Hello my name is Kellee and I found Bariatric Pal when I was researching for the surgery. I am just now joining today (April 12, 2015), but I am actually about 7 weeks post op. I have gained a lot of knowledge and knew what to expect from the sleeve surgery by reading several first hand experiences on this site.
 
I am down about 25lbs currently and still have about 60 lbs to lose. I was 208-210 lbs at 5'2 and 46 years old. I have/had diabetes and hypertension. I decided to have the surgery because of the diabetes and having to start on meds a year ago. I have not had a diabetic pill in 7 weeks since about 2 days before surgery. It currently runs 75-110. I have had to lower my dose of blood pressure med and now taking it only 3 days a week until I can lose another 30 lbs then I will reassess and see if I can come off of the med. I feel very good. I have been walking but just started the gym and exercise about a week ago.
 
I am hoping to continue to learn a lot from this community as I go along. I am very busy (as everyone else), I have a mildly autistic child (LIGHT IT UP BLUE IN THE MONTH OF APRIL)!!! and I am very busy with her. She is 16 now and does really well. It is my mission now to help her lose wt. She is about 5'9 and 230 lbs and does need to lose. I am also currently working on my PhD in Nursing Education and Administration with a dual degree of MBA. I hope to finish my dissertation and graduate in August of 2017. I teach full time for an online university and work from home.
