    ******Finally banded*************

    Congratulations to you both.
  3. I had my surgery on Thursday afternoon (August 11th). I had a couple of date changes 1st was my schedule and then the Doctor's, but I am banded now. You guys who are later in August don't worry to much the whole process was very easy. Best wishes.
  4. Okay, since I am going to be up all night sitting in my hotel room waiting on news about my in-laws I had to think of something to do so here it is. I decided I would start shopping (online) for some additions to my fall wardrobe and started thinking I should find some more places to shop. I prefer to shop in the stores but still do alot online. What is your favorite store?

    Another Game

I enjoy the games and many of you seem to also so I thought I would try another one. I don't know how it will work online but we will see, I do this when I facilitate a networking workshop for a simple icebreaking exercise, it just isn't online. The first person will say something about themselves (e.g. I am married with 2 children, My favorite football team is the Bears, I love to scuba dive, I have lost 75 pounds, etc.) someone with the same interest or situation will respond (e.g. I am also married with 2 children, Scuba is the best!, etc.) Then that person will add something else about themselves (e.g. I am an Aggie, I was born to shop, I ride a Harley, etc.) and it just continues from there. You can find out a lot about people and locate those with the same interests as yourself. Try it and let's see how it works online.
  6. Update: MIL was treated and released. Both SIL's are being evaluated at another hospital. Neither is in serious condition. They were sent to different hospitals. They were travelling here from our hometown about 40 miles away when my SIL lost control of the car, crossed the center median into the southbound traffic lanes and rolled the vehicle 4 times. Foutunantly they were all wearing seat belts, no one was ejected from the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved. My MIL had to be removed from the vehicle by the jaws of life and was airlifted to the hospital where they evalauted, treated and released. It was a rough night, all I could do was sit and wait. I am glad I had this place to come and keep some of my time occupied. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. They are all very fortunante not to have any serious injuries. I am going crazy waiting on more news so I decided to post it. My mother-in-law and two of my sister-in-laws were involved in a bad car accident today. My MIL had to flown to the hospital by helicopter. I only know that much because it is on the local television station's website (My Mom called and told me it was on the 10 o'clock news). I am waiting on my husband to call with an update, I wish he would hurry up. I am working out of town through tomorrow and then we were suppose to be heading to Mexico for my surgery. Will have to just sit here and wait for more news. It is to late for me to get a flight home tonight since we live in a smaller city. I should say that when I did talk to my husband he said the injuries did not appear to be critical or live threatening but didn't know much else.

    Protein Drinks...yuck

Don't cry Margo, I am pretty sure she doesn't know what the h*ll she is talking about. I know doctors are different but I can't recall any of the bandsters saying they survived on protein drinks for the first several months.

How Many Exercise Gadgets Do You Own?

None, I am too cheap to buy something I am not going to use and if it isn't being used I would haul it to goodwill or through it away because I HATE clutter. The only 2 things I have, I use. My iPod for when I walk and when I am traveling A set of weights I use to keep my arms from getting flabby. Okay Vera, fess up.........you know we all want to know.
  10. Lisa, Are you doing the toy parties?

    Protein Drinks...yuck

I don't have to do the pre-op liquid diet but will have to be on it after banding. I decided to start trying out some of the shakes so I would know which ones I would do better with so I have them for Breakfast each morning. So far, I like the MuscleMilk the best; I put it in the freezer (when I am home) before I get in the shower. By the time I am ready to go and take it with me it is good and cold. It also keeps me full for a long time. Has anyone found a prepared shake that is tolerable at room temperature. That is the problme I haven't found an answer to.

    Revision Thursday

Best wishes on you revision surgery; you will be back to loosen in no time. I am a week away from my banding and I can't wait. Haven't gotten the "last meal" syndrome yet but I am sure it will come. I am just working on drinking more Water, taking tiny bites and eating slower. Will be looking forward to your posts when you return from Mexico.
  20. Here's another 2 cents worth. First, when I am really mad I try the 24 hour rule and not do or say anything for 24 hours, I usually have a little different approach then. I try and remember that I need to treat others like I would want them to treat me. If I screwed up I want to know it. I try and always say "we" instead of "you," "me," or "I." Such as "We have been through a lot togther" instead of "I have been there so many times for you." or "I have never betrayed your trust." One of the better things in life is friendship and the only way to have a friend is to be one, so take some time to calm down and call your friend and talk.

Just In Time To Share BANUT
  22. I have been thinking about this too. I went through my closets a few weekends ago and reorganized everything. My friends tease me about this but I got some of those round size tags (the ones that separate the sizes) and I put them in my closets. I have only kept my better clothes, especially pantsuits for work. But, as they tell me I am a "freak" when it comes to organizing things and time management. Anyway, one thought is that I will know exactly what I have in each size and not have to spend to much time searching (I am optimistic that I will change sizes often :-). I figured if I didn't do this I wouldn't realize that I did have more things to wear than I thought. Plus, I work out of town every other week so it makes packing much faster. I also put a big basket in the closet to keep the clothes (after cleaning) in when they become to big and I will give them away. <O:p</O:p Maybe we could start a clothing exchange on here. If we posted some information like what size(s) we need and what types of clothes (jeans, shorts, scrubs, business casual, suits) we needed we could help each other out. I would be willing to send a few shipments to others on here. It would probably be later this fall before I have much to send, and most of what I would have would be business suits (pants with jackets).<O:p</O:p<O:p</O:p
  23. Mayflower, Congratulations on your big day tomorrow. Will be looking forward to hearing from you on the banded side.

    SEX, SCARS & DATING!!!

Lying can be hard to overcome. The trust factor is VERY important in a successful relationship and personally I don’t want to be in a relationship (especially an intimate one) with someone I can’t trust. You can find many ways to answer questions without lying. Just think about it, don't do something you regret later on.
