That exact thing happened to one of my banded friends - she would wake up choking, unable to catch her breathe. She let it go on for several weeks and then it got so bad she called her doctor's office after-hours. Her doctor told her she needed to go get an complete unfill ASAP. It turned out she had something stuck. When they unfilled her it passed through on its own and luckily she didn't need to have surgery. She had to stay unfilled for a few weeks to let her band recover from the obstruction and now she's perfectly fine again. I recommend you call your doctor as soon as possible because you might have an obstruction....good luck! You'll be fine.

Hi Everyone! I got banded 3 weeks ago but just discovered this website - I wish I had known about it a long time ago! Oh well. Anyway, I am also a single bandster, so figured I'd stop into this thread and say "hello"! I haven't dated very much in the last few months (I moved to a new city for work - Houston - about a year ago and still don't know very many people here, which hurts the love life) but just put my profile on eharmony.com. We'll see how that goes - I've never done the whole online dating thing, but I'm sick of tagging along with work friends (and their spouses) on the weekends or renting movies from Blockbuster to watch all by my lonesome. I was banded on a Thursday morning and had a really hard time sitting up from a laying down position for about 4 days (pretty severe pain). So your pain is totally normal. After the 4th day I felt a whole lot better and only experienced pain when I would bend or stretch a certain way. I had the same concerns as you over showering but figured if the doc said it was okay, they are the expert and should know. I had no problems. So go ahead and shower...I'm sure your friends and family will thank you!
