  1. I had my sleeve on 9/15/14 too. I have lost 30 lbs and handfuls of hair. I have been struggling to say the least. It was great to see your post and realize that I'm not the only person that is losing slowly. Don't get me wrong I am happy that I am down 30 lbs but it's hard to sign on and see other people losing 60-100 lbs in the same time frame.
  2. I am a month out today. I know that everyone's diets are very different. I'm wondering about how many calories people are eating. I am exercising about 4 days a week for 45-60 minutes a day. I burn between 500-750 calories. Tonight I am starving but I have had 850 calories. Does this sound about right?
  3. I so feel your pain. The same thing happened to me. I stopped losing weight day 8. I have lost 12 pounds total. My doctor says this is normal. so don't panic. I'm trying not to. I do feel a difference in my clothes.
  4. I was sleeved on 9/15 and started back at the gym on 9/28. I did elliptical and treadmill. But I haven't had much pain and was good with getting fluids down. My post-op appointment was on Wednesday and he cleared me for weights up to 20 lbs.
  5. I was sleeved on 9/15 and had lost 12 pounds and then day 8 nothing. I actually gained a few pounds and have been sitting there for almost two weeks. My doc said it was completely normal. It's super frustrating but hanging in there and going to the gym 4 times a week thinking something will eventually happen.

Body changes first, then weight changes

Thanks so much for this post. I have had struggles losing weight for years. Hence why I find myself here. I was sleeved on 9/15 and had a great first 8 days. Lost 12 pounds in that first 8 days and then nothing. I am now 14 days post op and actually gained a pound. UGH!!! I know people are saying be patient and it happens to everyone but I don't really buy that. I don't think any of those people that are saying that stalled or whatever on day 8 for crying out loud. But thank you I will take my measurements and see where I stand!

August post op sleevers: Check in

So I was sleeved on 9/15. I lost 12 lbs the first week and now nothing!! So annoyed. How long did this last for you. I am trying hard not to panic.
  8. OK I am trying not to panic but I'm annoyed. I was sleeved on 9/15. I had this surgery after two years of seeing specialists, working out, trying every trial med their was with no weight loss. I finally caved and decided this might be the only option in order for me to lose weight. The first week went great. I had the typical gas pain, constipation and exhaustion, but overall really not that bad. I forced myself to walk every day and I really think that has helped me. I went back to work on Monday. At a week out I had lost 10 pounds and was really plugging away. I'm grateful that I am down 12 pounds now, but i haven't lost ANYTHING since day 8. I am now at day 12. I know this sounds a little crazy but I also know that there is a window that the weight is supposed to really fly off and I feel like I am missing it!!! Has anyone out there had a stall so early or know of anyone that has?
  9. I was sleeved on the 15th as well and felt great until today. I also went back to work today. I am having the same problems with not being able to get enough down. This week I was supposed to add in cottage cheese, egg whites, and refried beans. Absolutely can't do the beans. The cottage cheese was ok but only two small bites. Feeling like this is all a little too heavy. Anybody out there on something else for week 2 post-op?
  10. I was sleeved on the 15th at 5pm. I didn't get into my room until after 8pm but they did get me up and walking before I was out for the night. The next day I felt really good. I have been following the diet and walking throughout the day. Today I have walked over 4000 steps according to my fitbit. I am excited that this hasn't been as hard as I thought however, I made the mistake of getting on the scale and it's telling me that I have GAINED 7 pounds. How is this possible? Has anyone else had this problem?
  11. I got on the scale today and it said that I had gained 7 pounds. How this is possible I don't know. I have been following the clear liquids to a fault and I have been walking everyday. Help! Has anyone else had this problem?
  12. I am four days out today and I think I could do it. But I would have the realistic expectation that I wouldn't be hanging out for long at the reception. It's not the pain but its the endurance and you don't really want to push yourself that much. Sitting at the wedding and then for thirty minutes at the reception for me would be completely doable.
  13. My surgery was on Monday at 4pm. So far that has been the hardest part. I really feel ok. Lots of bloating and gas. I read somewhere to bring gas x with you and that has helped. I am getting sick of the clear liquids but I only have a few more days until full liquids. This is much easier than I thought it was going to be. I do sleep during the day and it's been hard to get as much fluid in as they want you to, but I just do my best. I also started walking around my block the day I got home from the hospital. I think that has helped too! Very exciting! Good luck to all.
  14. I tried some premix broth from Costco yesterday and couldn't do it. I might add some water to it and give it a go. My surgery isn't until 4pm tomorrow! UGH! So excited for you. I am not great at the twitter but I will have plenty of time tomorrow to look into it. Best of luck tomorrow!
  15. I only have to do the two days for pre op. I'm not going to lie it's not a good time. It's doable but be prepared to be hungry.
