YOU GO GIRL! (In my Martin Lawrence voice) Kudos to you for making the decision to take control of your life, for getting the weight off, for the raise, a car, and whatever positive things have come your way. Favor ain't fair and those chicks are just jealous. Keep on living your life for you! Be blessed and congratulations!

I was really concerned about reaching Protein goals considering I was only getting in about 15 grams per day. I called the doctor's office and they told me that I should be having at least 4oz of Protein shake 3 times per day along with plenty of Water to stay hydrated. They were more concerned with hydration than Protein. I tried a little yogurt today and a little apple juice along with 4ox of protein twice today. I find myself not being hungry however I make myself drink. I am more thirsty than anything and drink a lot of Water throughout the day.
I am ready to move to the next phase.

I have six pillows on my bed and I have to sleep with all of them plus a smaller one under my belly. I can say that my belly does not fell heavy anymore when I lie to one side so the smaller pillow can be done away with. I am calling my doctor's office tomorrow because I have plenty of concerns. I feel great, just not getting in enough Protein.< /p>

My sleeve was done on December 1st. As with most others, I am having a hard time eating my daily requirements. Awhile after I eat, I get a burning sensation in my stomach. I am not sure if my stomach is growling, if it's gas, or something else. I do take a pill every morning before eating for acid reflux.
Please help?

Same thing happen to me. My belly was swollen and full of gastric Martians then my 1 st day home, I spent a lot of quality time in the bathroom and now it looks as if I lost weight. Not to mention I started my girly cycle at the same time. It should get better once you poo. Don't be concerned if it's explosive, it's normal at this point.

Omg, I was sleeved on 12/1 and I'm hungry too. I hate the taste and smell of just about everything including Water. I do drink it anyway. I'm barely getting down a 11.5 ounce Protein Shake a day. I don't drink broth because I hate the smell. I have a very gross taste in my mouth all the time. I would say I'm miserable however I know this is part of the process. My biggest complaint is lack of sleep.

I'm 6 days post op and can't seem to sleep at night. I know I'm probably not getting in enough Protein but drink as much of my Protein Shake as possible. I hate the smell and taste of everything except popsicles and pink lemonade crystal light. I wish I could drink more Water at one time. I'm looking forward to the next phase so I can get some food into my system. Any ideas from anyone else as to how to sleep all night? I have one more week off and then back to work. HELP

Hi Crystal, I'm glad you survived. I too survived. I have to agree that the first 48 hours are very tiring. I was nauseous all the time and had an allergic reaction to morphine. I'm great now, just experiencing the bloating, gas, and trying to eat. Hopefully I can go home today. I also had my gallbladder removed which is the source of my pain. Oh and the gas. My husband had been right by side as well, being very helpful and attentive. I couldn't have made it through this without him.

Best wishes for you today Denise. Update on here when you can.

Best wishes to you Crystal. I report to the hospital today at 10:15 am. Check in when you can.

I'm on day 5 of a 14 day pre-op diet. I'm doing very well with it. Day 1 and 2 were very difficult but i stuck with it. I'm also down 5 lbs. Keep with it. ...we are almost there!

I am on a high Protein liquid diet. I can only have Protein Shakes, sugar free Jello, sugar free Popsicle, and Water or clear liquid drinks like broth. I drink 3 protein shakes per day, 3 Popsicles and I have hot and sour Soup from the Chinese restaurant, the broth off of it taste great. It's a struggle but my headache is gone and I feel a lot better today.

Day 3 for me and I can only have Clear Liquids and Popsicles of course. I love the Popsicles, it's like heaven. I also have some hot and sour Soup because it's high in Protein and very low in fat. That seems to help along with the Protein Shakes. I am getting in about 600-650 calories a day. I am also catching up on sleep because if I can't eat, I may as well sleep. My headache isn't so bad today.

I have surgery on December 1st.

This is my 2nd day on my pre-op diet and this really sucks. I think if my head will stop hurting I would feel a lot better. I don't feel hungry, just know that I should be eating. I do keep my mind on the prize and the fact that I was given permission to eat a Thanksgiving dinner which I won't. i prepared Thanksgiving Dinner this past Sunday before I started my liquied diet. Instead I am going to enjoy my favorite restaurant which will be opening here on November 22nd. After that it's back to liquid diets. I am looking forward to the restriction on my stomach and feeling full faster and longer. Best wishes to all on this journey to the losers bench.

I too started my pre-op diet for my upcoming surgery December 1st. I have to say that it sucks because I have to still prepare meals for my family and yet all I can have is clear liquid items or Protein Shakes. Oh well...I just keep focusing on the end result and push on.

My surgery date is December 1st.

I finally set my day of surgery for December 1st. I am very excited about it however not too excited about starting a liquid diet. I have my scheduled all planned out hoping that it will be enough to satisfy my hunger everyday. I am most looking forward to a new ME!
Day 14, what were you eating/drinking?

I had my post op appointment today and everything for me is going really well. I can start soft foods although I've already incorporated food into my diet. I hate Protein shakes and would rather get my Protein from foods....healthy foods of course like eggs, fish, and some veggies. Today for Breakfast I had some left over baked ziiti that I made last night. I cut it up really small and made sure I only had 3-4 ounces which I tolerated well. For lunch I had a boil egg and some shrimp...I tolerated them very well. dinner, I just finished eating about 2 ounces of cube steak-cut small, 1 oz of mashed potatoes and 1 oz of corn. I only ate a few pieces of the corn because by the time I got to it, I was full.
My advice is to really listen to your body. Take a few bites of the soft food you choose and if you tolerate it then eat more. Measure, weigh and portion your food to be sure you are not over eating. Eat slow and don't drink until 30 mins after. This has worked for me and I realize everyone is different.
Best of luck!
