You look stunning in your photos BBK  -
I just turned 41 a few days ago. I didn't have any qualms about turning 40 and part of that probably is because my family has very good skin .... my mum is 70 and doesn't have many wrinkles - yay genes! I am more physically active and definitely more social now than I was when I turned 30 and feel better within myself as well. Bring on the next 40 years.

You have made 6 posts on here and all of them have been about this berry thing. If you are trying to sell something maybe you could set up an internet website instead. I would be interested in hearing how your lapband is going though.

I go to the gym and walk on the treadmill and over the years have tried jogging however I found I wasn't able to do so for more than 10 seconds without feeling I was going to collapse. This week I decided to give it another go and alternating walking and jogging did 60 seconds and then 30 seconds of jogging the first time (what can I say, I like to start slow ha ha), 2 mins and then 3 x 1 minute the second time and today I did 2 mins and then 5 x 1 min (plus 13 minutes of walking in between). Yay me!!!! :tongue2::smile2:

Yep I go to the gym when it is fairly quiet - late morning or early afternoon, less people to potentially embarass myself in front of ha ha
-
congratulations on running your third 5km run - wow! It is so great for me to come here and read about others who were once taking their first steps like I am in regards to running and now run so far.
-
Thanks so much for the support everyone. I am looking forward to going back to the gym tomorrow for my 4th go at jogging. MrsFlipFlops...I am just trying to increase the amount of time running by a tiny amount each time which is why I am adding an extra minute or two if I feel I can. JJ I totally relate to your fear of running/jogging. I have been going to the gym for about 5 years to help me build up my muscles and stamina after an injury and even though I feel as if I get a good workout with the weights and walking it is only in the past week that I have really felt as if I was ready to try jogging again....I failed dismally the last time I tried. I am the most unco-ordinated person around though and am sure I give the others a good laugh when I drop my towel or Water bottle when on the treadmill....I once had my shoe fly off when walking!!!! Jaqcui, your posts definitely have spurred me on to try running as your love for it really comes through in your posts. Vani congratulations on starting to run as well. And yes definitely be careful especially as you have a back problem. I mix up my workouts so I do weights, pilates type of exercises, hydrotherapy on the days I don't feel up to doing weights, walking and now starting to run, so it means that if I am having a day where my shoulder is really playing up I can change what I do.
-
Every now and again I feel embarassed at the low weights I lift at the gym however this is soon replaced my a feeling of achievement when I complete my workout for the day. Congratulations on making the start.
-
Yep same here and I have been told this is fairly common.

Wow it sounds like you are having a great time in the shops. Are there supermarkets nearby where you can by ready-made salads? A lot of the take away places often have healthier options, just make sure you walk straight past all of the donut shops!! -
I'm I too tight or just right... Please help

At work I also stick to something which I know I wont have a problem with such as yoghurt as I generally get only about 15 minutes or so to eat (I work as a contractor so have short breaks so I can get away earlier). I have to eat slowly now or I get the awful pain in my chest... the bands way of reminding me to chew chew chew. My feeling is that you are possibly eating too fast however I would definitely talk with the doctor and get their opinion. -
I hope your doctors appointment went well teddy and that your questions were answered and fears were allayed.

How much fill do you have in your 10 cc band?
mss replied to trapped inside's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have 6.5 in my band. I finally have good restriction and also had my first pb last night!!! A very weird experience. -
Ouch it looks serious....I think you should sue the surgeon.
-
Wow it sounds like you have had a really diffiicult time. I hope life with the bypass is a more positive experience for you.

Welcome to posting on the forums ...it is great to hear from the long term banders. Enjoy! (going to check out your photos on the before and after thread now!) -
congratulations on having the sugery and the start of the next stage of your wonderful life Eeyore.
-
I am pleased that the surgeon finally found out what was happening, please keep us updated on how you are going.
-
I had a huge decrease in energy levels for the first few months after banding...some days I could barely get out of bed! I think it was my body adjusting to the new eating patterns and it did finally disappear and I am full of beans now.
-
Thanks for letting us know Lucky....all the best in your recovery Wasa.

It was at least three weeks probably closer to 4 before my incisions were healed enough for me to go swimming.
-
I would suggest urgently going to see your doctor for a checkup especially as you say you haven't been eating well. If you feel you are not able to drive ask a friend or family member if they can drive you there.
-
I have had 4 fills, all without a fluoro. My surgeon is very experienced and I imagine he must be able to gauge from talking with me and his knowledge how much to give me. I have asked him to go slower with the fills as I would rather have less fill than be too tight, my weight loss is slow but consistent and I am keeping it off.

Hi Sarah I don't have any advice but just wanted to let you know there is a thread for nurses so maybe someone there has solved this issue for themselves and can help.
