    Getting Nervous Before Surgery

Hey there, Yes, Dr. Cirangle did my surgery October 9. It was a great experience. The hospital staff is awesome. They totally put me at ease through out the entire process. I was scheduled for surgery at 7:30am and by 3p.m. I was in the car on the way home. They give you the option to stay over night or go home. I thought I would rather sleep in my own bed. The consent form is intimidating but they just have to cover all the bases. I have had an excellent recovery. I had my surgery on a Thursday and I was back at work on Monday. The worse part is the bloating but with walking and moving around it will be gone in 48 hours or so. Dr. Cirangle is awesome. He is not the warm and fuzzy type but really good at what he does. I went it for my follow up two weeks post op and had lost 17 pounds. I was thrilled. He has his patients do 3 weeks of liquids. I won't lie, that got old but the results are worth it. It goes by fast. I am on soft foods now. Man, I never appreciated a scrambled egg so much. If you have any questions pre or post op please feel free to email me and I will do my best to help. It can feel kind of lonely when everyone around you is eating what they want. Good luck! You will do great! Shelby

first few weeks not for weight loss???!!!

Hey, I hear you. The first 3 weeks my doc requires thin liquids only. I thought I would die. I had moments of depression, anger, and starvation. When I called and told the office that I was really hungry, the doc said to add more Protein (which meant one or two more proteint supplements in the day). The protein is what holds you over. How much protein are you taking in? My doc wanted me to get in 80g. Sometimes my stomach is gurgling and I think it's saying that I'm hungry but the doc said it is actually the process of the liquid going throgh the band, etc. I am just starting soft foods. I NEVER feel full. Since I am only 3 weeks out he would not give me a fill until I am able to take in soft foods with no problem. Hang in there. Are you getting enough calories? I found when I added 1 or two shakes I actually lost more weight. Who can explain it? It is frustrating. Let me know how it works out for you. Take care, Shelby

Please Read--i Am In A Panic

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I have been reading so many stories of women not losing the weight they had hoped for that I was starting to get freaked out. The last think I want to hear is that people have been starving in between meals. When did you have your surgery and has your weight loss been satisfactory?

Please Read--i Am In A Panic

Hello all, I was banded on Oct 11. I am feeling really bloated with lots of gas. Is this normal? Plus, I made the mistake of getting on the scale today and only have lost 1 pound. How can that be? I am drinking clear liquids and I've only lost a pound in 2 days. That seems ridiculous! Anyone have any words of encouragement??
