    I am going to take a couple of days to see how I do, but on Monday I will either begin atkins induction or go back on shakes. It just depends on how my carb cravings are over the weekend. I am not sure 3 days was enough for me either, but my new kiddos have never eaten in a resteraunt, so we are going to do a few fun things with them this weekend.

    Well, it is finally Wednesday morning, and I must say, I am very ready for a low carb, low fat breakfast!! Yall are so kind about the foster kids. We are truly the ones who are blessed. They are such prescious children. To see the smiles on their faces over getting a new pair of shoes and a toothbrush. It really makes me thankful for all I have and all I have taken for granted.

    Well, mylife changed tonight. We just got 2 foster kids tonight. A girl who is 6 and a boy who is 3. Yep, that makes 5 kids at my house and they are 2 months, 13 months, 3, 6 and 9. It is crazy around here tonight. Needless to say I haven't thought much about food tonight. I have only had 1 1/2 shakes today and about 24 oz of water. That is not near enough water. I will drink somemore before I go to bed. It is amazing though, I am not hungry. Maybe I didn't need a lap band just 5 kids. LOL Without my band I'm sure I would be eating like crazy.

    OMG!!! I have been having trouble getting to the gym because of the babies and childcare. Well, I refuse for that to be an excuse so we started going to the track in the evenings when my dh gets home. Well, it got really cold and then rainy. I needed an excuse proof exercise plan so last night I bought the cardio and the body sculpting dvd's from The Biggest Loser. It says to alternate cardio and body sculpting each day. Well, I just got through with my first day of cardio and it kicked my butt!!! I typically don't like videos, but it seems to be the best option right now. I hope to get an eliptical soon and then add it as well. But for now, the videos will have to do. I am still catching my breath!!

    This has been very eye opening for me too. I was trying to fix the symptom (eating the wrong thing) instead of fixing the true problem (head hunger). I know what you are saying about that stuffed full feeling. I have been trying to get that with the band. That is no longer the goal, and remember how miserable stuffed feels anyway. I think we may have jsut learned a very important lesson in this whole thing. It is about so much more than food.

    I was drinking my 1st shake and my state worker came to see our foster child, so I sat it down. I have not had anything since. Since I woke up I have had about 1/2 of a shake and about 8 oz of water. I am not hungry at all. I too and going to have to examine this head hunger thing. It seems that being hungry may not really be my problem.

    Christie, Sades is starting tomorrow, so you could start tommorow with her if you would like. It's never too late. Just jump in and go!! Way to go Jocelin. These shakes really make you appreciate non sugar real food don't they. BTW, I am in Texas too. East Texas. I live about 2 hours east of Arlington. I am a HUGE Cowboys fan. I even had a Roger Staubach poster on my wall when I was a little girl.

    For those who have PCOS

    Rakes, I used to take metformin, but stopped because it made me sick at my stomach. Here's the deal... Glucose is stored in fat cells. So, the more fat cells you have the more insulin your body has to produce to keep your blood sugar normal. So, once you lose weight, you have less fat cells, so your body doesn't have to produce as much insulin. The thing about PCOS that this so difficult is that estrogen is also stored in fat cells. This contributes to the hormone imbalance that we PCOSers have. Thus causing all those yucky PCOS symptoms. One of which is increased hunger. You see, thus begins the vissous cycle. So, the good news is...... Once we lose weight with our band, the viscous cycle is stopped. Those VERY IRRITATING symptoms are lessened, or eliminated, and the vissous cycle of up and down insulin production is halted. So...... whether you takes meds for PCOS or not, you still can have your "skinny end". I hope this all makes sense. Sometimes as a nurse, I say things in a way that is confusing, but this is my understanding of how weight loss affects PCOS. Mindy, Yes i do have hair on my stomach. When I was preggers I decided to shave it off. Big mistake... Now I have to shave my belly. How gross is that. I too, am hoping that it will be cut off with my TT. Isn't PCOS fun?????????

    How are things going this monrning. I am drinking my first shake as I type. This is the first Protein shake that I have had since having good restriction and I must say, it is a bit more difficult to drink. I am having to slow WAY down. Sades, I am so glad you will be joining us in the morning. Babygirl, You are so right. That's the idea with the shakes. we are cutting out all refined sugar. After 2 days of shakes only, we should be able to better deal with the carb cravings that we have dealt with. Thanks for the advise. OK girls, Let's MAKE IT A GREAT DAY!!!!!

    C sounds perfect to me as well. As I am losing my DD's are starting to stare at the ground if you know what I mean. When I was at a healthy weight and in good shape I was a small C and that was just about perfect for me. the shoulder pain does get old.

    Ok, here I go.... Today I cleaned out my closet. I got rid of a lot of too big clothes and was able to put in my closet several things from the "too little box" My DH is suddenly "interested" almost every evening. I feel better in my clothes I have a waist. I went from a 40DD to a 38DD People are begining to notice that I am losing weight.

  21. What a great idea, Lapbandit. In fact I think I will start a thread in the form of a challenge. See who all would like to do that and hold each other accountable. Such challenges really help keep me motivated.
  22. I also am having a hard time cutting out the carbs again. I think I am going to do atkins induction phase for a week or 2 to get me back on track. I really hate carb addiction. I got a fill on the 3rd of January. I finally have good restriction. Now I just have to start putting good food in my mouth. Jack, I love your philosophical posts. They always inspire me.     Which would you choose?

    I have a total gym that I don't use very much. I am really wanting a treadmill. I think both aerobic and strength training are important, but I have found that lots of aerobic really helps me drop the pounds. Now I jsut have to figure out how I can buy a treadmill??????

    How did you deal with thoughts of failure?

    Hey Girl!! You have been a big inspiration to me as well!! I know exactly what you are feeling. Those feelings of failure just seem to keep creeping up even though you know you are making good progress. You were banded a month ahead of me, we were pretty close to the same starting weight and our histories sound so similar with PCOS and all. If you need an accountability partner I would be more than happy to be "band buddies" I am nowhere neer you location wise, I am in Texas. We could get together and chat each week or even talk on the phone. PM me if you want.. I was in this same funk, but am doing much better this week. Maybe we will be in our funks at different times and can help each other out!! You can do this. You have already proven that. Hang in there!!
