Does it become negative reinforcement because if you eat because you want to and not because you have to, you will start to get stuck and sick? And then does it just become second nature? I am listening to my doctor. I am trying not to be a know it all. If he says fill then I'm filling.

Just noticed my hair is coming out more. I have lots of hair so I'm not worried but wondering if my fellow November banders are seeing the same thing.

How did it go?

I would like free shipping and willing to pay a yearly fee so I can order as much as I want without paying shipping. Kind of like Prime. -
So sorry to hear about your loss. Both my parents died by the time I was 40 so I know what it's like to lose parents. There are no words other than I'm sorry and take this time to be kind to yourself and let others be kind to you. The one thing that I found comforting is to do something nice in his honor. That will depend on what he liked or if you did something special together. I do this every year around my parents' anniversary. Let's me remember them in a positive way.

Beautiful Day for a weigh in and fill...
briefs199 replied to amponder's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Awesome!!! Was wondering how you are doing. Keep it going. I'm getting my third fill (I also had a weather related cancellation) first week of April. Last time I just got a half cc. Wondering if I should get a whole cc. I'm generally feeling VERY hungry in the morning and ok every 4 hours after that. Anyone else very hungry in morning? Seems like most people are not hungry in the am. -
Aren't you supposed to still be on liquids 7 days post op?

I would spend a lot of time here reviewing posts and also on YouTube. I was 315 before surgery. I had just Packed on another 30 pounds in less than a year. I knew that something had to be done or my weight was going to completely spiral out of control even more. I spent a lot of time talking to my doctor and researching the good and the bad parts of getting the band. In the end it was the best decision for me. I'm down about 60lbs since November. Get books as well which I found helpful like the Big Book of Lap Band and Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies.

Almost time! What to expect?

Good luck tomorrow!! Make sure someone fills your pain meds before you get home. Bring Chapstick someone told me and a pillow for when you ride home and can keep it against your stomach. -
New here:) I have a few questions.

1 band, 1 year, 1 new life

Wonderful story. You are very inspiring and good luck on your weight loss and new life ! -
Every time I think that I'm not losing fast enough I think how if I did not have this band I would be gaining more and more weight and feeling like I had no ability to lose 5lbs. Make sure you keep a diary with weight and inches and photos. When I get down I look through it and realize how far I've come. The amount I have to lose seems daunting. I am inspired by those who say "it took me 3 years to lose my weight". That will be me. I know it. And I'm still learning not to eat around my band and how not to get stuck so I consider these few months a learning time.

Am thinking of getting one of those but looking for economical one which has reasonable inserts for the plastic. Any recommendations?

question about how often you see your surgeon post-op
briefs199 replied to Keeper's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I saw the surgeon one week after surgery and then the nurse practitioner for 3 fills. After that my insurance required I see the doctor for fills. I have no idea why this is. It seems wasteful to have to take the dr 's time up just for a fill. But I always felt that if there were issues I could see the surgeon. The NP and MDs are in the same office. -
I don't look!! Lol. But for me it was not a large needle. My port is near my belly button so I don't get any anesthetic either.
-
I got 2cc but had .5 taken out before I left office. Then 1 and then .5. I'm 4 months out and missed one month of fills due to weather.
-
Had the same thing. The 20s I got from goodwill were so baggy but went to try on jeans at Macy's today and none of the 18s or 20s fit. They all were those slim fit ones. My god slim fit plus size jeans??? What the heck!!!

Congratulations!!!!

Jut checking in. I'm down about 50lbs but have not been working the band the last 2 weeks and have not lost much weight which is all my doing, not my band. Otherwise I have not had any complications and I feel so much lighter and healthier since my initial weight loss. I had a first goal of 50lbs. I now am going to do it 10lbs at a time since my weight is not coming off as quickly. I have about 60 more to get to my doctor's goal for me of 200lbs. I'm not sure what my goal should be. According to BMI charts I should be about 155 so that would be another 105lbs. Wow that sounds overwhelming!!!
-
I'm 5'6" and 3/4!! I will see how it goes. I remember being 170 and loving it but maybe my goals will find me instead of finding my goal?
