It took me two years to lose the 100 pounds that I needed to lose. I needed to change things up often in order to keep my body from getting too used to the program. Try varying your daily calorie count, vary your exercise, increase the intensity of your exercise, add a fast day and add a day with a higher carb count. Mix things up. It worked for me but it took time. As long as each year is a little lighter and healthier than the year before, you are on the right track.

Don't give up. Even if it takes you years to get to goal, keep trying. It took me two years to get to goal. I did get a therapist to help me keep focused once I was getting really frustrated. -
I need help keeping this secret!

I only told a few people but people talk. When you lose weight, many people assume you've had surgery. Just figure out your canned answer to the question "how are you losing weight?" My answer was always eat less, move more. -

GeekMomChanging replied to nakole73's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It WILL get better and then the 3-4 weeks of sucky will seem like a very small price to pay. You can do it. It will be worth it. -

Oh my gosh, if you're a failure then we should all be failures. You have done amazingly well. You literally saved your life. Focus on being as fit as you can and stop focusing on the number. -
Wow!

Talk to your doc. Education is always good. I would think your insurance should cover based on your bmi if they cover at all. It was not a miracle cure but so far it's the best decision I could have made. Good luck. -

You will be so glad you made this decision. You would like a lovely young woman and you need your outside yo match your inside. The first few weeks will be tough as you'll be tired but in the grand scheme of things, it's a mere blink in time. Make certain you grab all the help you can especially in the first year. Make it count. You can do it. Prayers be with you. -

Congrats! I have been stuck at 162 for months due to snacking. I already work out quite a lot. What strategies have helped with the snacking? How did you find a therapist that you liked?
