Way to go Leslie and Georgia. Yall are making me feel like a slacker. I am going to have to start looking for 5k's around here. Leslie, Hang in there!! DH will probably come around. If not, you are exercising for you, and doing quite awesome at it. I know it would be fun to do it together, but try not to let him get you down!! you are doing so well!!!

I was telling DH this story tonight and DS corrected me, He said that I am 81.1% toward being hot. HE is too funny.

Yall are too funny. The Rocky picture I had in my mind has been forever altered!! LOL We just got home from date night. We went to Applebee's and then to Hastings. DH looked at gun magazines while I read my Jillean Micheal book, Losing to Win. Very good book. I am halfway through it. It was very nice to read without any little kid distractions. My run really boosted my self esteem. I felt very attractive tonight. A little flirty even. DH and I had a great time. I am going to bed now!

Thanks guys!! I am just so pumped!! you know, I have been kinda bumbed lately because my scales are not dropping. Well, today helped a ton!! Being able to actually run for 20 minutes is better that getting on the scales and having lost a couple. Now, I can't say it's better than the total picture of losing 80, but it ranks pretty high up there. My scales may not be moving, but when I look in the mirror I am starting to see more curves, more bone structure, and a healthier me!! I attribute these recent changes to running. Now, a pound or two lost would be a great added bonus, but I think I am officially a runner now. It is so addictive, and the scales will have to drop eventually!!

I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:w00t::w00t::thumbup::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::wink2::w00t::eek::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t: I lived to tell about it. The first 10 minutes went by pretty fast. The next 5 were harder, and the last 5 were the longest 5 minutes of my life. I can't believe I actually did it!!! This is a big deal so I am going to be sentimental for a minute When this run started getting very hard I thought of where I started this journey 9 months ago and 81 pounds heavier. I couldn't run a minute much less a mile. Then I thought of my DH and DS and how fun it is to see them so proud of me. DH can't keep his hands off of me. Not just the physical part, but he is so proud of who I am becoming in the process. We are both seeing the me that he fell in love with and married being reborn. DS told me today, "Mom, I didn't think that lapband thing was supposed to work so fast!" He also told me that I am 81% to being "hot". They are my biggest fanclub and greatest support!! Then I thought of you all!! Bonnie - Finishing your run inspite of the psycho shoe guy at the gym. Leslie - Beiing determined to show DH that you can and are doing this Georgia - You have been a constant source of inspiration for me!! You never give up, even during long dry spells. You kept running even after your ankle injury Kathy - You are already scoping out 5k's to run. You are such an encourager to everyone else on here. So good about reading and responding to what's going on with everyone Mamato - You are kicking butt and taking names. While I was running I thought about you 1 day behind me. I knew I had to finish it because if I did then you would know that you can too. Whosya - I thought of your little girl wanting to run with you!! What a great inspiration to your kids. What determination you have Sugar - You are running even after EVLT! You go girl Lyn - You ran right up until surgery and are earger to get going again!! So, thanks you guys, I really did think of each of you while I was running. I was determined to be able to come back and post that I DID IT, and it was because of each of you!!! Sorry this is sooo long and sappy. I was probably sucking so much air that I am now overloaded with oxygen and in la la land. THE ROCKY MUSIC IS PLAYING!!!! You guys are the best.. Hey, if I get this excited over a 20 minute run, what will I do when I actually run a whole 5k. Better watch out!!

OK, the moment has come. If I wait any later then it will be too close to the end of the day to attempt this. I am getting on the treadmill to run my 20 minute interval. Man, I want to be able to do this. If I don't post again within an hour be VERY concerned. LOL Just kidding!! I get back to ya all soon...I hear Rocky music!!!

Today I was driving down the road and DS was sitting in the front passenger seat. He kept looking at me then he said, "Mom, I don't think that lapband thing was supposed to work so fast!" He said that I am officially 81% to being "hot". He is sooooo much like my DH. They both crack me up!!

