It's GO time....almost
MarieMarie replied to Dakota Girl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I stayed the night because of my sleep apnea. Walked as soon as I could. Stayed an extra night in Toronto. My friend drove me two hours away to another hotel and I went into a store to buy a few things. Take things easy. No lifting. Rest. Walk and drink water. Take care of yourself. Enjoy the journey -

Vomiting, pain, cant eat food and cant live my life - life with lap band
MarieMarie replied to FranKar2010's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have done a lot of research. People want immediate results with little effort. With good eating and exercising habits and many food choice changes I have lost 40 lbs with the band at 4 cc full. I did not expect the band to do all the work. -
"Another Day, Another Surgeon" OR "Thank God for That!"
MarieMarie replied to TheProfessor's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I bought a Fitbit flex to count my steps and encourage me to move. I am not ready for hard Zumba classes but need to get myself going. I had surgery in Toronto. Everything went well for me. I was very informed with what I needed to do to do to have a successful journey by reading forums and YouTube. Get up and walk as soon as you can after surgery and GasX and pill crusher. Take the time required to plan eating and meal prep. -
Congrats and best of luck

Human nature. Even my closest friends are competitive I told the friend that drive me to the hospital and a friend that has had the sleeve and after a major weight loss, she has gained it almost all back. I was trying to get her on board to exercise with me and discuss healthy eating.

Slow, oh so slow, but steady loss....
MarieMarie replied to nomorejellybelly's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I so agree with the slow and steady. I want my skin to reshape with my body. A part of my mind would love to wake up tomorrow 100 lbs thinner but then reality sets in. I didn't gain the 100 lbs overnight! -
Oat bag, walking, sipping water and GasX

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY! Any last minute advice?
MarieMarie replied to ImWithTheBand13's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
And REST. After my surgery I took the time to rest and relax. This isn't a quick fix. It is the start of a wonderful journey. During my first two weeks, I spent time in organizing my new life and eating habits. Write your Wish list. Clean out your closet, find interesting and good recipes. -
First fill today *nervous*
MarieMarie replied to Jkim728's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I got my first fill, finally. 4 months of trying to get a fill date. I am a very nervous person, big chicken in fact. The nurse was fantastic with me, no pain and very quick. I have read this forum for 4 months and had a very good understanding of all the info she wanted to ensure I had. 40 lbs down in 4 months on my 'adventure'. Enjoy the journey! -
