  1. Happy 46th Birthday luvdband!

  2. Happy 45th Birthday luvdband!

  3. 4 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 4th Anniversary luvdband!

  4. 14 months out, lost 97.5 pounds...Was a size 24, now an 8! I love it! I have some heartburn as I hear many do.. but I find it is a results of my fighting the band (still)..i.e. not taking small enough bites, or not chewing well...I hit my 'sweet spot' after my 4th fill. I LOVE MY BAND!

    Ever had the flu?

I am wondering if I am coming down with the flu. Has anyone experienced it after being banded? I certainly don't feel like eating, feel weak, achy and most concerningly...nausea has set in... Any advice? Wretching is not something I think I should be doing.

    Sweet Mother

Sweet Mother, How long has it been since your last fill? And as important, how much have you lost since your last fill? Your anotomy changes when you loose weight, it may be as simple as you need a fill. Take Care

When to stop losing weight- BMI?

Thanks for the quick responses! My doc says that I am overwieght right now and he is okay with it... but If I wanted to go for the rest of the weight I should and could... So that is the word I am living by right now. I too think my co-workers are just used to the 'ol fat me.. and the change is a little shocking..and a few have admitted to being threatened by my weight loss. I want to be an inspiration not a threat. This is the greatest thing I have ever done for myself! My biggest problem is learning to shop thrifty because I know I won't be in my britches long before I am downsizing again! And that is an awesome problem to have!!!
  9. Hello Everyone! I am 13 months out of surgery and have lost 87 pounds. I feel great but the BMI chart says I still need to lose 24 more pounds. I am certainly willing and plan to... but my co-workers are absolutley against it. They say I am perfect now. I look in the mirror and still see fat me...not 87 pounds less me. Do you guys follow the steadfast BMI chart?

    Off the wagon

uh huh... I just did the same thing last week... and felt terrible about it.. then scared myself thinking I would make my band slip...and then stressed about it too.... Personally I got a fill andthat was the 'thing' that made me get back to reality... I think I was in desperate need.. Now I am fine, thank goodness

    waking up after surgery

Hi! I woke up and was in pretty bad pain on the surface of my belly skin... the sheet hurt.. the nurse saw me lifting the sheet off my skin and gave me some pain meds and all was fine.. I received two more doses of pain meds and after a very short recovery (drinking 1 oz of apple juice, barium swallow) I was sent home.. the nurses were all amazed.. my hair wasn't even messed up! ) I tried to get my driver to take me to work as I had tons of things to do... but she refused and fussed at me! Honestly, the second day was worse... after the second day I started a quick road to recovery... getting rid of the air was the most uncomfortable (walk walk walk) Best of luck- you should do fine! I applaud you taking charge of your life- its hands down the best thing I have ever done for myself! Cheers! Jen/Whisper

Had first fill.... do feel much different

Hi! I too just had my first fill on Thursday... I feel very different in the morning (more restriction- as many experience). Today is my second day of liquids.. last night I had cream of chicken Soup and it was not keeping the hunger away... I guess it was just running right through. How much did you get filled with? I was done with 1.5... they tried 2cc's but it was not staying down. I was able to watch it on the x-ray.. it was really cool to watch it and then feel the liquid going down at the same time! The little 'mini' support group that collected in the waiting room as we all waiting to get in for the fill was pretty fun too! I love love love the band! Whisper!
  13. Yes, My surgeon said 6 weeks...- but by the time I get in it will be overlike 10 weeks.. What I meant to say or ask is... when you ask to get scheduled for a fill... how long is the typical wait for getting it? Does that make sense? Tx, Whisper
  14. I arranged for a fill last week... I have to wait almost 5 weeks!!! What is the avg time everyone else has waited to get on the schedule? The excuse for me was that they didn't have enough room to get to everyone since they only do it on Thursday and Fridays... Thanks! Whisper
  15. Hello Everyone! I am one month post op and all is going well. Lost 27 pounds so far... but am now getting really hungry and think about food often and have made a couple of bad choices but for the most part doing well. For Thanksgiving I may have eaten a bit too much if I am honest. My question is.. I am having naseau and I am worried..Last couple of days I feel blahhh. Is it possible I have overeaten and stretched the pouch that easy? Is this something you guys have gone through or does this sound bad? Thanks for your input! Jen:speechles
