    Ok, I am embaressed to even tell you this. I forgot about posting my bugg problem. I kept putting the battery in backwards. DUH!!!! It works fine now.

    Welcome Becca, google atkins induction and you should be able to find it. You can probably do a search on this site and find it as well. I know I have posted it at least once. I recently deleted it from my computer, but if you can't find it then let me know and I will find it for you.

    Within about 6 months pa pa had adjusted pretty well. He also had dementia and his memory had started getting really bad. He did start going to the dining room and other activities. He got to where he loved to flirt with the nurses. Cracked me up. Like I said, the dementia had gotten pretty bad. He passed away about a year ago. I miss him. Thinking about him still makes me laugh. The main thing he missed was his car. After he adjusted he began to joke about it some. When I would come in to see him, the first thing he would say was, "Have you seen my old car driving around out there without me". I hope your father adjusts better soon. Pa Pa used to gripe about the food a lot too. Mom put some of his favorites in a little refridgerator in his room. We would bring him food too. This helped a lot.

    Denise, I will certainly pray for yall. We went through the same thing with my grandfather. everyday he asked to go home. It was really hard on my mom. He finally did adjust and enjoyed his "home away from home". Glad to hear that they don't think your dad has cancer. That's good news. Christal, Welcome. There's no better time to get back on the wagon than now!!

    Ok, I kinda hate to revive this thread, but I am having some MAJOR carb cravings. Atkins induction is the only thing that helps me get this under control. Georgia Girl and I are going to begin the atkins induction on Tuesday. I plan to do it for 2 weeks and then go back to a high protein/healthy carb diet. Are any of you struggling again with carb cravings. if so, join us as we kick the carbs to the curb!!! Like I said, tommorow is a free day. We will begin in full force on Tuesday!!

    I have had a bad week, and this weekend was no different. I definately need a fill. My appt with my doc last Thursday was cancelled so I will get my fill on the 3rd. I can't wait. I am eating WAY too much and feel hungry all the time. I ate a whole plate of nachos at lunch today. This is soooo not normal for me. I have got to get control of myself. We are eating out with family tommorow, so I am going to give myself tommorow and the Tuesday I am hitting it hard and heavy. I have come way too far to look back now!!

    OK, I have a question. I let the battery go dead on my bugg. I put a new battery in and now it just has a quiet buzz all the time. Pushing the button and the band does nothing and it won't sinc to my computer. What do I do??????????????? I need my bugg.

    Share your NSV's

    well, the scales are dropping more slowly these days. It dawned on me last night that I think it is key now more than ever, that I look for and Celebrate NSV!! Here are some of the latest.... - My bra size is now 38D - I keep getting clothes out of the closet, put them on just to take them off and put them in the too big pile. - DH continues to notice me more and more. - sex is GREAT!! - Bought "sexy" panties. I have worn "granny Panties" for years. DH couldn't keep his hands off me. We have been together for 17 years. It's so fun to rekindle our love life - I feel attractive for the first time in many many years. - SHAVING MY LEGS IS SOOOOOO MUCH EASIER, and takes about half the time. We all have NSV and when those scales seem to get stuck look for your NSV!!!! I can see so many changes that I have let the scales overshadow. WE ARE DOING THIS!!!!!!

  13. Leslie, DOn't be so hard on yourslelf. Bandster hell is just that, HELL!!! When I was in bandster hell I remember thinking, "This works for everyone else, but it just isn't working for me. Those fears of this being "another failure" kept creeeping in. Don't entertain those thoughts. It does get better. Much better!! Just keep pressing on. You will reach your goal!!!!
  14. OK, my scales were down this morning. I'm not even going to count it until tommorow morning. I have to make sure it lasts. I have been stuck for so long I couldn't believe that I showed a loss. To be continued..............

    Starving At Night!!!

