Searching for people on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska
Fraoch posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'd love to find others in my area who have had bariatric surgery, especially the gastric bypass. I am pre-op at this time but building a support system would be very helpful. -
I am looking for anyone: as many anyone's as possible! Who have dealt with emotional eating after gastric bypass. I'm about 1.5 years out and after having lost 180 pounds have gained back 30. I'm scared and need help. Please. Sent from my MotoG3 using the BariatricPal App

It has been nearly a year since I lost weight and I have gained back 30 pounds. Why? Emotional eating. Anyone have advice? Sent from my MotoG3 using the BariatricPal App

It's taken longer for me to put this weight back on than it did before the surgery. But the big thing is that this is the issue I dealt with before the surgery, the reason I was fat to begin with. Surgery won't fix those things. But, surgery WILL give you a fighting chance! Sent from my MotoG3 using the BariatricPal App

I like that!!! It's really creative! I've got dogs, guinea pigs, and a cat... I know they'd love to eat in my stead ???? I work at a bakery so that has been a huge issue. I'd quit but my parents own it and everything I do is to help them semi retire. Nothing is ever easy lol. And no matter what I do there will always be excuses. Distracting myself is a good idea. Any thoughts for alternatives at work? Sent from my MotoG3 using the BariatricPal App

10. Being able to walk for more than fifty feet without having to sit down 9. Not having to shop at special stores for clothes 8. Being able to perform self-care without special aides and acrobatics 7. Ability to apply for jobs that require walking/standing so that I can pay off debts and reach financial goals 6. Taking family photos I can be proud of 5. Feeling good enough about myself that I am not afraid to leave my home or feeling guilty for subjecting people to seeing me. 4. Traveling! I'd love to fly to the lower 48 without oozing into someone else's seat and needing a belt extender 3. Maybe... dating? 2. Pulling myself together in the morning and feeling genuinely good about about myself And... #1: Genuinely LIVING! Right now I do not feel as though I am really living life. I want to dive in and revel in all the wonderful, fun things life has to offer.
