    That is my understanding of sweetspot as well. I finally think I am there. The reasoning behind not drinking with your meals is because the food you eat is designed to sit in the pouch, takng longer to digest. If you drink with your meal then theoretically the liquid mixes with the food, thus helping it pass through more quickly leaving you less full. For me I think the liquid sits on top of the food and comes back up. Anyway, read up on the Inamed website...one of the big rules of banding.

    What a cool thread. Ok, here's mine. I usually lay on my side and he is laying on his side behind me (spoons). Now he lays there and runs his hand up and down my side. We both know that there are no rolls, and definate shape. Granted when i am on my side my flap of a lap is on the other side. It has been many many years since he was so interested in "feelling" of my body. OMGosh, did I just type that??

    Sorry I didn't answer your question really. yes, for me, it is MUCH easier to stay on plan with the band. I don't think I could have lost 77 pounds without it!! I love my band, however, I am very proud of myself and the hard work I have invested!! Good luck to you!!

    It is still a decision everyday. You still have to make the right choices. I wasn't able to make those choices consistantly without the band. It is my partner in defeating obesity, but if you are looking for something that will do all of the work, lapband is not it.

    I have been having trouble sleeping with my cpap (sleep apnea). I called the DME company and they did an overnight o2 sat monitor on me. My oxygen levels stayed up all night!!! I no longer have sleepp apnea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just cleaned my cpap, put it in the bag and up in the closet!!!!!!!!!! Also, my heartrate used to stay between 95 and 105. Last night my average heart rate was 50. My heart is not having to pump as hard now that I am thinner and in better shape!!!

    way to go CIndy. I pretty much just keep a count of carbs in my head throughout the day. I know when I've had too much.. I have to watch snacking. I am a snacker. Today..... Biggest Loser Body Sculpting DVD B - Skipped L - 2 slices brisket S - 2 oz cheese D - 2 slices brisket, cauliflower, and Atkins crustless cheesecake with the strawberries (YUMMY!!) S - coffee with SF french vanilla creamer Sonic Route 44 unsweet tea. I sip on this all day to get my fluids in. I figure unsweet tea is not much more than colored Water.

    Hmmm. So maybe it's not the band itself, but the inndividual and amount of restriction. I have the 10cc band. DOn't know if that would make a difference, but I definately can't drink with meals, or straight to the bathroom I go. :smile2:

    I guess I will chill out, too. I will do my jililan michael videos on Tues and Thursday and only run on M - W - F. I'm not sure you can call Jillian chilling out. Man those dvd's are hard!! Thanks Whosya. Definately don't want to burn out!!

    Renewing my commitments

    I can't drink with my meals. If I do, it is coming back up. I have the newer AP band. My doc said that she has noticed that patients seem to be unable to eat and drink at the same time with this band. In her opinion that is the best aspect of the newer band. I would love to have a drink with a meal, but just can't. I guess I should be thankful, because that is one of the hardest parts.

    I am down 1 pound this morning, and TOM has visited today. Usually, that means weight gain!! I am also back in moderate ketosis. Are you a nurse, Mamato?? Before i started staying home with all these kiddos I was a nurse. Well, still am just not working right now!! Way to go everyone!! Here's to another great day!!

    I think I am going to leave my walking speed the same and maybe bump up the running. I am also going to run 5 days a week instead of 3. I am ready to burn some fat!!

    Your 1 year old sounds like my 19 month old. In the kids room at the gym, he just stands there and cries like someone is killing him. Sooo pitiful. A few months ago we got a treadmill for home so that I can run here. I still try to go to the gym a couple of days a week, but our gym only has childcare 3 evenings a week, so it is kinda hard to make it work consistantly. Mamato, way to go on your first day!! I don't think your times are too slow. I walk at 3.5 and run at 5, and i have been exercising regularly for some time. I thought about bumping it up a little, but as we increase the time that we are running we may not need to bump it up at all.
  19. Steph, so glad you are doing so well. The price of your procedures seems very reasonable. I am about 2 hours east of Dallas. I was going to have my surgery in Tyler (about an hour from me) but the cost is much higher. You seem very pleased with your result. Who is your doctor? Does your doctor/surgery Center have a website? Seems worth checking into!! So glad you are doing so well. You have been very busy. I can't wait to get this done!!!!
  20. I am losing a lot of hair too. Pretty much all I eat is protein. I don't eat enough fruits and veggies and rarely take vitamins. Guess I need to start. I have always had very thick hair, and it is beginning to look pretty thin.

    YAY!!!!! Are you planning to work after the baby gets here?? I figured you were feeling pretty sick, and yes, I would say that is a very good sign. It is hard to put into words how very happy I am for you. Having struggled with infertility myself, and then having a child.     Right after I started the couch to 5k the last time I signed up to run a 5k (Coman Race For a Cure As well). The 5k was only 6 weeks from the day I started the couch to 5k. I tried to double up on this plan and it just didn't work for me. Remember you can run/walk the 5k. You will be so proud of yourself wihen you cross the finish line. I know I was. It took me 37 minutes, but I couldn't have been prouder!! You will do great!!