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Ok mamato, here's what I have come to. On our 8 minute run we actually ran 16 out of 21 minutes. The first 8 was bad but not unbearable. I am thinking that i will just keep going. I will run as long as I can physically stay on the treadmill. I didn't think a week ago I could run 8 minutes and WE BOTH DID IT!! So, the sky is the limit!! I was looking ahead and we only have to do this 20 minute thing once for now. Week 6 starts with 5 and 8 minute running segments. Week 6 mix 2 is 10 minute running segments, and then 25 minutes on mix 3. So......just once.....surely I can hang on for 20 minutes just once!! Then it's back to some more doable intervals for a few days. 8 minutes won't seem so bad once we've done a 20 minute interval. I don't know if it's physically possible for me to do or not, but I am going to get on and run, and then I'm going to just keep running (Run, Forest, Run!). So, this run is tommorow. I am already trying to gear up mentally! I'll let yall know how it goes. I guarantee I won't be running it naked!! LOL Bonnie, I would have been tempted to trip the guy at the gym (just kidding) I am trying to think of the part of my body I am most proud of, and I really can't single one out. So, here is my list. (A list of parts of my body I like!! Whodathunkit!! - From a 42DD to a 38D bra (and it's too big) - I have ribs (DH loves to count them) - my back doesn't have any rolls and I have a waist. (DH would say my waist from behind is my best asset ) - I am losing my tire - My arms are starting to look muscular - My thighs are very muscular - My neck and shoulders - THE BIGGEST ONE......Would probably have to be that I have bones!!! All over my body, I HAVE BONES!! Shoulder blades, pelvic bones, hip bones, ribs, collar bones, ankle bones!! The thing I want to change the most..... I HATE this flap on my lap!!!!! I want a tummy tuck in a major way!! I have been pretty down about my lack of weight loss lately. Thanks for making me think about what is different. I REALLY am becoming a different person before my very own eyes!!

Dr. John Bagnato - Possible Leak!!

That sounds pretty reassuring. Hopefully it isn't a leak. I know you really wanted to know for sure, but it sounds like you are beginning to have pretty good restriction!! Hang in there!!

Ok I did week 5 mix 2 tonight. I can't believe there are 3 mixes this week. It gets much harder with each workout. Today was 5 min walk, then 8 min run, then 5 min walk then 8 min run. The first 8 was hard, but not too bad. The second 8 was as bad as I thought it might be. I was huffin and puffin!! Thursday's run is 20 minutes of uninterrupted running. OMGosh. When I finished today I thought, "I will definately not be moving on to mix 3 on Thursday." well, I have allready talked myself into it. This will be a true test of my endurance. I plan to run until I can't run anymore!! IF it isn't 20 minutes, then I will just keep at it until I get there. I may stay on mix 3 for a very long time. but, you know, who would have ever thought 5 weeks ago that I could run for 8 minutes straight. certainly not me!! Feeling quite proud tonight!!

The house is still very hot. It has only cooled to 86 inside the house. Once the sun goes down it will get better. Anywho, I am getting on the treadmill to run now. I am really hoping I can hang with these 8 minute run intervals today!! Here I go!!

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Right there with you Leslie. I would MUCH rather be too cold than too hot. I can get under a blanket if I am cold. I might get funny looks if I walk around the house naked because it is too hot!! LOL

Thanks Leslie!! We are back home. It was a broken fan belt, so, $320 later we have air conditioning!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am soooo glad. We thought we would stay home and tough it out last night, but at about 10p we decided that it would be too hard on the babies, so we didn't stay home last night. when the man left it was 90 degrees in the house, so pretty hot, and it is the hottest time of the day, so the unit is going to have a hard time catching up before dark. It is 95 outside and I think the high here today is supposed to be 104. I've never lived anywhere else, but people say that there is no heat quite like Texas heat. It is thick, humid, and HOT!! Anyway, I love Texas!!!! I am supposed to run today. As much as I hate to run in the evenings, I am going to wait until this evening so that it will be cooler. Everyone is doing soooo great!! Keep it up!!

Kathy, I won't say I'm gald that I'm not alone, because I wouldn't wish this frustration for you, but I am glad to have someone to fight through it with. You are right. If we are making good choices then the scales will surely show it soon. Month before last I lost 15 pounds in one month. I was doing VERY strict low carb, but man it was great to see those scales moving. This past month I only lost 3 pounds. I know I can't expect 15 pound months ever month, but it sure was nice. I think we are probably building muscle with running. As we all know...muscle weighs more than fat, but muscle also burns fat, so the more muscle the more fat burning. Let's hang in there together. The scales will join us someday!! Soon I hope!!

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

hang in there McGreen. Week 4 was really hard for me too. Ok, I have to say I am a little frustrated. I need some advice and reassurance. I am running like crazy, and doing Wii Fit. I am watching my diet. I am not doing strict low carb anymore, but I am limiting my diet to only healthy carbs. I take in between 1000 and 1100 calories a day. When I initially went off low carb I gained 6 pounds overnight. I have lost the 6 pounds and am at 174, but I can't seem to lose any new weight!!! Should I eat different??? Should I just be patient assuming that I am gaining muscle right now and the pounds will drop??? I am trying nnot to be frustrated, but man my scales need to drop!!!!!

That is great news Leslie. I am glad you were able to convey to him how important this is to you!! Well, I did week 5 day 1 today. It was very hard, but I can't say it was harder than last week. Week 5 has 3 different mixes. You do a different one each workout day. I looked ahead and might not should have. Mix 2 run has 8 minute intervals and then the 3rd mix is a 20 minute interval!! You have got to be kidding me!! We'll see. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!
