My surgeon requires a two week pre op diet of 3 Protein shakes a day (80 grams daily) and a under 300 calorie meal. I just use the Weight Watchers frozen meals to make it easier.

My surgeon required blood work, quitting smoking, EGD, stress test, echocardiogram, too lose 10 lbs, psych evaluation and a sleep study for Apnea. The best thing to do is to contact your insurance and talk with your physician.

I was emailed my list of things to have done starting Friday, August 1st when I have to have an endoscopy, pulmonary function test and pre surgery class and I have to start pre op diet. On August 4th cardiac testing and clearance. August 5th I have sleep Study consult. August 11th I have pre op studies.. blood, chest xray and assessment, and I meet with Dr. I am having my surgery done August 15th!!!! It is also my birthday! I have had to quit smoking on top of it all. This is the hardest part. She is allowing me to use the nicotine patch which is helpful.

Hi Everyone! I am on my way to a healthier lifestyle by choosing to have the Gastric Sleeve procedure done. I am scheduled to have surgery on August 15th 2014, my BIRTHDAY of all days. I have dubbed it my re-birthday. I have some anxiety as whether I have chosen the right procedure for me. My surgeon gave the option of choosing the Sleeve or Bi Pass. That's great! I have read so many stories from others, that they are happy that they chose the Sleeve procedure and that they have had minimal problems.

I am having my surgery on August 15th. On my birthday..... my REBIRTH-day! I can hardly wait!
