becweaves, you look awesome. It's amazing how that belly fat is the first to go. That is where I've lost mine thus far and a fat roll off my back. Now for the arms and to tighten up the leg area.

    Not Getting Enough Calories

I am 6 weeks 2 days out with a total lost of 45 pounds thus far. I eat maybe 500-700 calories on a good day. Things i enjoy eating consists of lots of fish and shrimp, broccoli, spinach, egg plant and herbs. My advice is what everyone else stated, for these first few weeks be concerned with protein and liquid intake because at that point it is more important. When you move into the soft food and maintenance stage then you become concerned with your caloric intake. Remember protein first and foremost. No breads, pasta, corn, or other things that are high in carbs. Finally some type of physical activity 4 days per week at least 30 minutes.

  15. First I would like to welcome you to the loser’s bench. I've read so many stories on here both good and bad. I would like to share my experience thus far. I was sleeved on December 1st, once released from the hospital the 1st day home was a bit challenging for me. I believe it was because of all the changes and the emotions of having not one but two major surgeries. I had my gall bladder removed as well. When I first looked in the mirror, I felt some type of way. I felt as if my outside body no longer matched my inside body, not that it ever has hence why I had the procedure done anyway. Around day 7 I felt really good. I was able to get in my required liquids, my sleep returned to normal and I felt like doing exercises although I didn't. My post-op appointment was great and I was down 25 or more pounds. Now I am almost 5 weeks out and things are still going great. I pretty much eat whatever my heart desires....which is mostly healthy foods. I believe in getting the most Protein from a meal at every sitting because I hate Protein shakes and refuse to drink them. Along with that I am finding that I don't care much for chicken or eggs either. I say all of this because there may be minor complications in the beginning however if you listen to your doctor, visit this site when you need encouragement, and change your lifestyle...the weight will melt off of you. I have lost 40 pounds thus far (the last time I weighed myself), I've started exercising and I feel really great. My outside is beginning to match the inside which makes me feel as if it was all worth it. I don't listen to negative people or negative thoughts in my own head. I tell myself every day that this change in a long term life long change and the weight will continue to come off as long as I stay the course of the program. I don't expect it to fall off because I didn't just wake up fat one day...it was a process. I don't become disappointed if I am at a stall, I know it's my body playing catch up and I am fine with that. I have set realistic goals for myself and as long as I am accomplishing them one at a time, I am okay with the process. Don't be too frustrated and have regrets about your surgery. You are on a wonderful life changing path. Come here daily and read others stories if you need encouragement. Happy New Year.....Embrace the new you because it is so much healthier than the old you.

  17. I want to say kudos to my husband Marlon Brumfield for his weight loss of 78 pounds...no surgery, no diet, just the ole school way (walking) sometimes 16 miles per day. Pretty soon we are going to have to downgrade our king size to a queen. Just kidding I love my king size bed! #youdidthat #dayum #myinspiration

    Intake "normal" for 4 weeks?

I eat about 600-800 calories a day and I make a point to keep my carbs at 33 grams or below. I read some where that you shouldn't consume more than 33 grams of carb per meal so I figured if I keep it under 33 for the entire day, I would be in good shape.
  22. No, I hate protein shakes and will not drink them. I stopped drinking them as soon as I hit my 2 weeks post op. I expressed to my doctor that I would rather get my protein from food sources and not a protein shake. I'm doing well getting my protein in daily. I find high protein seafood to eat like; shrimp, scallops and fish. I do eat a lot of chicken too.

2 wk postop back to work today!

I went back to work after 2 weeks also. I feel really good, I am tolerating everything I eat and drink, which is mostly water. As long as I stay away from purified water, I can drink the water. When I was first sleeved I couldn't stand the taste of water then I figured out it was the purified water. I have never like purified water, I prefer spring or tap.
  24. Post-op visit was great, I am cleared to resume everything I was doing before the surgery including hitting the gym. I'm going back to work tomorrow. It's time to get Bahamas ready! #cantstopwontstop
