pre-op prep and surgery in time for my Spring Break. The time will go quickly and will still be the right time for you! Hang in there! -
Cranky sleeve: need some advice please
mchap25 replied to mchap25's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I get diarrhea when I eat those things. The potato worries me too so I only have it once a week. I can have refried beans so that helps as well. Thanks for all the input everyone! I feel better that I'm still on the right track and need to realize we all are different and I shouldn't compare to myself to others. -
Hi! I'm new to this but I'm ready for this!
mchap25 replied to Running2theSleeve's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi and welcome! I didn't have any precursors either and my BMI was 49. I am BCBS IL as well. I was sleeved at a BCBS center of Excellence so I was approved quickly after the 6 mos prep. -
best vitamins/best tasting vitamins
mchap25 replied to chopsitter's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm on Celebrate too and the multivitamin makes me nauseous. The Calcium, iron, and B12 are fine though. Definitely will find another multi when this bottle is done. -
Depends on your insurance and surgeon's program. I had 6 months of prep work which included monthly visits to my primary doc, nutritionist, and physical therapist. Only had to do social worker once. After that it only took a month to get the surgery scheduled. I had to have cardio clearance too.

Have you ever tried Teavana?
mchap25 replied to likelike's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Decaf iced tea is the only drink my sleeve can handle. Water and Crystal light make me sick. I do drink weak tea though. I miss water so much! -
If you can do it, that's awesome! I'm 3 weeks and still having a hard time. I loved premier protein pre-op and can't handle it now. So far Syntrax nectar is my tummy's choice but it doesn't have as much protein so I need more.

Almost 3 weeks post-op Muscle question
mchap25 replied to sarahlyn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same here and I'm almost 3 weeks as well. -
My doc gave me a prescription for zofran upon leaving the hospital. I used it for the first 3-4 days. The only liquid I could and still tolerate the best is iced tea. (Other than protein drinks)

My tummy only likes ice cold drinks as well.

Anyone tried Celebrate vitamins
mchap25 replied to lauragp74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on Celebrate and do well with them. The multi makes me a little nauseous but it only lasts a few minutes and resolves with a sip of tea. -
Let's talk about this 6 month WL program
mchap25 replied to Allens Comedy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It goes quickly and you will learn valuable tools to help make surgery a success. They want to see that you will make necessary changes for success. So many programs don't require this and many of those people gain the weight back, don't lose, or put their health in further danger. Relax and enjoy the journey! -
Low Sodium V8 on preop diet?
mchap25 replied to chelleshocked's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, it was on mine and I loved it! -
I'm the same way. Two weeks out tomorrow and I nap in the afternoon and sleep 8-9 hours at night.

Time in hospital? Pain?
mchap25 replied to bigfatgoodbye's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was in 1 night and went home the next evening. I used my pain pump from surgery until the next morning to stay ahead of pain, which was tolerable. Day 3 and 4 were my hardest with gas and heartburn. I would not have been able to work that soon. Everyone is different though so just listen to your body. -
My BMI was 50. In one week after surgery my weight loss took 4 points off to 46. Congrats everyone! Maybe we will go from BMIs of Texas to BMIs of Delaware!

Sad about missing food
mchap25 replied to Mcgann320's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for sharing! Sleeved June 1 and dealing with the same issue. I'm finding out how addicted to food I really was and what a huge emotional eater I was. Now I'm connecting to myself and that is more powerful than anything! Of course I have to give myself this pep talk A LOT! -
3 days post op and it's the worst day yet!
mchap25 replied to jaxmom1974's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I can't stand water so decaf iced tea has been my fluid source. Weird since prior to surgery I had 120 oz of water daily. -
I'm day 10 and can't have peanut butter for 9 more weeks. Syntrax makes a peanut butter cookie protein drink. I'm considering trying that.
-
My doc has me on 20mg daily for 3 months whether I need it or not. She said I can go to 40 mg if needed.
