If you are low carbing it and would like some support and accountability this is the thread for you!! Not that I particularly love low carb, but there is no denying that is works better for me than anything I have ever done. Therefore, low carb lifestyle will probably be my friend until goal.

Ok, I tried this once before and got way to eager. I started moving quicker than designed. This time I will follow the guidelines. If you are not familiar with a Couch to 5K, it is a plan to go from not running at all to running 5k (3.2 miles) in only 2 months. It is very doable and such a great feeling of accomplishment. I ran/walked a 5k in May and it was one of the most rewarding things I have done in many years. Here is the link to the info.. If anyone is interested in training together just join in. Cool Running :: The Couch-to-5K Running Plan We will start on Monday, June 29. Let's get ready to MOVE!!!!!!:tt2:

I typed the previous post right after coming in from running and you can tell it. Look at all the typos! LOL!

Lyn, So sorry about your injury. you will bounce back quickly. I'm glad you are able to walk again. Kathy, I started the P90x. Google it. It is very difficult and I really think it sent me into my nithingness. However, it is put out by beachbody and they have lts of different workouts. The one I have incorporates bands instead of weights. Actually you can use either, but the bands take up less speace and are more comfortable for me. The guy actualloy recommends doing the P90 workout first, but you know me. I jumped right to the P90x. I think they have one that is more geared to women as well. Anyway, google beachbody and they have lots of good workouts. Space is an issue for me too since we moved to the little trailer, and there is no gym within driving distance. I had planned to go to the aerobics class, but we had an unexpected visitor who left the house at the time I was supposed to be there. It was a neighbor coming to welcome us and introduce herself. How sweet of her. I ran instead. Did 5K on 35.30. It was really hard tonight. I thinkl my legs are just fatigued. I am looking forward to my 2 day break, but it feels really good to be going again!! Yall have a great evening!

2 nights in a row!! WooHoo!! Tonight I ran 5K in 37.30 minutes. I was definately sucking air when I finished, but I am still in better shape than I expected to be. I have a plan........I am going to run 5K on M-W-F and on T-TH I am going to attend an aerobics class at a local church. I am going to rest on Sat and Sun. Imagine that...me resting...Since we are in the middle of nowhere there is no gy closeby, but I have learned of an aerovics class at a local church. The lady who told me said that it is a very good class. She works out a lot and is in VERY good shape so I trust her opinion. I am very excited. My old buddies will notice that this is MUCH less ambitious than my previous plans. My all or nothingness really scared me this last time. I went 4 months without exercising. Usually I only go a couple of days or weeks. I also gained over 10 pounds. I got really panicky and saw myself gaining all my weight back without the mental ability to do anything about it. Very scary. I am really going to work more on consistancy so that I can prevent this again. It's all part of learning to change the habits that lead to my obesity. THis is a major one for me. I can't tell you how good it feels to be mentally back in the game. Kathy, I hope you soon have to find a new nickname for me!! LOL Yall are great. So glad to be back.

I DID IT!!!!! I ran today!! This is the first run I have logged on Nike Plus since Feb 1. Wow, that is almost 4 months of no running. That is TOOOO long even for an all or nothing person like me. I ran 2.12 miles in 24.01 minutes. My average pace was 11.18. Not bad for 4 months off. It feels REALLY good to have run. I ran on our land. It is 80 degrees here, but most of it was shaded. It is a little hilly, but I figure the cross country running will be good for me. I am so glad to be back in the saddle. I joined the current challenge. I know it is over Monday, but I can log a few runs between now and then. BTW, I was reading old posts, and kathy, you look absolutely amazing in your new dresses. COngrats to you. I desire to have your consistancy. You are amazing!!

Hey all of my long lost buddies. I haven't been on in sooooo long. I officially fell off the wagon, got under the wheel and let it run over me over and over again. Not really sure how to get back on. I am up 10 pounds from my ticker weight and haven't exercised in a VERY long time. I am going to start eating healthy and running again tommorrow!! I don't know how to REALLY make up my mind to get started again, but I know that the support here is a start!! You guys are awesome!!

Hey everyone. I am on the 3rd day of the P90X and let me just say, it is kick butt hard. I am not goign to join the current challenge. Until I get used to this P90X thing I won't even be walking unless I have to. LOL It really isn't that bad. I really like it, but I am sore in places I didn't even know I had. I think it is good though.. I PM'd Geogia Girl to check on her. She wanted me to let all of you know that her little boy has been sick and now she is sick. She will be posting again as soon as she is feeling better. I pray that's real soon. You guys rock!! Have a great week!!

Whosya, that is great!! Your resting heart rate is probably low because you are in EXCELLENT shape!!! Great NSV!!

Frangipani & TexasBecky get Reconstructed
renewedhope replied to TexasBecky's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Frangi, I had a inner thigh lift with my extended tummy tuck. I don't think I would say the thighs are worse than the rest for me. My incision was in both groin areas and down the inside of both thighs. Until my scar fades a little more I won't be wearing Daisy Dukes, but I am pleased that I had it done. I have very muscular legs and they actually look kinda HOT without all that skin hanging around. I keep saying I am going to take current pics. I will try to do some close ups of my thighs when I do. The scar on my right thigh is just a little crooked, but not bad. I would do it again and am pleased. Yes, the scars are a little more noticable, but not more noticable than all the loose skin was. You are one tough cookie. You will do fine! -
It looks pretty tough. I am hoping I can hang. I really think I have exercise ADD. Once I do this for the initial 90 days I will probably have to find something else to keep me motivated. My body just wants something new! I am really excited about adding some weights. I can't wait to get started!

