12 months out! FINALLY
Jeannette Anndaisia replied to shelly513's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I can totally relate to the buying enough food for two at the drive-thru and the snacks at Wawa and 7-Eleven. I never paused to think about what I was doing. I guess I thought because I was already fat it did not matter what I ate. You look Terrific! Congratulations! Are you going to have a party to celebrate your success? -
June 30th Surgery Date
Jeannette Anndaisia replied to BrwnsugabayB's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@Bratface1005: Hello! Yes. I feel the same way. I am not hungry in the morning nor by lunch. However, I eat in response to weakness. Now yesterday I had a boiled egg for breakfast and then I did not eat again until dinner. However, after I ate dinner, about two hours later I was hungry again. It's a little annoying but I guess we just have to adjust to the changes in our digestive system and try to make sure we take in enough nutrients. My suggestion is, if you are still hungry that you eat something very low in calories. Plus, we are supposed to condition ourselves to eat six small meals a day when we are in the maintenance phase. So even if you are not hungry, eat on a schedule and see how that works. -
my family is telling me to stop loosing weight :(
Jeannette Anndaisia replied to gruiz27's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Don't listen to them on that. They are so used to seeing you at that weight that now you look strange to them. You lose as much as you want. Later on they will readjust to the new you. I remember when I first got my lap band. Some friends actually said "ill" at the thought of seeing me at a normal weight. Besides that, it is not as if you have a whole lot of choice. What's done is done. You had the surgery. Short of sabotaging yourself by taking in a lot high calories, you are going to lose the weight. Congratulations! -

Sleeve doubles in size after 1 year?
Jeannette Anndaisia replied to luvzpitbullz's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I did a sleeve from a lap band. Yes you will grieve the loss of food at first. I did. When I told my cousin I needed a support group to help me grieve, she laughed. She did not understand. Food was by best friend and I did not even know it. Now I have to find a new friend. However, it has helped me understand a friend of mine who uses the gym as her best friend. I have decided to trade my hoagie for the Elliptical. You will get used to it and actually learn to like the new measure of control, even though achieved secondary to your loss of stomach volume. BTW, your life won't end (I know where you're coming from). You will just develop a different relationship with food, and learn how to use and enjoy it without it becoming a detriment to your health. It's already happening for me and I'm only 4 weeks in. Blessings and Success on your Journey! Hi, I'm a new sleeve candidate and I know I shouldn't be on here but I need some help - I REALLY want to do sleeve surgery but I am extremely scared that my 'life' will end. (I do love food) It's a bad place to be I know but can anyone help with this fear? Does your attitude towards food change over time??? Or will I grieve the loss of a painful but loving 'friend' -

Lol. Me too. It's strange to see the amount of food I can eat now compared to before. -

June 30th Surgery Date
Jeannette Anndaisia replied to BrwnsugabayB's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi! I got sleeved on June 30. Band revision. So glad he was able to do it all on the same day. Lost 30lbs so far. Trying not to go nuts though, scale and clock watching. I have to learn some patience. How are you doing? -
If there was a Class Action Lawsuit against the band....
Jeannette Anndaisia replied to Nursebarbie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes! I would certainly join. And no! I was never told that the band was not meant to be permanent. I was told that after I reached a reasonable amount of weight loss, they would just remove the fluid out of the band and I would eat and exercise to maintain the weight loss. -
Feeling so terrible :(
Jeannette Anndaisia replied to slimfastLI's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! Glad you are feeling a little better. I had the same experience with nausea and having to stay an extra day. The abdominal pain was terrible. And like you, I could not and am still having a problem getting all my fluids in. It will take some getting use to that you cannot tolerate much volume and your energy level will drop from lack of nutrients. I found that chicken broth helped most with my nausea. It is great to be here with people who can relate to what you are going through. You will always find encouragement here. Healing and Blessings, Jeannette -

New beginning
Jeannette Anndaisia replied to myhealthis#1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello! Congratulations! I agree with PedsNurse92, the first two weeks are pretty much hell. The pain, and getting used to not eating solid food, Lethargy, constipation, buyer's remorse, and readjusting your relationship with food. When the weight starts coming off you will feel better. And when you can put some solid food in. You will get full really fast, but you will feel satisfied, providing the hunger hormone thing works as it should. -
June Gastric Sleevers Out there
Jeannette Anndaisia replied to skjerstad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello Everyone: I got my sleeve on June 30. I have lost 30 lbs since surgery. I haven't stalled yet, but I guess it's coming. I would like to start exercising, but it takes so much energy for me to just go out and about. I'm going to start weights next week and see how it goes. Also thinking about Water aerobics. -
HAIR!
Jeannette Anndaisia replied to hannahbanana85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was terrified of losing my hair. I thought if I did not get the bypass it wouldn't happen. Yesterday I saw a serious amount of shedding and I tried to deny it. Now that read these post I have to face it. Snaps! Guess I'll just go short and deal with it because I feel so much better with just the 30 lbs I've lost so far. -
Kidney pain?
Jeannette Anndaisia replied to ssbills's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, that happened to me as well and my urine is still too dark. The problem is, I can't drink enough fluids and trying to get these protein shakes in is rough. You should definitely see your doctor about it. -
JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP
Jeannette Anndaisia replied to SMED0308's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello Everyone! I hope I can count as a July Sleever. I had my surgery on June 30. The hardest part so far was the fact that my cousin's birthday party was June 29th and I could not eat anything. I still can't believe I did it. I was a band revision to sleeve. I started at 355 (my highest weight was 391). I am down 30 lbs since surgery. Unbelievable! Funny thing is, I am not hungry. This is very strange for me. I eat because I know I have to and when I feel weak. I am working through this mentally. I am still attracted to food, the sight, and smell. However, I do not crave it anymore. It is as if my mind has already adjusted to the fact that I do not have the same stomach volume as before. This is so great that it's almost scary. Scary because this can really work! If I do what I am supposed to do, and learn to have a different relationship with food, I can have a normal body weight. Finally! Thank God!
