Worried it wont work
ProjectMe replied to staceymeaux's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It works as long as you have the right mindset and are willing to work at it. It is not magic. If you walk into it thinking I'll eat whatever I want and exercise whenever I feel like it...it's not going to give you the results you are looking for. Consider WLS as just one leg of a three legged stool. The other two legs are diet and exercise. Do your research on this board and others. Learn what makes someone successful and stay at or below goal through out the years. And emulate them. -

Face moisturizer suggestions? And dry skin in general -- lotion suggestions?
ProjectMe replied to Elizabeth21's topic in The Gals' Room
At night I use 4 drops Loreal's age perfect glow renewal with Neutragena ageless essentials night moisturizer. In the morning I use Neutragena's daily moisturizer spf35, with 2 drops of Loreal's glow renewal. I wash my face twice a day with Neutragena's fresh foaming cleanser. I use palmers cocoa butter formula on my body twice a day. If my body is extraordinarily dry, I will use good old vasoline before bed -
Frozen meals - lean cuisine weight watchers...
ProjectMe replied to MamaTo3inNH's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I like those seasoned packets too. I tried a Thai seasoned one at lunchtime and almost passed out from the heat of it...should have known better when I opened it and it had a whole chili pepper on top! I also like the frozen turkey burgers and salmon fillets. -

Have you tried tuna or another white fish? Seems to work better for me...I can only eat an ounce or two of chicken. -

Unjury makes an unflavored protein that I add to just about everything...soups, turkey chili, fat free chili, hummus, cottage cheese, yogurt, Apple sauce, etc. -

Much too high in carbs & fat & sodium my nutritionist said not to go over 15g of carbs, 5g sugar & 5g of fat per serving. -

Have you tried the recipes on the blog World According to Eggface? She has recipes for every Bariatric stage. Whenever I get bored I try something new. The recipes make a lot of portions, so I freeze them and I'm good for weeks. -
Frozen meals - lean cuisine weight watchers...
ProjectMe replied to MamaTo3inNH's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Interestingly, frozen meals aren't even mentioned in my PostOp plan. We can eat so little that I'd rather eat something high protein, nutritious & tasty tbh. I wouldn't be getting my money's worth since I don't eat potatoes, rice, pasta, or white flour...I would just pick out the meat and maybe a few veggies then leave the rest. -
I buy my trail running shoes from the New Balance store. Yes, they are expensive, but they last and my knees and back thank me for buying a good quality shoe. And I replace them yearly.

As I'm getting closer to goal and it's beginning to heat up here in Tx, I've been thinking about bathing suits. My boobs have completely deflated so I need a suit that pushes them up and out. Plus one that hides the extra tummy skin. I've been looking at Miracle suits, but many kind of look too old. Does anyone have a better idea where I can look for a good one piece suit? That does all the above plus looks a little sexy and up to date? Any suggestions would be appreciated

Just to update...I ordered two tankinis (push-up/slimming) and a slimming swim mini w/a cute side slit from Lands End. I also ordered a high waisted/slimming/side shirred w/strings brief from JC Penneys. I ordered 1 size down based on my current measurements & how I've been losing...I'm only 20 lbs from goal. My vacation is in June . It is so nice to be able to choose cute regular sized swimsuits! And I'm totally excited to look & feel sexy!

Sleeve or Lap Band? Scared of making wrong choice!
ProjectMe replied to KS123's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had the choice between sleeve and bypass. Military bases no longer perform the band due to the high number of complications. There seems to be a trend in that regard. -
Unexpectedly slow start to weight loss
ProjectMe replied to dmkaz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had a total thyroidectectomy 4 years ago due to cancer & so far I've lost 90 pounds...60 of which was PreOp. As long as you are taking your meds properly, your bloodwork is where it should be and you are following your surgeons plan, you will lose weight -
Some things are similar to my nutritionists rules. Yes to eating only 4 ounces thing minus the stomach bursting. Yes to eating only 2 ounces of Protein then some vegetables, but my nutritionist says skip the starches. Yes to not eating small seeds. And yes to the Flinstones Vitamins giving you the most bang for your buck. But I think your nutritionist is confused about the 20 minutes chewing suggestion. I was told to chew each bite 20-25 times...not chew each bite for 20 minutes...as that would be impossible. And my nutritionist did mention that some patients have trouble digesting the skin of fruit. He recommended to try it and if it doesn't work, try again further down the road.

How Closely Do You Stick to the Program?
ProjectMe replied to mnmlst's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery Dec. 16th. I follow my surgeons plan to the letter. I am losing at the rate my body wants to lose at (1-2lbs/every 2 weeks). -
HELP!I NEED A LIST OF SLIDERS!
ProjectMe replied to GEAUX SAINTS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, sorry! I mean foods that just slide through the stomach! Oh got it. I actually don't have any issues with food sliding through. I follow my surgeons guidelines and eat Protein first. Nothing I've eaten has given me any problems. -
HELP!I NEED A LIST OF SLIDERS!
ProjectMe replied to GEAUX SAINTS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you mean foods that may cause you to slide into old habits? My sliders are: bread, cake, cookies, popcorn and candy. So I just don't eat those things, plus these items go against my surgeons rules. -
Anyone wake up with Acid in the middle of the night
ProjectMe replied to pinkbunies's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No and I take 20mg of nexium once daily. That sounds awful, have you contacted your surgeon? Maybe they can try a different med? In the meantime sleep with your head& upper body elevated some and try not to eat late. -

My husband is not attracted to me - 2 weeks post-op
ProjectMe replied to marbelvsg's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You came to this site, not for the reasons or spirit for which it is intended. You mistakenly assume that all men like their women according to the shallow definition you provided. Sounds Trollish. If you are sincere...life is too short & as my parents told me, "You can be miserable by yourself...you don't need a man to cause you further misery."
