Well, I am smart with an amazing memory, except I FORGOT both of those things for a few years, I have lost enough weight now that I went job hunting and landed at a school bus garage where I am studying my CDLS Class B with a passenger endorsement, in 4 days I finished all the book work and took the 100 question exam, now on to my permit. I worked at a nursing home in my 20's and Had every patient but ones medications memorized, I would only look at their medication chart for changes. The one I couldn't remember literally took about 50 pills daily it was crazy. I am also bubbly when I feel better on my job interview he scored it, I peeked on personality, I got a 10 out of 10.

I started training in martial arts with my two daughters almost four years ago. I am passionate about women's self defense and I wanted my girls to be confident that they could take care of themselves if there was ever a need.
The three of us are testing for our second degree black belts and instructor licenses in July! I am so proud of them and ME!

While this is a public support forum I would and i'm sure we all would appreciate constructive criticism not criticism for arguments sake. I feel for the OP who came and posted and was made to feel the way she has. Its very unfair to make assumptions, please ask if you are unsure of what the OP means etc.
We all have different journeys, not everyone has been educated about the specific operations each of us have had. Some people have had amazing amount of education about the sleeve pre op, but some like me have not had all that much and are still learning and taking it one day at a time and trying to read as much about it on this site as there is amazing information on here and amazing support. Whenever something new arises we come to see if someone else has gone through what we are going through and hopefully guide us through our issues etc.
I ask for everyone to be patient with one another, please
wishing you all every success with your weight loss journeys xox

I hope I never post something stupid...
I have to agree with the Truths you posted under your names ProjectMe & Lipstick lady...they are very correct!
I never understood how the lapband worked before ( I won''t get into that it's in the past) lets just say I UNDERSTAND now.
It's all of the things you posted under you names and then some.
It was eye opening for me to understand it finally! that is is a tool to help me NOT a miracle cure. That I have to make a 110% lifestyle change for LIFE. I have to accept that I can never eat what I did before or even have as much liquids.
I understand all those things and I am willing to make the change for life.
If I should post something stupid ...do slap me one and let me know
I am only at the start of my journey so I'll liable to say something dumb..
Just go ahead and let me know if I do!! :-)

Sometimes I get that feeling...but then I check myself. Not everyone has received the kind of PreOp education I received. Not everyone reached rock bottom b4 having surgery. Not everyone has the time or the skills to engage in WLS research...ETC.
I am constantly reminding myself that even though we may have WLS in common, we are all on different journeys.
I have also learned about myself that it is fruitless for me to reply on certain topics. Certain topics really irritate me...so rather than post something that could be construed as less than helpful, I try to be disciplined enough to skip that post.

I chose the sleeve. My good friend chose bypass. We're both happier and healthier. Do the research, talk to your surgeon, and choose the best WLS for you.

Snacking/grazing? Unsure of your daily calorie intake? Use an app like MyFitnessPal or LoseIt...without knowing, it's just speculation which will add to your anxiety level. Your male friend has lost more? You are comparing apples with oranges. Men typically lose at a faster rate than women. Also, why are you comparing your weight loss with anyone? Kind of setting yourself up for disappointment because there will always be someone who has lost more or less than you. As I tell my kids & students...worry about you and your own journey. It really is the only one that matters.
Your comment about doing this to be thin...did you reallyjust get WLS to be thin? Or were there other reasons, such as, a better quality of life or because of comorbidities or other health reasons? Let's put this into perspective...although being thin is nice...it is just so much more than that isn't it. And if it is so much more than that doesn't that make what you see on the scale just a part of the journey...not the end all be all.

ProjectMe got a reaction from BLERDgirl in Cheating
This post makes an assumption that cheating during PreOp is common. It is possible to go through the PreOp & PostOp phases without cheating and a number of ppl on this site, including myself did just that. Don't give up on yourself by cheating, whether it's by a little or a lot. And if you do slip up, forgive yourself & get back on the plan. Following the surgeons Pre/post Op plan is definitely doable.

I separate my Calcium and multi by 2 hours I take my omep, calcium, and B12, have a Protein Drink. Then 2 hours later, I make a little food, because I have to have something solid when I take my multi, or I get very sick, even with food I get nauseated after multis. I always have, even pre-sleeve.

I am struggling to go out and have a manicure, pedicure, massage, walk on the beach, etc. instead of eating. I shouldn't have posted.

LET ME CLARIFY! Oh boy, I really set off a storm! I had a kids meal at Red Robin. It consisted of grilled chicken skewers and steamed, undressed broccoli. The drink (diet lemonade) was drank later. I do not go to fast food restaurants AT ALL. Unless you consider Chipoltle one. There I had a kids meal of grilled chicken and black Beans. I can't stand thinking that you are invisioning me sitting down to a burger and fries!

@@yoyolifechange11 I read this thread and it made me unbelievably sad for what you are going through. It truly bothers me that your husband, for some reason, feels it's okay to repeat the same mantra to you each morning. It also bothers me greatly that you are in a situation where you do not have any power. What I mean by that is, you put yourself in a precarious position when you have no way of supporting yourself. Your husband can walk out the door tomorrow. What would you do to support yourself and your children? I volunteered at a battered woman's shelter throughout college. I read your post & unfortunately it takes me back there.
My mother was a stay at home mom. She saved money in her own account for years...a little here, a little there, begins to add up. My parents have been married for 55 years. But, she has always had her own money and told all of us girls to never rely on a man to "take care" of us. life's too short, and you can be poor & miserable by yourself. I was also a stay at home mom for my little ones untl they got to kindergarten. You'd better believe that I had my own money that whole time.
