Seems suspicious to me that "agb aid" only beccame a member the day they did this initial post and the only other post was this follow-up. Seems like marketing to me. I will of course give them the benefit of the doubt but I hope "agb aid" can understand if it looks like an ad, and smells like an ad, it is probably an ad. JMHO

Thanks for the good advice. I thought I understood it all before my surgery, but I still find myself doubting what I am doing some days. I think it is just a BIG lifestyle change and takes patience like you said. I did get the Inamed patient book from my Dr., I think I have wore it out I have read it so many times. And, I am 11 days post-op and haven't weighed myself once....only because I don't have a scale and have resisted going to buy one. Thanks again, I know for me I need constant reassurance that I am doing this right. I think like many others here I just want to know I am doing it right, this is such a big thing to me. Plus, I was banded in Mexico and so there are no follow-up visits for me, so no Dr. to reassure me I am doing ok.

Congratulations John!! What an awesome accomplishment.

Will I feel well enough to fly 2 days after surgery?
Barb replied to choldren's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had surgery on Thursday afternoon and flew out on Saturday morning. Had to fly on American Eagle so it was the smaller Regional Jets but didn't have any problems. MY DH was with me so I didn't ever have to handle any luggage or anything. Clearing customs and changing termianls at DFW was a little tiring so I had to take a nap when I got home. -
Laptop, I have to have my mobility!! Winter (Cold Weather) or Summer (Hot Weather)

I stayed off 6 calendar days after surgery. When I went back I didn't do anything but work in the office. I ended up working longer days than I had planned and got very tired, but I didn't have any pain. Like someone said everyone is different though.

Hi all, Can you'll share with me how fast you can drink water. Can you take large sips or so you always take teeny tiny sips? I am still not able to get in enough water and I was thinking that maybe I am just trying to drink it to slowly with to small of sips. I am drinking water all day long from the time I get up until I go to bed with the exception of right before I eat until at least 30-45 minutes afterwards. I am probably more worried about this than I need to be but in the past water has always been the key to successful weight loss for me. I know that it is important as a bandster.

I will keep on sipping. I worried about this and asked when I was on the 1 week liquid diet and was told the same thing, just drink what I can. I stopped worrying about it so much and started drinking from a 1 oz. medicine cup. Yesterday afternoon, I decided I should read over my paperwork again and in place after place it states to get in at least 64 oz. of water per day. I spent the rest of the afternoon concenterating on water, it was almost midnight (new day) and I hadn't gotten 64 oz. I just want to do everything right. Thanks for you'lls patience with me and continuing to assure me again and again that I am doing ok.

Congratulations on making the decision to go for it. You have found the best place for online support right here.

Thanks all, coming here always makes me feel so much better. I have been sleeping so much today. Kare, if I hadn't been taken by such surprise and had been thinking better I would have probably said something to that effect. Vines, I have only been banded 9 days and I have no idea how much weight I have lost. There are two places where is is showing though, first it was in my waist, and then in my face. I think I may be loosing in my bust too, but I haven't measured just basing on my bras fitting differently today. I don't know why I took it badly. I usually just let things go. I don't think I was prepared for anyone to notice anything this quickly. That combined with being very tired Friday afternoon probably has lots to do with it. Monday will be better. I am glad I went back to work mid-week so I didn't have a full week before the weekend. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

I am still feeling great and I went back to work on Thursday with no problems, except I was tired when I got home after 12 hours. I didn't tell anyone at work I was having this done. If fact, I harldy told anyone at all (only 2 people + husband). This afternoon I had an employee in my office and as she was getting ready to go she asked "did you get your stomach stapled?" I can't even imagine the look on my face. I said no, why would you ask that? She said "because you look like you have lost lots of weight," then she put her hand on her cheek and said "your face." What do you say?

I had my surgery on Thursday and am feeling great, but I am not able to drink as much Water as I should be. How much water should I be getting down the first few days after surgery? I had hoped I would do better today (get more down), but so far it is still slow going. I seem to be able to only get down about 2 ounces an hour, not just water but any liquid. I get very full feeling after 2 ounces of liquid (any liquid). So far today I have only been having water, I will post what I had yesterday. Am I doing okay, or should I push the full feeling and get more water down. Saturday 24 oz. of water total for the day 2 oz. Boost Protein shake 1/4 c. chicken broth 1 SF Popsicle ~1 oz. of SF Jello Sunday ** I have only been up a little over 2 hours 2 oz. water w/ Crystal Light Sunrise Classic Orange Working on my next 2 oz. of water Thanks!

Lisa, I have stitches but I do not have them removed. So no, not everyone has stitches that need to be removed.

Best wishes........we will see you on the banded side.

Congratulations Vanessa and welcome to LBT. I will look forward to reading your posts when you return with your band.

Phyllis, I get the bars at Wal-Mart and United (local grocery store). I haven't tried any of the other stuff, but I have recently seen lots of the South Beach stuff at Wal-Mart.

Everyone needs to vent from time to time. Don't be discouraged about losing 8 lbs. Eight pounds is great. 1) The band is only designed to help you loose 1-3 lbs. per week. You have lost 4 per week. 2) Any weight you loose before you are filled is a bonus. This is a time for healing, not necesarily weight loss. The loss will come fast enough, however I certainly can relate to wanting off NOW. :-) Keep your chin up, you are doing great!

I am looking forward to scuba diving again (as soon as I can fit back into my gear). I am looking forward to shopping for clothes in any store, not just those that have a plus size section. and I am looking forward to feeling better about myself.

Sounds good! I don't use the Crock Pot often but when I do I always wish I used it more. I tend to use it more in the winter when using the BBQ grill is out. I will give the Mexican Meatballs a try when I am on regular foods. Thanks for sharing.

Yea Lisa! It will keep getting better everyday.

I am going back to work on Thursday which is the same day I start "mushies." I decided it would be easier if I took my lunch since I can't come home because I commute. I figured I would try tuna salad, chicken salad, and egg salad with a couple of crackers. Can some of you'll tell me what you put in with the tuna, chicken, and egg? Also, what crackers work best when banded. I was talking to my husband and I decided it is ok for me to drive. I think we figured out that I wasn't suppose to drive for a week because the Dr. had given me pain killers.......duh, but I never took any of them. Anyway, I am going to go to the store tomorrow to by my lunch stuff for Thursday and Friday and realized I don't relly know how to make it, I know you add mayo but what else pickles, or relish? I don't want to call my Mom becasue we haven't told her about the surgery and she will definantly think something is wrong if I am making food at home.

Don't have a WAWA (actually never even heard of it), but I wish we did. I will probably explore what the different stores have in there deli's because I don't see myself taking my lunch everyday long term. I am usually working out of town (I commute every day but I mean a long distance 90% out of state) every other week to 10 days so I am glad I was able to get 13 days without travel so I had a week for surgery and recovery and a week (nearly) for pureed stage. I have a crazy travel schedule beginning on August 28th when I fly to New Orleans (great place for fish) until the week of Thanksgiving. Bye, bye homeJ. At least I will earn more miles or free tickets I can use to go and get my fills. The closest Dr. I can find from home to do fills for me is ~350 miles away. My doctor said I did not have to use light or diet things because it generally tastes better and like yours said the calorie difference is insignificant with the small portion sizes. I will watch my calories and use light and diet as/if needed.