Way to go Whosya!!!! 200 pounds is awesome. Whosya, have you read anything about the PX90. I have ordered it and it should arrive this week. If you have a chance google it and tell me what you think. Muscle confusion is one of the primary tactics that it uses. I am looking forward to starting it. I would be interested in your opinion. I was down to 163 for my weigh in this week. I am a little puzzled. Since I haven't run in over a month my scales are starting to drop. I hope I am not losing muscle. Maybe the change has stopped this horid plateau. I also got a fil about a month ago so maybe that is why. Anyway, I will take it. I unpacked my safety strap to my treadmill last night, so I will be back on soon. I am actually starting to want to run a little. You guys are doing awesome!!! I am so impressed with all of your consistancy. I am so on or off. I wish I could be more like most of you!!
-
Ok, Kathy you have sparked the cometitive side of me. I am unpacking boxes today. IF I cn find the one with my Nike+ in it and my treadmill safety strap then maybe I can put in a couple of surprise runs for Mr Whosya!! I better get to unpacking. When does the challenge end?
-
DH bought me a pair of size 7 Wranglers today!!!! They look too cute on me and are not a bit too tight. I was so pumped!! He was too. He will probably expect favors tonight. Georgia, You are doing awesome!! You know you are still my best band buddy!! It is really hard admitting to myself that I need to switch up my plan. I think I have adult ADD! Seriously, I get bored easily and have to move on to something else. My videos haven't come in yet. I can't wait till they get here!! I am still rooting you all on. I just love this thread!!
-
Kathy, I hope you all get well soon. Your poor DH sounds miserable. We are somewhat settled in. I finished cleaning the old house yesterday. DH has to move his shop, but otherwise we are out of the old house. I haven't found my safety strap to my treadmill yet. I remember putting it in a box, but haven't gotten to that box yet. I weighed this morning and to my surprise I have lost 3 pounds!! WOOHOO!! I haven't lost weight in a long time. I haven't exercised much, but I have been very careful about what i have been eating lately. I am SOOO burned out on running. I hate that i do this to myself. Anyway I have decided to try something new for a little while. DH ordered my the PX90 workout dvd's. They are weight training. I am going to shift gears and do that for a little while. The premise of it is that is uses muscle confusion to keep your body burning fat and building muscle. We'll see how it goes. When I find my key I will do some running for cardio, but to be honest I am not relly looking forward to running. I don't miss it like I have before. I don't know if it is just everything else going on with the move or if I am just ready to move in another direction with my fitness. Anyway, I am determined to do something. I really think I need to focus on building muscle to get the shape that I desire. Running alone just isn't going to do it for me. I will still be here, running or not!! I just haven't been on much lately, but when I am on this is the only thread I check! You guys are doing awesome. It's so exciting to see all the new people.
-
WAY TO GO KATHY!!!! You have worked really hard at this goal and it has be a LONG time coming!! Way to go!!! Your consistancy has paid off!!
-
Georgia, I am good. Still trying to get settled in. Lots to do, and so far from being done. I haven't been exercising at all. I have a goal to start back on Monday. I hope to be pretty much unpacked by then. I think I am going to do more weight training than running. I will probably run 2 ays a week and weight train the rest. My body has just quite dropping pounds. It seems I stay the same weight whether I run or not. I havven't decided for sure what I will do, but whatever it is, it begins on Monday. Thanks for checking in on me. Hopefully I won't be so MIA much longer.

Renewedhope is Headed for the Flatlands
renewedhope posted a topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Ok, I finally have a date, so I thought I would start a thread about my plastic surgery!! I will have an extended tummy tuck, thigh lift and mons lift on October 24th. I am having my tubes tied at that time as well. My emotions are all over the place allready and i am usually not like that at all. Will I really have a flat tummy?? Are my expectations too high?? Will I be happy with my body after the surgery or will I continue to find every flaw?? It's like a whirlwind of questions going through my mind. Those of you who have allready done this, did you experience these same feelings. Here's the other thing....Since I set the date, I am having the hardest time staying focused. I want to lose 15 more pounds before surgery and I can't seem to stay focused. The surgery should be motivation enough. I am going to use this thread as a way to keep all of my lapband buddies up to date on my progress, and would also love the support and advice of those of you who have been there. I am amazed at the friendship and support I have received on this website. You guys really do ROCK!! I will post before pics closer to surgery. FLATLANDS HERE I COME!!! -

Karey, I haven't researched the sleeve a lot, but what little research I have done, I think that is what I would pick. I just don't think I can do it on my own. My track record is pretty poor. I hope my band lasts forwever, but I am not so nieve as to think that is a guarantee. I do think I will always need some sort of "partner" in keeping the weight off. -

Karey, I am so sorry to hear you are having trouble. DH and I were talking about this very thing yesterday. My weight gain was eye opening fo rme too. It is sooo easy to put it back on. I told him that if I ever have to have my band removed I think I will do a sleeve. I am so fearful of gaining the weight back. I used to wish that fear would go away, but after the holidays I think it is probably necessary to keep the weight off. In one of your posts you said that someone told you (your daughter I think) that skinny people are skinny because they watch what they eat. That has really stuck with me. To be healthy we must watch what we put in our mouths, and that is for everyone, not jsut us banded people. Anyway, hope things get better for you real soon!! Keep me posted! -
It is raining here and my treadmill is hidden under boxes. It is supporsed to rain all week, so I don't know how much running I iwll get in. I get my staples out tomorrow. Hopefully we are moving this weekend. I am thinking I may just get back with running once we get moved.
