  1. Ok, today I ate 1 piece of ham 3 slices of american cheese 2 pieces lemon pie the topping of 1 piece of pepperoni pizza I didn't figure calories, etc. Way too many I am sure. I don't know what all was in the pie, so I skipped that part for today..

  3. To me Atkins and lapband work well together. With the band it is important that you eat Protein first, then good veggies, then carbs. Once we complete the induction phase, that's pretty much what Atkins is. I also lose well on Atkins. Like other have said, It works well for me. everyone has to find what works. Ok, I did really well at the party. I ate ham and cheese. Then I blew it. She made my very favorite lemon pie. I ATE 2 PIECES. It slid right down. OMG!! Oh, well, that's ok as long as I go right back to what I know to do. A planned deviation from "the plan" is not a mistake. It's part of my plan. I think that is how I will maintain my sanity through this. I have the freedom to choose. Today I chose to enjoy lemon pie. Tommorow I will choose Atkins shakes. Sounds crazy, but that is empowering to me. It makes this whole thing easier. It's all about choices. Gotta run to the store to get milk for my little boy. I'll post my food later.

    Gulping water

    I now have 7cc in my 10cc band. I can no longer gulp. Well, I can, but it will come right back up. This has been very hard for me. I am definately a gulper.

  8. It's ok losing. Just keep going. Here's what I had today B - Atkin's shake, vanilla L - 1/2 cheesy tuna (YUMMY) D - 2 scrambled eggs S - 1 sf popsicle 431 Cal 21.35 fat 14.2 carbs 9.2 net carbs 46.85 Protein I have the munchies big time tonight. I ate a pork rind, but they don't seem to agree with me very well since I got banded. Bummer.... I may not have eaten enough calories today. I am really fighting night hunger. Ok, I need opinions. I am going to my best friends house tommorow for a pampered chef party. Do I eat the food in very small portions, or do I not eat anything at all at the party.. My friend will not be offended if I don't eat. I just hate to draw attention to myself, and I'm sure it will be really good food that I will want to eat. I just figure I need to have a plan before I go. Even if I eat some. What would yall do?????

  10. Ok, I figured my totals for the week to see if I am really taking in more carbs than I thought. Losing, you are right, that caramel macchiato had a lot of carbs. Thankfully I had very few carbs otherwise that day, so I was still under 20. I think my diet is ok. I certainly welcome any suggestions. Here are my totals. Monday 756 cal 40.3
  11. Thanks for figuring the full fat version. I was watching fat, but now that I am doing Atkins I am not. Just using up what I have before buying more. Is that for the whole can of tuna??? I only ate 1/2 at lunch and was VERY full!! Thanks Bloo. Trust me, my stomach is still there, just less of it. I must say, I was very surprised when I saw the picture. It really feels good to actually be able to see a difference.
  12. If my count is correct, 1/2 of the cheesy tuna is 100cal, 1.75 fat, 2 carbs, and 19.5 protein. I am waiting till payday to buy groceries, so that is made with whole milk, ff sour cream, and ff cheese. I know atkins doesn't reccomend ff but that is what I have. Hope that helps.
  13. Pamela, I am eating the cheesy tuna as I type and it is very yummy. I am going to count carbs today. I think I will go back and count the rest of the week if I have time. I will be really suprised if I have not stayed within what is allowed. I know this diet works for me. I must not have gone into ketosis yet. I am not losing heart!! Amy
  14. That is great Losing. Surely I will start to drop again soon. Low carb has always worked really well for me, too. I have not been counting calories or carbs, or Protein, or fat. I have just been making sure I stay within the approved foods. I think I will count today and just see where I am at. However, I don't think I am going over in any catagorie. Here is what I had yesterday B - 1/2c tuna (tuna, mayo, egg, green onion) L - 1/2c tuna D - 1c taco salad (taco meat, refried Beans, lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream) S - Caramel Machiato from Hastings (made with sf syrup and sf whipped cream) I have not been driniking all of my Water. I will also make sure I do that today. What tool do yall use to count your calories, carbs, protein, etc????

  16. This is the 2nd morning that my scales have not moved. ARGH!!!! I really thought I would start losing faster by now. It is nowhere near TOM. I have not been exercising because of sick kids. I have The Biggest Loser exercise DVD's and they are really good. I really should get them out and use them. Maybe that is the missing link. I usually don't have trouble losing when following diet alone. I have followed this diet to a tee. Maybe it will start showing tomorrow. I probably need to stay off the scales for a day or 2. How is everyone else doing. Amy
  17. I was just fixing to post that I had tuna for Breakfast and tuna for lunch. All I put in it was mayo and green onion. Sounds like I need some variety. Then here you are with my variety. You are too good. That really sounds yummy. I will have to try it. I really like tuna and it is such a good way to get in enough Protein. Thanks for the recipe. Amy

  19. Ok, I never thought I would do this, but here are my pictures. The first is the day of surgery, and the 2nd is 3 months post op. My highest weight was 255 and this morning I weigh 217.

    I'm staying on plan today because today is 3 months since I was banded. I took new photos of myself and I can tell a big difference.
  21. A break one day a week sounds great to me too. I probably won't start that until after the induction phase, but that will really help to keep on it long term. Today I ate the following B - Atkins shake L - tuna with egg, mayo, and onion S - 1 chicken strip with the breading removed D - topping off of 2 pieces of homemade pizza (venison, cheese, very,very little pizza sauce) I ate a little more processed food than I like today, but we went to piano lessons and I was so hungry, so a chicken strip was the best choice I could muster up!! BTW, My kiddos are much better today!!!

  23. losing, I'm with you. I would really like to stick with Atkins after the induction. In the past I have found that when I get off of the induction part I can't stay on the plan. It's like I can't handle too much freedom. I know that is pitiful. This time I would really like to follow the diet from now on. I know it is works well for me.
  24. I'm so glad you are hanging with it!! If I can muster up the willpower I will do a third week so that you are not doing week 2 alone. As far as the edamame, I am so not good at counting carbs, so I am not a good person to ask. I have never had edamame, but it looks like something I would love to try.

    For those who have PCOS

    How is everyone. Well, I talked to my doctor about metformin yesterday. I took it some time back and had a lot of stomach problems with it. Looking back, the stomach problems seemed to be worse when I ate fried, greasy foods. So...... since my eating habits have changed greatly I decided to give it another try. I am on my 2nd day and so far so good!! I am also doing the Atkins induction and I have dropped 7 pounds in the last 5 days!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!