    Ladybug, those are WONDERFUL suggestions.. I have done better the past week. I typically don't eat cereal or soups, but when I let myself get too hungry I crave these things. In trying to work through this I have definately learned that I was letting myself get too hungry. I bought some almonds and cheese. If I get really "snacky" I will eat 1 ounce of the cheese or a handfull of almonds. These are high in fat so I try and limit them. I also bought some Cup of Soup. It is Lipton brand. Not much to it, but only has 45 cal and I sip on it, much like you were talking with the tea or coffee. That seems to help. I am 2 pounds down this morning for the first time in a couple of weeks. The scales had been soooo stuck. I actually think increasing my calories has started my weight loss again. Thanks so much for everyone's input. This seems to be something a lot of us bandster's struggle with.

    Starving At Night!!!

    I know it is not uncommon for my band to be tight in the morning and looser in the evenings. I am generally not hungry in the mornings through mid afternoon, but in the evenings I feel like I can eat a house. I know part of it is head hunger. I have allways been a night eater, but this is rediculous. I will consume 200 - 300 calories all day and be full until about 6 or 7pm. Then it hits. Last night I ate 2 bowls of Cereal and a can of chicken noodle Soup. OMGosh!! Of coarse, i pb'd after than and felt HORRIBLE. I usualy don't give in that badly, but I do struggle with this each evening. I need some practical advise. Should i eat more calories during the day??? Am I letting the tank get too empty???? Is this just a head hunger issue that I need to work through??? I don't want to increase my calories during the day if more calories is not what I need. HELP!!!!

    Beth, my display came off as well. I actually lost it in my yard for a day or 2. I was freaked out. I finally found it. I use the clip now, and clip it on my pants pocket with the display facing the inside of my pocket so if it comes off it will still be in my pocket. Bummer.

    Is it selfish?

    I read this yesterday and didn't post anything because I didn't know what to say. I know he isn't blaming the band, but for me, that really doesn't matter. Fact is, she was starting a new, healthier life, and now she is gone. I have not been able to shake this. Did she somehow know that she was near the end??? Even if it turns out that it was band related, we all know that there is that risk. I love my band. This makes me more aware of how blessed I am with my band, my health, and my beautiful family. For you, mom2bbb, I will make the most of today, because that is really all I have....

    Good point. I am down 1 1/2 pounds this morning. I am back to where I started. Anyway, I haven't really done anything different. I think salt content has a lot to do with my fluctuations. I notice that my wedding ring is much looser today. I will definately watch that closer. Thanks, Amy

    If you allow the bodybugg to calculate based on my weight, it says that I average 3647 calories in each day. With a margin of error, there is still absolutely no way that I am taking in that many calories. OMGosh, if i took in 3000 cal I would be so sick and puking. Besides, except for the last 2 days, I carefully log my food, and that would be a 200% difference. I do understand what Sherry is saying, but I don't eat much prepared food. and it is just not possible that I have missed it by that much. There is some other reason for my gain. I am hoping it is increased muscle mass from exercise. If that is the case it should come offr pretty quick. I have put my bugg back on and will be counting everything closer than ever.

    I have done pretty crappy the past few days. Here's the deal. I logged my food, I increased my exercise. I had an average deficit of over 1500cal per day. i am so sore from my kickboxing class that i can hardly walk. What do I get for all of this..... I gained 1 pound this past week. No it isn't TOM. I am sooooo very frustrated. I haven't done well the last couple of days. I feel like it is probably water weight, but I am having a really hard time. I didn't even wear my bugg the last 2 days. YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't doubt the bugg at all...... I figure I am gaining muscle because I have significantly increased my exercise. I do love my bugg, but I am having a hard time picking myself up to keep pushing like I have been.. Any suggestions.....
  24. My scales are sooooo stuck. I am using my bodybugg, showing a deficit each day. It is not TOM. I have increased my exercise, so maybe it's added muscle, but the last couple of days I find myself feeling discouraged and making food choices that I shouldn't. Maybe I need a fill?? I really don't think so, but I am soooo sore I can hardly move (from exercise), I've increased my water, and my scales are going nowhere?? Any suggestions???
